Overpriced and isn’t maintained well I understand they wanna keep things vintage and experimental but pillow cases , bedsheets and many other stuff could have been replaced or well taken care of AC was making annoying noises so you can sleep unless you turn it off Pillow cases was literally oily and smelly. Room key didn’t work for 3 days I had to get someone open the door for me every single time I go to my room Overall I recommend you to find another place to stay or just visit for lunch dinner or for a drink
One of worse lunch meals we have ever had! We ordered the beef kabobs done medium well. It came to us almost raw. Overpriced and we were very disappointed after thinking we were going to have a 5 star meal. We would never recommend this hotel restaurant. From 1 to 10 rating, we give it a 3. Don’t waste your money.
Many of the rooms appear to be out of service. Bellman moved steel barricades showing us to the room. My wife really wanted to leave but since our stay was only 1 night before moving to Baha Mar we stayed. Baha Mar is a beautiful resort and I would recommend staying here in Nassau.
Average service. Gym not available and even no renovation. No drop off and pick up Area. Pool water was not up to the standards and no lifeguard and pool services. Hotel needs proper maintenance. Hotel Manager doesn't care about customers.
Wow, this hotel somehow claims it is 5 stars? Services & facilities are more like 3 star. Service was poor. They tried to mischarge us for things we never ordered, we compared notes and it wasn't just us. It was ironic as we rarely got served in the bar or patio and would have had a lot more drinks. Lots of tourists wander in and right back out while you are sitting there and it's just bizarre. The room was tired and under-serviced. Very odd establishment, we thought it would be nice to stay somewhere old fashioned rather than a new resort, but nope.
A RAT literally ran past me on approach to the door of our room. I frequent and love the Bahamas and was super excited to stay here as a wine lover after I read about the cellars and wine list. Unfortunately it was a huge disappointment. The room assigned was down a one way street with no sidewalk, above a tourist shop that blared music from 10-5, half block from the main building. There was a weird back way to the shop/ room too, past disused reception and spooky, abandoned communal areas. I booked room with a “garden or pool view” so I thought I would have no problem getting them to change our room. We schlepped everything back to the office asking to change rooms, and got a hard no without apology. All they could offer (eventually) was a room change the following day, but we were headed to a wedding that day and it was logistically impossible. Friends who booked the same place on my recommendation had the most expensive suite in the hotel and were treated obseuquiously when they had a problem. Which felt weird and icky for all of us. On a happy note, the wine cellar was cool to tour and the restaurant makes a big effort. In short, this place is run down, trading on old reputation, and has a bait-and-switch approach to advertising rooms. Staying there was uncomfortable, unsafe and unsatisfactory. But if you are curious about the place like I was, a wine pairing lunch or dinner is a great alternative to a stay!…
We are currently staying at the Graycliff in Nassau and our experience has been very disappointing so far. We were looking for a unique place rather than a standardized hotel room but considering the hotel has five stars and charges accordingly (>3000 EUR for four nights without food and drinks) we did expect service and staff to be experienced and friendly. So far the lady at the reception has not been helpful at all. No information was offered on the hotel and its facilities itself or the surrounding. For every little thing we had to ask ourselves (location and timing of breakfast, pool location), no towels were provided at the pool until we asked, same for food and beverage service at the pool. Housekeeping didn’t show up until 1.30pm. The room itself is very big and mostly clean. Definitely also not worth 5 stars but again that’s something we expected and would have been okay with if service and staff were better. The extra bed for our daughter was not provided when we first arrived, despite having been confirmed by the hotel prior to our arrival. Internet is free but very spotty. The food is ridiculously expensive (eg USD 18 for a kids pasta with butter that was so small that we had to order a second portion for my 8 year old) and on top of the already hefty price they charge 10% tax and 18% gratitude fee at the end, making it USD 45 for a kids pasta with butter. We were really very much looking forward to the stay but so far we feel more like a nuisance than treasured guests. I do hope that our experience will improve over the next days but as of now I wouldn’t recommend the hotel at all, especially considering the price. To me half the price for both food and accommodation would be adequate for the service provided but certainly not the price that they are charging.…
This is such a sweet, charming, hotel that is full of character. The beautiful tiled pool is a real must-see, surrounded by comfortable loungers. Service miraculously appears to bring you a towel. The grounds are just lovely. Their restaurant has gracious, formal, service but still friendly. Food is very good. This really is a peaceful respite from the craziness of the mega resorts. Stay here for charm and personal service.
Great stay at Graycliff Hotel, one of the monuments giving witness of the glorious Nassau’s history. A place to stay if you are seeking comfort and old fashion luxury. Our room was nestled in a beautiful tropical garden, close to the swimming pool. Great service has to be highlighted. Good restaurant, refined but too expensive.
Stopped in to see if it would be worth switching hotels. First we saw was the pool littered with leaves, obviously not cleaned in a few days. Walking into the lobby the staff were otherwise occupied, left and will stay else with better value for the price.
