We chose to spend our one day on Grand Bahama Island at Paradise Cove and we definitely made the right choice. It wasn't offered through the cruise ship so we booked direct through the website. We were already glad we did as we watched at the other cruise passengers herded into large 2 decker buses by the hundreds. Transportation from the port was included in the price and we enjoyed the ride. The driver was great and gave us a little tour and information on the way. This is a hidden gem! Very laid back low key private beach hangout. We snorkeled the reef and our instructor was great. You can tell she loves her job and the ocean. Snorkeling was amazing. We seen conch, fish, stingrays, corals and sea turtles. The sea turtles were amazing! After snorkeling we enjoyed some local cocktails and Bahamian beers! They also have a restaurant on site so make sure you enjoy some local conch dishes! We tried both the cracked and grilled conch. Both were delicious! We definitely enjoyed our day here and would recommend anyone ona cruise to book the day here! Great place. Amazing people!…

Staff is extremely disorganized. The food takes a long time after you order. You have to stand in line to get checked in, get your tickets for equipment, back in line to return, back in line to give them a ticket you returned the equipment. It’s a CIRCUS! The “reef” is a joke! I had a great laugh. The two turtles I swam with made my day. The water is dirty and smells odd. I was told they could take us back at 6 when they closed, but you guessed it nope! That was a “sales pitch”. It’s a tourist trap in all regards. Paid almost $200! I couldn’t get picked up until 12 PM and I had to leave by 4:30 PM. Don’t waste your time and hard earned money. Free beaches all over you can go to and I know they’re much nicer. Will NOT return ever!!

Had an absolutely amazing time here. It is a locally owned and operated equipment and beach shop just off Deadman's Reef. We took a cab from the cruise terminal at Freeport, it took about 30 minutes. We did not realize you could arrange for pickup and dropoff from cruises on the website, but the cab driver we had knew exactly where to go. We rolled up at 0830 am and paid a $5 per person admission fee, $7 for two chairs and were in the water after a quick safety briefing, which included a description of what the best places to see wildlife were. There is an artificial reef close into shore with tons of fish, and we saw several sea turtles eating sea grass and generally chilling. We also saw a sting ray. Out past the rocks is the actual reef; we didn't make it that far but fellow snorkelers reported it was amazing. There is reasonably priced food, conch fritters, cracked conch and also burgers and fries. There are outdoor showers and changing rooms. The staff is all local, very friendly and very knowledgeable about the local ecosystem. There is equipment available for rental, as well as kayaks and paddleboards. This was our first time snorkeling in the Bahamas. The beach was very shallow during low tide and at times we were swimming in only 2-3 feet of water, which may be annoying for experienced snorkelers, but it's great when you're with kids. Out past the rocks is the real reef with a huge dropoff. Can't recommend this place enough, I would definitely check it out.…

Barry & his staff are a well oiled machine. I cant imagine a better way to spend the day on Grand Bahamas. From the ship we were picked up promptly and our driver gave us lots of historical information about the island and the people there. Barry takes safety very seriously and with this particular reef, instruction is needed in order to maintain the health of the reef so pay attention! The beach and reef are one of the most beautiful places Ive ever been. The food is great, equipment is clean and maintained and demonstrations for activities is available. Safe for all ages as the snorkeling areas are marked by zones.

The winds finally cooperated so we could snorkel at Paradise Cove before we came home. We visited twice before that but the waves were not conducive to snorkeling. The owner gave us an introduction and advised us where to go to see the sea life. Many fish at the reef balls to see and sea turtles further out. No manta rays while we were there. We did not venture beyond the reefs to deeper water where there is more to see apparently. Depending on the tide, a flotation belt might be wise which I did rent. A nice little shop for buying souvenirs on site. The menu was limited in the restaurant/bar. Definitely the best place on the island for snorkeling. The beach area was damaged by the last hurricane.

Quick email replies, and your reviews made selection easy. We were warmly met on time and place (Grand Celebration cruise) by Mr Parker with a nice mini bus. He advised us the weather canceled our snorkel trip and we can select a refund or a bus tour. Owner Barry was on top of everything by phone. Tour was nice. We look forward another opportunity with safer water conditions. BTW, because of another mis-informed couple that we picked up at Harley store, I recommend NOT using a third party and book directly with deadman's reef.com.

My family and I wanted a good snorkeling experience and Paradise Cove delivered. It was isolated so there were only a handful of people at the beach. We saw sea turtles, stingrays, and barracudas. I would go back anytime.

We visited Paradise Cove and had great time. Water was even warm enough for Florida residents to snorkel in December. Saw many sea turtles in close protected waters and nice reef at the drop-off 50 yards off shore. Kayaking was also cool we used a glass bottom one. Down side was some annoying no seeums and couple oil rigs off shore in distance but still a great place to go. Great Beach, food, beer, and excellent customer service await.

This has been by far one of the best experiences we have had while on vacation! This is a family owned business and you can see the pride Barry and his family have in providing guests with a once in a lifetime experience. if you want to experience marine wildlife in their natural habitat this is the place to go! The entire place was really nice and clean and the staff were extremely polite and helpful. The beach was beautiful and quiet which was exactly what we were looking for. Their prices were very reasonable for the experience you get. We will definitely be returning here on our next trip to Freeport.

Such a beautiful place! Barry, the owner was informative, friendly and very safety oriented. You can tell he takes great pride in conservation or marine life. They had only been open for a week or so from the hurricane that devastated much of Grand Bahama but he had already completed a ton of renovations to his property. We saw maybe a dozen turtles, some rays and tons of fish mostly in the reef balls he has had installed on the property. overall 10/10. Thanks for a great day Barry!
