I imagine in their day this was a great resort but it is worn down at this point. Not easy to access areas so be sure to either rent a car or bring a lot of cab money. Beach/pool day passes are sold to the cruise passengers so your nice quiet resort beach because overrun with cruise passengers 3-4 days out of the week.

The Taino beach resort was fantastic. We had a great time. Very large pool. Steps away from the ocean. Restaurant on site. Large rooms with plenty of space. The staff were so friendly and helpful. The only thing I would change would be a newer mattress on the bed-I felt like I was rolling toward the middle of the bed all week.

Resort is very clean and well attended to. Beach is private and sand is like powder. Rooms are spacious. Staff are absolutely the best! The Bahamians we met were most welcoming, and you could feel the love they have for their beautiful island.

Gorgeous beach! We enjoyed every minute. Staff were friendly and helpful. The pool is huge and we loved the water slide. There’s a restaurant on site and the food was very good. We hope to go back one day!

A resort was hit hard by Hurricane Dorian (2019) and the building we booked into, Oceans was damaged and is still being renovated even though it is still listed on RCI. Consequently, the resort had to squeeze everyone into one of the other buildings called Coral and although people, including us, booked a one bedroom we were expected to stay in a studio. We were there for 3 weeks and it was the worst accommodation we have ever experienced anywhere. The Coral building interiors are bright pink with uncomfortable concrete fixtures very much like a Fred Flintstone movie! We were moved from the studio (4112) to a one bedroom (4101/2) after the first week and a lot of complaining, but that was really 2 studios with an adjoining door and still with a bed in the living room that couldn’t be folded away. In the first unit (4112) we had no hot water, the air conditioning was stuck at 69 degrees. Neither unit had an oven, only stove top rings and a standard microwave (no convection), and the air conditioning ceiling vents dripped so we had to put towels on the floor so we didn’t slip. Both units had very week internet and in the back studio facing the parking lot there was no internet at all. The Flamingo Resort, which is over the road and is also part of the Taino Resort is more like a motel and had all the same maintenance issues. The Marlin building is the only building that is comfortable and worth staying in, but this is generally reserved for people who bought a week with the resort, not people through RCI. So Oceans building isn’t fit to live in yet as it is under renovation, and Coral and Flamingo are very substandard and should be removed from RCI. The only good building is Marlin. The grounds are great however, with lots of activities and a great beach, so if you can get into Marlin building you will have a good time, otherwise avoid this resort.

The resort and pool are wonderful. Everyone you meet at the resort and away from the resort are very pleasant and helpful. If you need extra supplies for the room the staff at the front desk was able to assist us. I highly recommend the dinner sunset cruise. Very fun and relaxing.

I was very unhappy at check in day when they said they only had a studio for two weeks for me when I had a one bedroom booked and confirmed for two weeks sense the month of Oct. Stayed the first night and check out the next morning. the room was way below my standards and my standards are pretty tolerable. Shower didn't drain, AC didn't work properly couldn't adjust temp. there was rust everywhere even in the toaster. You could here the neighours going to the bathroom at night. Pool and grotto bar looked dirty. Every thing was bad about this resort. Beach was nice but not maintained. Had one breakfast and no complaints about it or the service. I've been a RCI member for 23 years and this is the worst resort experence I've ever had and that's why I think RCI shoudn't be representing this resort. Now it's my problem to try and get some sort of reimbursment. Don't make the same mistake I did, just stay away from this one.

This resort used to be a favorite of ours. We have been here 8 times in the past 20 years. When I arrived I was told they were overbooked and they put us across the street in what I would say was a one star motel with no kitchen or outside veranda to enjoy overlooking the ocean. Totally unacceptable.

A hidden gem of a resort! Ocean views, pool views and friendly staff truly made this vacation a 10! The staff was very welcoming and helpful. The taxi drivers were also very accommodating. Smitty stopped at a grocery store with us, to pick up some basics on the way from the airport, it really helped get our first day at the resort started w/our own breakfast. Crystal at the front desk was the sweetest and most helpful front desk person I have had the opportunity to encounter. We had trouble with our internet, printing tickets and she went above and beyond to make sure we were able to get the problem solved. Check in/check out was a breeze. Melissa helped us schedule snorkeling, glass bottom boat and sunset dinner tour. (p.s. the glass bottom boat tour takes off from the ferry boat landing a block away and NOT at Port Lacoya) These were all great experiences. We made a mistake and missed one of our scheduled tours and Melissa made no bones about it and just helped us reschedule for another day. The resort is clean and neat, a perfect family resort. Water slide, shallow pool, hammock, Jacuzzi, lounge chairs and swim up/walk up bar grotto. Stopped by at the ocean side restaurant after checking in..... the most delicious burgers EVER!!!. Numerous visits to dine were all fantastic. From eggs Benedict, steak & eggs, Mahi mahi wraps, to bourbon bacon burgers all DELICIOUS, wanting you to come back for more. The wait staff was amazing and very personable. Beverages yum!

I read thousands of reviews before going somewhere, so I try to give a very detailed review that's helpful for others. As long as you know what you are getting, you will be happy staying here. We stayed through the armed forces vacation club and selected a 1BR. When booking this resort, be mindful of the room you are booking. A studio does not face the pool or ocean and has a bed, bath, jacuzzi tub, efficiency kitchen, and sitting area. The 1BR is actually 2 rooms connected by a small hall. This will overlook the pool or ocean. With this, you get the studio and a full kitchen, dining room, second bth, sitting area and Murphy bed. Also note, the bth/shower has a glass block wall, so you can see in. You can hang a towel on the shower for privacy while using bthrm. The hotel pushes timeshare talk. The hotel sells daypasses to their amenities 3 times a week to cruise ships. Expect on those days, the pool, bar, restaurant and beach to be more crowded. Also there is a DJ by the pool that in my opinion, was too loud, started to early, etc. There is one restaurant on property which closes early. The hotel drives you to the supermarket/liquor store for free (make sure to bring your own bags). There is a pizza place that delivers to the hotel. There are wash/dryers available. There are water sports available for free. The beach is PERFECTION. There are cabana huts on beach that are first come, first serve. CONS: you have to give a $10 deposit for 1 small beach towel per person. There are no cushions on beach chairs (and they are uncomfortable). There is no daily housekeeping all week. I did see 1 roach, but it was the rainy season and the kitchens are rustic though in working order. SUGGESTIONS: take a taxi to eat at Stoned Crab Restaurant. Also eat at the restaurant where they feed the sharks. Take the Sunset cruise the Resort has. Take ferry across way to Lucayan and eat at Cappuccino's Italian restaurant. Swim with the pigs!
