#202 is a 2-story 4 bed/4 bath unit. There's a unit below this one, so you have to go up a flight of stairs to access this unit. On the 1st floor there is a large kitchen/dining/living space, a king bedroom w/ attached bath,a twin/twin room, a closet w/ stacked washer/dryer, and a detached bath. There's a balcony off the living space. It doesn't face the ocean, but you can see the ocean from one side of the balcony. The second floor has a small lounge/office common area, a queen bedroom w/ attached bath, and a king bedroom with attached bath. Kitchen was well equipped w/ dishwasher, fridge, microwave, stove, etc. There were adequate dishes and silverware. When we arrived, there were only 3 coffee mugs and few glasses, but when we pointed out the problem, housekeeping brought plenty more the next day (we arrived after housekeeping had left, so we did have to wait a day). Housekeeping was very attentive and came daily. The unit has A LOT of extra towels and wash cloths in the various bathrooms, so we weren't scrimping on towel use. Oddly, the upstairs master and office has central air, while the downstairs spaces all have separate HVAC units. The person who stayed in the upstairs queen bedroom said that room had an intake vent only, plus an air vent in the bathroom so he slept with his door open to get air from the common area/office. Initially, we had issues with each of the downstairs AC units (twin/twin blew room temp air, main room struggled and blew only slightly coolish air, downstairs master began dripping water and stopped functioning after a couple of days), however all units were eventually fixed and they adjusted our bill to reflect these issues. Viola's Restaurant, which is an open-air, covered on-site restaurant was a big perk to staying here. The prices were reasonable and the menu diverse. Also, the service was good. This unit was not close enough to the restaurant to be affected by any noise. The pools (2) were both nice, though I wish the big pool near the villas had more umbrellas for shade. Beach access was VERY handy--you walk out the back gate and down a flight of stairs and you're there. The beach is very pretty, white sand, etc. Umbrellas & chairs were available during the mid-day hours on a first-come basis. They were short on umbrellas during our stay. Atlantis is a short walk. You can get to the Beach Towers in about 7 minutes. At that point, you can pop indoors and take the enclosed walkway to The Coral and to the Casino. We bought Aquaventure tickets online and planned to spend a day there. We had a couple of hours there before a huge storm hit (lightning, torrential rain) and drove us away. So if you want to do Aquaventure and not stay at Atlantis, you do run some risk of not getting a lot out the steep price you pay for day passes. Aquaventure claimed that you could buy tickets only if staying in certain partner hotels, but no one every asked me to prove that I was staying at Sunrise (which is listed as a partner). Sunrise Villas provides coffee and filters. They did not provide paper towels, so we started collecting spare napkins everywhere we went. The decor is not modern, but for the most part, it is updated. The downstairs master shower is comically 80's but cabinets and countertops have been updated at some point throughout the unit. The wi-fi was good. They charged for it, but not outrageously and they didn't impose limits on the number of devices. Overall, we got a lot of space for the price. We had 6 people and room to spare (it sleeps up to 8). And the management was accommodating. If you want glitzy, this isn't it. But if you want to escape some of the Atlantis chaos but still visit when you want (plus do laundry! and reheat your leftovers!) this is a good choice.

Thank you for posting about your stay with us. We are happy that you enjoyed your visit overall. It was unfortunate that you experienced a few hiccups in the beginning of your stay but as you pointed out we solved the issues quickly. Please be advised that Sunrise Beach Villas does not provide the guests with beach chairs and umbrellas. We have partnered with another hotel to provide those items to our guests at no extra cost but it is on a first come first serve basis only. We are conveniently located on a very beautiful beach and within walking distance of the Atlantis Resort. Once again, thank you for taking the time to write your review. Have a wonderful day!

We stayed in Unit 16 (4 BR/4 ba) with family for a week during Thanksgiving. The location of the unit (and Sunrise Beach) can’t be beat – as close as possible to the water but far enough away from Atlantis to enjoy a quiet beach. Everything was within walking distance. The unit was immaculate and the maid service was good – plenty of clean sheets and towels. Although we were 10 adults plus a baby in a unit designed for eight, the hotel provided us with a Pack-n-Play as well as two rollaway cots at no cost. The unit has an ornate front door, one side door leading to the pool and beach, and sliding doors leading to the porch overlooking the beach, which is huge, well equipped with tables and chairs, and a BBQ grill, and has the BEST view of the beach anywhere! Our family ended up hanging out on the porch all the time. Internet service was good most of the time, but we felt as if charging extra for it was unnecessary and should have been included in the daily rate. The kitchen was well equipped with plenty of pantry space and modern appliances. The grounds are immaculate, including both pools, and very attractively landscaped. One of the highlights of the hotel is Viola’s Restaurant, which has a very beachy vibe and pretty good food, making it hard to resist and to cook in our unit instead. But what really stands out is the friendliness and helpfulness of the hotel staff. Everyone greeted us with a smile and genuinely cared that we enjoyed our stay. I have told many of my friends that if they are considering going to Paradise Island, Sunrise Beach Club is the place to stay.

From the minute Raisa welcomed us at the front desk to our last meal at Viola's, we considered ourselves so lucky to have discovered this awesome hotel. Just a few doors down the beach from the Atlantis, this boutique resort offered everything and more than we expected! Our "room" was actually a two-story townhouse, with a full kitchen, table/chairs, sitting area, balcony and patio looking out on the pool. The beach, just a few feet from the hotel fence, is absolutely STUNNING. (See photo) Violas offers three meals a day at prices we would pay at home....no upcharging here! I could go on and on about all the unique qualities of the hotel. Drinks are available at the beach as are chairs and umbrellas. Book it and enjoy!!

My husband, two teenage kids and I stayed at Sunrise resort. In the beginning we were a little skeptical because some reviews were bad and some seemed too good to be true. We are from Wisconsin and never been to the Bahamas and only could go on the pictures on the web. We stayed in villa 111. It was absolutely perfect and was everything we wanted. We had our own patio and balcony. The villa was clean, pools were clean, and a two minute walk to the sea. We had a king size bed that was very comfortable. The kids slept on a pull out couch and it was okay for a pull out. The bar and restaurant Violas was a plus. The bar is loud on Friday and Saturday nights till midnight which for us was no big deal. The food is delicious and the price was reasonable. The staff was great and friendly. Also the taxi cab drivers were great and can take you on tours for fraction of the cost of other places. We wanted to stay in a place that was very accessible to getting outside quickly to the water. This place was paradise! We didn’t have to wait for elevators and walk down long hallways to get outside to walk further to the pools and sea. My only regret was not remembering all the names of the awesome staff. We will definitely be back! This place is truly a gem!
