Our family spent a week in the Waterway Condos in Nassau Bahamas and we were very pleased with our accomodations.

We enjoyed the comfort of the rooms and the surrounding area. The kitchen was complete and allowed us to make our own meals when we wished. However, we ususally chose to visit the local restaurants where the cusine was terrific.

Waterway was quiet, clean, private and extremely relaxinig. The staff was pleasant and attentive. Owner, WIlliam Delancy, went out of his way to make sure we were able to find all the activites we asked about. The opportunities for fun are endless, including great fishing. If you like to Bone Fish this is the place. The stay was awesome.

I could not have asked for better place to stay with proximity to all the attractions in Naussau but with a little distance to allow for great down time and privacy.

Waterway is right on a canal and only a few short steps from the beach, which in reality, was essentially a private beach time we were there.

I highly recommend Wateway as an affordable and private place to stay while visiting Nassau.

We were a group of 8 people from teenagers to seniors. The place was large and clean. Plenty of room. It is on the quite side of the island with nothing around. No pol but the ocean is just across the street and no one at the beach. Charlene is the best, like family. You must rent a car and driving is on the left. Waterways is 20 min out, there are no buses out that far and the taxi was expensive. There was a small motel with restaurant within walking distance that we tried. it was awful and I do not recommend it. We plan on returning again and recomment it to everyone, cant beat the price. There is no daily room cleaning or daily frsh towel. clean up after yourself. you get on e package of toilet paper, need more buy it yourself. leave place clean on your last day. there is a laundry room and charcoal grill for use.
Nassua is a wonderful island with plenty to see and do. I have been a couple of times and it is my favorite island thus far.

Loved our stay at Waterway. Condo had everything we needed and everyone was so nice and accomodating. I was so happy to be away from all the others tourists and have the option to explore the beaches all along the Island's coastline. One thing, you must rent a car if you stay here, not really within walking distance to much, but totally worth it.

The people are really friendly. The location is near the beach, not the most beautiful beach off the island, but almost private! The house is clean and there are enough clean towels. Great place to stay with a group. Not to expensive.

I have been travelling to the Bahamas since 1969, have never stayed on this side of the island or for that matter rented a condo. Waterway Condo is a gem. I must concur with kplatz, Charlene is like family. Mr Delancy, the owner, is very nice. Anything you want to know, just ask them, they will not let you down. Yes the condo is on the otherside of the island, however living out here is how you get a flavour of the island, it's relaxing. You could stay on Paradise Island and even at Cable Beach, but you would not get to meet, in the way I know them out of the touristy areas, the people of the Bahamas. They are wonderful and the reason I keep coming to visit. Now about Waterway Condo, there is a public beach across the street, just great, and Mr Delancy has entrusted himself & employees to keep it clean. They don't mind if you take the lounge chair over either, just bring it back. We even tried our hand at fishing in the canal - bring a bobber, lol. The unit was very clean and certainly big enough for more than the two of us (2 full washrooms). You do need to rent a car, as there are no busses and taxi may be expensive. We rented a small car comfortable enough for 4 for about $278 US including taxes for the week. It is worth it, when you consider round trip taxi fare from airport could probably run you $100. This way when you have a car you can really experience the flavour of the islands and the wonder people of the Bahamas. For entertainment try the Poinsianna, hope I spelled that right, on Friday's and Saturdays they have a great local band which play both Bahamian music, so you can dance the Meringue, and everything else you can imagine with a touch of Bahamian flavour. Cost to get in is $8 per person and drinks are a little expensive, however you can feel confident that the crowd is there to have a good time only. You might also like to try Jack Sprats, good music, fun, no cover, and drinks little less expensive. In most local bars you can get a fith of a bottle and mix for about $6-7 US. Be careful, for us Canadians the liquor is much stronger. Try a Kalik, the Bahamian Beer, about $2-3 US in most local bars. Good places to eat the Fish Fry and Potter's Cay. Potter's Cay is quite an experience. If your feeling adventerous try chicken in a bag, about $4.50 US, Bahamian fried chicken and fries. You can get best from Keith's chicken, ask around, however, it doesn't open until about 9 p.m. but is open until early moring. Bamboo Shack also has chicken in a bag, good but not as good as Keith's.

Dealing with the management was great. They were helpful from my first email until I departed. They were available to assist every day but other than having some wonderful conversations were not needed.
I was in a 3 bedroom unit. Each room had its own washroom making it a great location for friends to stay. The unit was clean and we were greeted upon arrival by Charlene. She assisted us to the unit and spent time to answer all of our questions.

Located in Coral Harbor on the south west of the island, this Condo is away from the busy Nassau traffic. If you are wanting to get away and experience a secluded beach this spot is for you. If you are wanting to tour the island I would recommend a rental car or making arrangements with a local taxi driver for your needs. There are no taxi's travelling past but there is a phone in the unit to make local calls.

I will definitely recommend them to friends and plan to visit them again on my next Bahamas adventure.

My husband and I stayed Thanksgiving week with two teenage boys. If you want to pretend you are in Vegas then go stay at Atlantis. But if you want to experience the real culture and people of the Bahamas then this is the place to stay, minutes away from the airport. Charlene the manager welcomed us on her day off and made sure we had everything we needed, she spent her own time giving us restaurant and tourist advice to keep us off the beaten path, which is our idea of a wonderful vacation. She always made us feel like her #1 client. Mr. Delancy, the owner, took us out on his own boat for a private snorkeling tour. We saw beautiful fish in three distinct environments, within minutes of the condo, enjoying front door service. The beds were comfortable, showers great, and you really felt at home and safe here. Although there was a little store and restaurant within walking distance, you need a car to get to other restaurants, national parks, snorkeling spots and a lovely wine store about a five minute drive away. The little local beach across the grass and down the path was great to go over and watch sunsets at the end of busy days. We throughly enjoyed our stay.

stayed for 2 nights in march 2014...on our way to little deadman's cay on long island
Charlene and Willie are the BEST hosts you could ask for.
Charlene has answers to all your questions.

this condo is in a residential neighborhood, very quiet and private.
you will need a car, as it is about 20 minutes from the hustle and bustle of down town and the airport. we new we weren't going to leave the property so we opted to get a taxi instead of a rental. ($35)
just remember to stop at a store for grub and stuff before you let the taxi go.

a private neighborhood beach across the street, that the locals don't use, so virtually you are on your own beach.

there is one bar/rest. in walking distance.

perfect spot if you've had enough of the tourist junk and just want to enjoy the bahamas and the water.

we are anxious for our next visit!
tell'em teresa sent you!

I travelled to Nassau and stayed in a 3-bedroom condo here in early March with a group of 8 guys, college students to 30's. The condo was very clean and comfortable, and it's right on a pretty waterway with a deck overlooking it. There was plenty of room for all 8 of us to sleep comfortably. It was stocked with toilet paper and everything in the kitchen, including the coffee maker, worked well. The wifi was also very fast. The owner, Mr. Delancy, was there to greet us upon arrival and took about a half hour to sit down with us and give a great overview of the island - things to do, places to eat, and even some history. He is very knowledgable and it was extremely helpful.
The beach is about a 5 minute walk, a pretty nice walk, from the condos. There is a cool beach bar to go to here, complete with a volleyball course. We had 2 rental cars for the group, which were not expensive, and are pretty much necessary staying here - and made seeing the island and doing all our activities (boat charter, scuba diving) much easier. We were able to fit so much more in than if we had stayed at a resort without a car, while also having common area to hang out and space to cook food. We didn't end up spending much time during the day here, and could still make it over to Atlantis at night.
There is a shopping center about a 5-10 minute drive away that has a grocery and liquor/beer store. I left $100 at the condos and Mr. Delancy was kind enough to Paypal me the amount upon finding it - have you ever had that happen at a hotel? If you stay here you will get a much more fun and complete Bahamas experience while also having the opportunity to do everything you would if you stayed at the much more expensive resorts. I highly recommend choosing these condos and renting a car over the other options on the island. Plus, the fish fry is on your way into downtown!
