Did not put me in the room requested. 4 nights there and never even tried to change the room for my family. Staff in royal tower were mean with the exception of the security adjacent to the bar. Just a waste of money
I read almost every single review on TripAdvisor about Cove and had high hopes, tempered by some fear that the negative reviews were more depictive of reality. I'm happy to report that this hotel and the entire Atlantis resort is INCREDIBLE! Our family often stays at luxury hotels and The Cove--- room and grounds-- were perfection. ROOM: We stayed on the 11th floor in an Indigo Suite which was the cleanest, most spacious room we have ever had. Our walk out balcony had a full ocean view where we could watch the sun set every evening. The balcony is large enough for two chairs and small table. The second French balcony overlooked Dolphin Cay where we would see dolphins jumping and playing for fun on their own (no trainers) in the morning and evening. The room was spotless and LARGE, almost 1,000 square feet. There is plenty of space to spread out and we never felt on top of each other. 2 TVs too (which we hardly used). We are a family of 5 and two people fit very comfortably in each bed (super comfy mattress and pillows) and our third child (teen) slept comfortably on the pull out couch, which the housekeepers made up for her each day. Before Housekeeping came each day, we made sure the room was in good shape, picking up clothes and tidying up before their arrival (also left a little tip for them) and when we returned to the room each afternoon, it was as spotless as the first day we arrived. They even placed out youngest child's teddy bears in cute positions around the room. Bathroom is huge and window overlooked dolphin cay. Closet is walk in, which I didn't think would really matter to me, but I appreciated being able to fully store all our clothes and suitcases so we really felt at home. COMMON AREAS: Spotless, smell like lavender and mint, need to wear masks, open air and views of the ocean. BEACH: We snorkeled at the Cove Beach and Paradise Beach. Cove Beach had more of a party atmosphere (but still not busy or rowdy) and Paradise was quieter, more families and space. Both were very good- lots of fish, but Paradise beach really blew us away. Within minutes in the water we saw many different kinds of fish, a sting ray, and a sea turtle who let us follow him around in the water for around 10 minutes. The water is crystal clear!!!! If you get there before 10am it is pretty easy to find a lounge with an awning. Make sure to have your Cove wristband on though as sometimes it seems like no one is checking and other times they often ask if you aren't wearing it, so just have it on to save you (and them) the trouble of asking. We also went for a run on Paradise Beach toward the lighthouse and even though you can't run all of the way there due to a large coral/rock formation, it was a nice little run with great views. WATERPARK: The River Rapids were soooo much fun! All the water rides, pools, etc. on the property are so clean! No strong, gross chlorine smell and our kids didn't react negatively (stomach wise) as they do if pools are not properly cared for (overcholrinated, not clean enough etc.) The slides had minimal lines and were thrilling but still felt safe. I do not like walking around public places barefoot, but honestly, again as I've shared, everything was soooo clean, I didn't mind walking from one slide or pool to another without my rainbows. Still be careful during the heat of the day the sidewalks can get very hot so you might want your flip flops. CABANA: We splurged and got a Bath Colonnade Cabana one day (~$1200). Yes it was pricey, but having a home base with shade, a fan, fridge, safe, lounge, couches, and table PLUS the lovely Anika graciously bringing drink and food orders, it was worth it! Our family and friends were down at the pool/beach/slide area from 9am-4:45pm and time flew by! Never too hot, thirsty, or hungry. Kids even napped there! Cabana 10 is steps away from Cove Beach and the Colonnade pool. Great location. We thought about switching to the Mayan Temple cabanas but even though they were closer to the slides, they seemed smaller, louder, less private, and did not have the ocean breeze as the Colonnade ones had. RESTAURANTS: Day 1: Seafire-- I was a little hesitant based on some other reviews but it was lovely. Very much like Ruth Chris Steak House. You order your main protein and then sides are separate, but family style. We each had the filet which was cooked perfectly. Brussel sprouts and fries were well prepared. One of our children had the kids rigatoni and said it was the best ever! Yes it's expensive, but we are used to that dining in DC and NY. Day 2: Olives--- Big disappointment. When we walked up we weren't greeted pleasantly, just asked to sanitize our hands. We were escorted to our table and sat down. It was like we walked in there with our children and another couple and their kids and the server right away made certain assumptions. All our kids know how to act right in nice restaurants and usually order off the adult menu. Server asked what we would like to drink and I asked for a wine menu. She rolled her eyes and brought it to us. We chose a bottle of wine and water for the kids. Then she asked us if we were ready to order. When I let her know we never received menus, she rolled her eyes again and went to retrieve some. Service continued like this throughout the meal. Food was just ok, and I would have been fine with that, but it was the service that put a bit of a damper on the evening. We tip very well and don't mind paying for good food and solid service, but this was ridiculous. Day 3: Nobu--- So happy to have the experience at Nobu after the disappointment at Olives. We've eaten at Nobu NYC so knew what to expect from the menu. The Squid "pasta" tasted just like I remembered in NYC and we placed 2 orders because the kids LOVED it. Our group ordered many, many rolls, Bahamian lobster, sashimi, tempura veggies and more. Food came out as it was ready. Our server, Shareem (?) was so joyful and attentive. He gave special attention to the kids and kept the wine flowing. Great dinner! Day 4: Room service---- We went on an all day excursion to the Exumas with Aqua Shores Luxury Powerboat Tours and swam with sharks and pigs and fed iguanas. All that time on the boat was fun but left us wanting to stay in. Room service was pleasantly and surprisingly good and our least expensive dinner of our stay. Burger was cooked nicely, large, and came with many toppings, fries, and a side salad. Lobster and crab cakes (2) were small but good. Kids pizza was hot and cheesy with tasty crust. Kids spaghetti was a smaller portion but still filled them up. Service was fast! Around 35 minutes. Special thank you to Rochelle (sp?) who helped find us a new charter excursion after our first booked one cancelled our reservation. Another thank you to the woman at the reception who explored why our food and beverage credit ($925) wasn't applied to our folio and quickly remedied the situation. Simons Transport, luxury SUV, to and from the airport was punctual, pleasant, and reasonably priced. We cannot wait to return to The Cove at Atlantis! Thank you for a wonderful vacation!!!!…
Beautiful resort, gorgeous rooms, pools and beach however the staff are unfriendly and money hungry. Sure they want our money and yes we are willing to spend it but to be this hostile made it very hard to be generous. I guess they know themselves to be this hostile so they auto included 20% tips for everything and everyone. From room service cleaning staff $18 our night to all dining 20% hidden tips. My recommendation, go somewhere else where you, your family and your money is appreciated.
My husband and I recently celebrated his 50th birthday at the Cove and from start to finish, it was an unforgettable weekend. Cove host Ajene was incredibly helpful and gracious; she recommend activities and facilitated reservations for dinners, as well as poolside daybeds and nightclub tables. Ajene also executed on custom birthday accessories and decorations on super short notice. All in all, the weekend was seamless and special, thanks in large part to Ajene’s assistance!
We spent 5 wonderful nights in the Cove. Our room was amazing and the staff was able to accomodate a few requests for young children. We choose atlantis year after year because of all the amenities and activities at the resort, along with the pristine beaches. We love visiting and seeing the staff we have met in years past.
Amazing trip. Some have said this is a dream vacation for any NFL independent arbitrator. WOULD highly recommend!!! Stayed with a large group of friends as a team building exercise. We bonded while playing golf and making fun of last year’s leadership.
Pools, beaches, and waterpark right beside your room. Not too crowded at peek season. Great aquarium and good dining choices. Full casino that never got too crowded. The most friendly staff in the world.
This is a money pit. Staff overall seem to be pretty unhappy people. The food is laughably expensive and terrible. For the money I spent at Atlantis I found out I could charter a yacht around the exumas for 3 days or go to margaritaville resort and spend half the price for a better experience.
Great resort. Lots to do. No low cost option on site, and must pay a taxi for anything nearby, which defeats any low cost option. VAT and auto grat knock up prices considerably, so that needs to be factored into your budget. Service staff at restaurant are not friendly, however, all other areas are great staff. Would absolutely do again
We had a nice king suite on the 16th floor with a great view of the Ocean, Royal tower and Royal pool. The room was nice with all the amenities that we needed. Our room was kept clean and plenty of water and coffee furnished by our housekeeper Mischel. She did an excellent job! We loved the Junkanoo Festival at the Marina and they also surprised us by coming through the Casino. Shout outs to Krista (VIP host), and also to Princeton and to Davano and Emery at Nobu. And also Jerome at the front and to Jackie our driver from and to the airport. She is so much fun to talk to and loves her job! We had fun playing at the Casino but didn't win this trip. So happy that Olives brought the Chilean Seabass back on the Menu and we love the Bronx Bomber Flatbread (had it three times!) Enjoyed Jose Andres's Fish Restaurant and Nobu. We also liked hanging out at the Seaglass for cocktails and late snacks. Also dined at Cascades (excellent Chicago dog) and SipSip (Burger was amazing!) Enjoyed the cove beach and Adult pool for relaxing. Saw some cool fish snorkelling the Cove beach. All in all a great trip and we will be returning in June next year!…
