The Rosewood Baha Mar, nestled in a serene setting, offers a secluded atmosphere that is frequently enhanced by live music, as guests have called out. Travelers cherish the meticulously clean and comfortable accommodations, though some have reported occasional lapses. While the hotel's amenities, including the secluded beach, generally earn rave reviews, opinions on service and value are divided. Some reviewers praise the attentive care, while others warn of slow service and high costs, notably for dining and additional charges.

A true five-star hotel of the top class! The hotel and the rooms leave nothing to be desired – every detail is thought out, and you are surprised daily with small attentions.

We had a room with two king beds and sea views and enjoyed a great time on site as a foursome. Although the room was not huge, there was enough space for clothes, shoes and utensils, and with a little organization the bathroom space was also good enough. The beds were extremely comfortable, and the balcony was a real highlight for us personally. Another plus: the coffee machine in the room.

The facility itself is huge. The Rosewood is one of three connected hotels, all connected by the central casino. In addition, there are various shops, cafes and numerous restaurants in this area.

Rosewood has its own secluded beach area with comfortable loungers and excellent service. The beach chairs are coordinated by the hotel staff, so you don't have to worry about blocked seats early in the morning.

Dinner reservations can be challenging, and it is not always possible to get a table at the desired restaurant at the preferred time. Having spontaneous dinner is hardly possible here, although there are many restaurants to choose from. The various specialty restaurants are also very expensive.

The only downside: Organizing breakfast was sometimes quite tedious. Although Rosewood has its own breakfast restaurant, sometimes you had to wait a long time for a seat, which is unacceptable with a hotel of this category. Often we would dodge Starbucks or the French bakery, but even there the queues were long; in one day we waited almost an hour for our breakfast.

The adjacent water park is a highlight for the children and included in the price for Rosewood guests. The hotel pool is also well equipped and designed so that you never feel like it is crowded.

The service throughout the hotel is fully in line with the five-star standard. The sports facilities are modern and up to date. The casino offers a welcome change for adults (kids are absolutely not allowed) and is definitely worth a visit, even for non-casino goers.

A special change for the children is the arcade, a play area with the latest video games.

A trip to Nassau is definitely worthwhile, especially to the cruise ship terminal with a spectacular view of the huge cruise ships that come in and out daily.

Conclusion:
Although prices have generally risen sharply in the US, it is even more expensive in the Bahamas. The hotel offers a unique experience and first-class service, but dinner prices were surprisingly high for us.

Beautiful property, comfortable beds, limited kitchen in our unit. Housekeeping staff was lovely but did not know how to clean dishes properly in a dishwasher.
The beach was also beautiful but a bit rocky in the water. But it's a great place to go with young family members as there are several very shallow pools and the beach itself is fun.
Although we visited several casual restaurants due to having kids with us, I was still a bit disappointed by the quality of the food, especially considering the high prices. But I would return. Just beware of the water park during thunderstorms.

We liked the Rosewood Baha Mar. Compared to the general larger Baha Mar resort, the Rosewood was a tranquil, well landscaped corner with plenty of room to spread out and enjoy the beach or the pools. The beach was beautiful, nice soft sand, gentle surf, gorgeous water. Our room was a studio suite, 6th floor east wing, which was lovely, plenty of room to spread out, great shower, added bonus of a full washer/dryer and nice views out to the ocean. We very much enjoyed seeing the parade of cruise ships head out every evening along the horizon.

Front desk staff, bar staff at Manor and the Library, cleaning staff and pool staff were uniformly friendly and helpful. Boulud restaurant and Costa were both great, we had one dinner and one breakfast at Boulud, we had three lunches and one dinner at Costa (right off pool, in my opinion vastly superior to Tingum on Beach) and both were excellent restaurants. As for other restaurants on greater property, they were hit or miss. Food and service at Shuang Ba and Marcus Chop House were excellent, really top notch and the outdoor dining at the Chop House was really atmospheric and lovely. Cleo was not good, food was a totally mixed bag though I can recommend the pita like bread (delicious) and mushroom flat bread (crispy and flavorful), check in and service were shambolic and poor. Katsuya was meh, some food was good, some so-so. We are spoiled with excellent sushi at home so most places we rate against our local and Katsuya was nowhere near as good, the design was odd (felt like I was in the middle of a Shisheido makeup counter), our server was very nice and prompt but the check in again was poor and shambolic.

Overall we thought we may return probably for a 4 night stay instead of a full week. Nassau is a quick trip from East Coast, the airport was very well organized and quick to transit. We generally prefer low rise beach resorts (think FS Hualalai, Ritz Dorado or Rosewood Mayakoba) to having elevator high rises. We knew that going in and were prepared, the access to towers from pool area was easy, the elevators were super fast, really it was about as seamless a tower experience as you can have, but end of day we came away thinking we still prefer avoiding hotel hallways for our barefoot/bathing suit vacations.

I had the worst experience ever. When we arrived, we had to wait more than four hours for our room. While waiting, a lady at the library café offered us tea and coffee. We sat down and waited for over an hour. She chose the tea flavors and served the drinks in paper to-go cups, without providing any further service. We assumed these were complimentary welcome drinks. However, the manager needed the table and kicked us out of the library. As we were leaving, a lady shouted, "Your check," which amounted to over $80 for four teas and two black coffees. This was outrageous.

The next morning, our room lost power for over five hours, and the water was coming out dirty. Even after the power was restored, the water remained dirty for more than two hours, preventing us from taking a bath. We had to wash our faces and brush our teeth with bottled water, as if we were staying in a hotel in the middle of a jungle.

Additionally, I had specifically mentioned that there would be two people staying in the room, but it was only prepared for one. When we requested another robe, slippers, water, and towel on the first night, a very rude lady from guest services replied, "We don't have any robes; we will deliver it in the morning," and hung up on me while I was still speaking. The rest of the requested items arrived two hours later, which was unbelievable.

Every morning of our stay, we were woken up at 7 a.m. by an extremely annoying sound. When we asked about it, the response was, "Oh yes, that's the electric plant. It's normal," instead of offering an apology or a solution.

My dad and siblings were staying in two different rooms, and they experienced the same issues, along with additional instances of extremely poor service.

Aside from the bad service and terrible experience at the hotel, the restaurants were EXTREMELY expensive. I have never in my life paid $12 for a black coffee or $6 for a single egg. If you go, I highly recommend eating outside the hotel or buying groceries and beverages to keep in your room.

In summary, I will never return to this hotel. I would rather spend the money renting an apartment or a catamaran.

Having stayed at the Hyatt on a previous stay, our five days at the Rosewood gave us a first-hand opportunity to compare. Rosewood is a good alternative if you are looking for a slightly more upscale, laid-back and adult-centric experience. The rooms are elegantly furnished and well-appointed. The baths are luxurious, particuarily the soaking tub. The pool (really a series of pools) is outstanding, with several private areas. The service poolside was excellent. All this and direct access to all that the Baha Resort has to offer -- and that's a lot. Much better than Atlantis in our opinion. The only downside? Not surprisingly, the cost. Room rates are significantly higher than the Hyatt so you really have to want the special attention that comes with the Rosewood. It was worth it for us; it may not be for everyone. If not, the Hyatt is an outstanding alternative -- and you can still enjoy the restaurant and cozy Rosewood bar!

My wife and I we're on our honeymoon and had booked a very very high end local Airbnb. When we arrived at the Airbnb, it was an absolute nightmare. It was dirty, unsanitary, falling apart, completely falsely advertised. We were in the rain, at night, in a country that we've never been to and found ourselves completely homeless. There was some complication in switching our phones over so we didn't even have the ability to call anybody to check for local availability at a hotel. We have been traveling all day, we're tired, dirty, hungry, didn't have any communication, or place to live.

We had to leave the Airbnb and decided to go to the closest hotel… We pulled into this gate and the security guard had suggested us going to the Hyatt versus the rosewood. Evidently the rosewood was quite expensive and the high it might be able to serve our needs better however when we got to the Hyatt, it was quite the party town. My wife and I are both sober and a nightclub with drunk folks on our honeymoon was certainly not the vibe we were after. We ended up at the rosewood and when we got there, Way (the concierge) was so incredibly welcoming while we felt completely out of place. It was total shock what was going on with us…Way what is trying to show us how to book a room and although incredibly pricey, we had nowhere else to really go. She was kind, gentle, encouraging, uplifting, reassuring, generous, and while my wife was trying to manage the logistics of everything, I was starting to have a nervous breakdown. Way recognized my need for console and sent this woman named Dianna. She immediately wrapped her arms around me, wiped my tears, sat me down on the couch and ministered to my soul.

Not did they provide such incredible service, but they continued to shock and amaze us with their kindness for the next few nights that we stayed there. Dianna walked us around everywhere…provided incredible door to door service to restaurants, brought gifts to this absolutely spectacular room that Way provided. They went above and beyond to make sure we were safe, comfortable, and every need was met. They recognized the severity of this crisis and instantly became woman that I will forever remember as being godsends. No matter how many times we complimented these two women specifically to all their bosses, they are worth their weight in gold and I could never sing their praise enough. Not only were those two women spectacular, but everybody on the staff was friendly, upbeat, energetic, we were pampered, and we wanted for nothing. The linens in the room are absolutely stellar, kitchen, food, pools, landscaping,…just everything was a dream. It was so incredibly clean, quiet, the views were mesmerizing and breathtaking. Although our stay was far too short, we will go back just so we can see the staff again.
It brings tears to my eyes even writing this because there will never be enough words to recognize what these two women have done. They have changed our lives forever and what they did for us during such a crisis was nothing short of a miracle.

Positives:
This is a really stunning hotel with beautiful grounds.
The pool area is gorgeous and peaceful with a lovely warm pool.
The resort sports area, especially mini golf, all beautiful and well maintained
Flamingos are a nice bonus.
Water park is not huge but brilliant and not too busy. Great for little ones too. We went every day and loved it.

However, we were just so disappointed overall.

I’ve seen some reviews saying the service was amazing. For me it felt so fake and over the top. When it wasn’t, it was just plain rude.
Maybe I’m being cynical but I felt like staff were just always out to get tips, despite service charges being added automatically and huge resort fees. Maybe this is a US thing so I’m unfamiliar with it but I have no idea what it was supposed to cover when we felt like we were being charged (extortionately) at every possible moment on site.

The room was cleaned late afternoon - I’ve never experienced this before and it was not ideal when we’d come back to the room in the afternoon with kids and it was still not done. Then occasionally got turn down service at random times.

There was hand lotion in the shower instead of conditioner as expected. We moved this to the sink in case it was a mistake but it was put back.

We were in room 110 and this was always cold and felt damp. It gets no sunlight, nothing can dry outside and we had to take a few days’ damp beachwear to our sun beds on the last day to get everything dry.
Although we turned the air con off, I was still having to have hot showers to warm up. Just not comfortable at all.

It is very difficult to get a dinner booking anywhere once you arrive. No central booking system so look up restaurants and book before you arrive or you’ll spend a lot of time messing about and just being told by concierge that you have no chance unless you want a pizza at 5pm every night.

We were surprised that no kids meals ever came with salad or veg anywhere - it was difficult then to find healthy things for them to eat for the whole holiday.

There were several mistakes with our room bill including being charged for a bottle of wine that our family had arranged to be in our room and had paid for in advance!!!
By the end of the week though, this wasn’t surprising. We made several requests to front desk etc. while we were there such as ice on more than one occasion, and they were just ignored.
We went on a brilliant boat trip, and then they tried to charge the room for transport to the trip (which we walked to 5 mins away). No idea if this was some kind of scam but even the tour cost itself was eye watering.

There was no cot in the room as requested and then when housekeeping finally brought this they hung around clearly looking for a tip.

We’d love to visit again as it’s a beautiful hotel and location, but there were just too many frustrations and disappointments to ever justify anywhere near the huge and disproportionate cost.

Pool staff around the lagoon/family pool let this place down.

1. They reserve the best loungers around the pool for favoured guests (ie. Those who have tipped them to do so) and ask you to move if you are in somebody’s spot - no first come, first served here. We would sit all day and see these guests roll up late in the day letting the loungers nearest the pool/in the sun etc. sit empty all day long.
2. When I asked for help with some additional towels after a bird pooped on our lounger, one of the staff did not unfortunately realise I was around the corner - he queried why I couldn’t have got my own towel - but not in quite such a complimentary tone or language.
3. Pool staff playing each other at poolside games or huddled at their station chatting whilst there is food and drinks discarded around, or beds need refreshing.

I spoke to management about all of the above but there was no evident action taken. This was the first time staying in a Rosewood brand hotel and we were not impressed with the level of service and would not recommend or stay again. Note sure whether this is a location issue or Rosewood issue, but either way does not reflect well on the brand.

Overall very much caters to the mass US market, and favours long term guests and regulars. If you want a more authentic experience head out to the remoter Islands. We had a wonderful experience visiting Exuma and Harbour Island. Highly recommend Coco Mer airplanes for this, they were fantastic.

We were supposed to spend a week at the resort in October. When we arrived and they checked us into the Rosewood, they never mentioned there was no hot water after a pipe had been broken during ongoing construction. The water was off for 2 days. The option we were given was to take our toiletries and clothes over the Grand Hyatt where they would give you a room to shower when you needed to. It was pretty insane.

We ended up leaving 2 days early. My favorite is upon checkout when they told me they had comped me 1 morning of breakfast for our troubles. It was so absurd I just laughed out loud and said thanks. I won't ever stay at Rosewood Bahamar again. The SLS has better service fro less money.

This was our second visit to the Rosewood Baha Mar and an absolutely wonderful stay with the Rosewood team. It’s a beautiful property with great service and amenities. The kids club was a highlight of this trip for all four kids in our group (ages 4.5 - 9.5) Eugena and Felecia did such a great job with fun activities for the kids they were begging to go each morning. They loved visiting the Sanctuary and aviary. The kids (and adults!) also loved the water park on the Baha Mar property. There was a ton going on while we were there from 4th of July events to cooking classes and a reception with Bahamian artisans and appetizers for Bahamian Independence. The Activities Manager, Ricarra, is hard at work with so much fun planned for all ages. She was so warm and friendly and made sure to introduce herself on the first day and share some of the highlights for the week. Its nice to be able to break up the pool and beach with some extras when you want a break from the outdoors.

We had a regular room, but they are very large size and have a nice balcony. We brought pizza back one evening and enjoyed it overlooking the view of the beach and pool.

The food on property is plentiful with tons of options for type and a range of prices. There are take away options, food trucks, fast casual and higher-end options for all taste buds.

A really nice touch were the refillable water bottles and stations with cold water around the property. A nice , sustainable way to stay hydrated and cool!

One of my favorite things during both visits is how quiet the property feels around the Rosewood. The greenery around the pool hides crowds and makes it feel like there aren’t as many people there.

Overall, an amazing trip and we will definitely be back.

Is it worth reserving cabanas or is it easy to come by umbrellas and lounge chairs?

Cabanas are always private and comfy; however, re Rosewood, reserving umbrellas and lounge chairs are never an issue especially if you reserve with a pool attendant early morning. Not a problem if you do your morning ritual, your chairs will be there for you. The pool attendants, servers and beach staff at Rosewood are exceptional just like the front desk, bartenders and housekeepers. Rosewood is the only way to go! Enjoy!!

Hi, my apologies for the delayed response. Hope you enjoyed the Rosewood and noticed no strict dress codes at the resort. I’m returning from my third Baha Mar vacation. The Rosewood never disappoints my daughter and I. Happy Safe Vacationing in 2024!
