Yes, there is constant construction going on due to recovering from the hurricane. BUT the resort is beautiful, the pool/lazy river was wonderful, the place is right on the beach, we had ocean view from our balcony. We were in the room closest to the ocean, all pink inside, kinda different but not off-putting. But we truly only sleep in our room. The staff were super friendly, Alphie the bartender at the pool Grotto Bar is wonderfully entertaining, the pool is amazing and never did get crowded. The hot tubs were truly hot. The beach was beautiful. The restaurant was good when we ate there. We walked down the beach, quite a walk, to a fish fry - fun evening! The staff or cab drivers are happy to tell you how to get there. We frequently took the ferry to the marketplace for dinner/drinks/shopping. When we stayed too late, a taxi brought us home. Find a good taxi driver and he will give you his name and # to call. Ours picked us up after the bars closed, he was off-duty already, but happy to come get us. The locals are so glad you are there, they readily talk and share things to do and let you know if something is worth it or not, and then share an alternative. WE WILL BE BACK!

We loved this resort for the wonderful pool, being right on the beach (watched the sunrise every morning) and the restaurant was very good. but the bed was I think the worse bed we're every had on vacation. The Bed you sleep on is very important as you spend up to 8 hours there daily. You can't get around that.

We enjoyed our stay at Taino beach resort! Stayed for 4 nights in a very comfortable room that provided kitchenette and all utensils, definitely recommend going to Solomon's grocery store which the resort provided transportation for its guests atleast 2x a week..1 thing to take to grocery store is your own bags to use..you can buy/rent bags from the front desk as well for $5. The rooms are original but that makes it even cuter for the island feel..no hurricane can break those coral walls down! Clean grounds, large pool, best resort for beach access with beach chairs and tiki cabanas provided free! Restaurant onsite was good as well! Hours vary so just a heads up. Cabs readily available and ferry shuttle to Port Lucaya market is a short walk as well! Very thankful we experienced the local fish fry in town on Wednesdays..$4 per person cab ride and you get dropped off at a locals fish fry!! There are 3 different spots to choose food from..doesn't get started until 6ishpm-1am. Many choices of fantastic food to choose from along with bars and music! We will continue to support Freeport while this gem recovers from a devastating hurricane season less than a year ago!

This is a timeshare resort, about 16 years old, and looking it. Awesomely bad decoration in rooms, cooker onbly working 3 rings, bizarre dark blue green bathroom fittings, revolting coral pink finish on all room fittings. Isolated. Unexpected 'tourist tax' of $240/week on check in. At mercy of expensive cabs and hotel rides. Not even salt or sugar, tea of coffee left in rooms. Out of control aircon. Nice pool but cold as hell. Grand Bahama is still flattened by various hurricanes with no repair going on, disappointing, bizarrely expensive place, few tourist facilities.

Taino Beach Resort Feb 8-15 2020 Accommodations- very comfortable, great balcony overlooking the pool. Could see the sea from our room. The grounds are very well kept. The gardeners do an excellent job. The pool is loads of fun, from the slide to the lazy river. Staff- Connect with Steve, the activities director. Fabulous guy! Play games for prizes (RUM!) Taino Beach Resort, don’t lose this man, he’s GREAT! Beach- very nice but short. You can walk around the rocks to the east when the tide is out and get down to the main part of Taino Beach, or you can go a short distance down the road and get to the beach down by the Stoned Crab. Say hi to Bill, the 92 year old gentleman from Oakville who walks daily. He’s an inspiration! Snorkel by the rocks at the west end. Lots of colourful little fish to see. Watch for rays cruising along the shoreline. Extras- Head down the beach to the Stoned Crab for apps and dinner. Delicious, beautifully presented food. Maybe 2nd best burger I’ve ever had. Go for happy hour 4-6 for drink specials. Tony Macaroni’s for conch salad, conch fritters, conch everything. Ice cold beer! Also makes great shrimp Pi Pi. And yes, there really is a Tony and he’s a very nice, interesting guy. A little further down, over the bridge is Gully Wash for ribs. Smith’s point fish fry on Wednesday night. Go over the bridge to Gully Wash or Terry’s fish fry hut. A little less busy.
