My wife and I took a three day weekend to Bahamas. Our first time in Bahamas was a good experience. Hotel was nice and quiet. Bar onsite. I was introduced to Kalik beer and Vitamalt health drinks. There are very comfy cabanas on the beach and there is also a pool. The staff will loan you snorkel gear. The location... More

This is a magnificent old resort - old is the key word...built @1923 I think. I enjoy this type of property as it is the anti-cookie cutter property and has history and character. The beach is what it is - it has two selling points-the entertainment from watching the cruise ships and being somewhat private and calm. If you want... More

My family, which includes my husband and three small children, cruised into the Bahamas and decided to do a day pass at the British Colonial. It was by far my favorite excursion! Although not offered through the cruise, which kept the number of people "day passing" at this hotel to a minimum, we research and found the value for the... More

For my fourth trip to Nassau, I was looking forward to staying somewhere new. "Public spaces" e.g. lobby, bar and restaurant and clean and well appointed. But that's where it ends. Carpet in hallways is worn to the point of being threadbare. Towels had holes and were worn. AC in fitness center doesn't work (they had one fan... didn't really... More

Stayed Aug 15th-17th. Hotel staff was courteous, check in was quick. I got a Harbor View upgrade, which was on the Executive Floor(6th), amazing, and very quite(sshhhh). Loved every moment of it. The bell men were helpful to us, in our search for great off property places to eat. We ate lunch on property on the beach, for 2 days,... More

This hotels check in is 4:00 pm, we weren't able to get in our room until after 5:00pm! This may not have been an issue any other time but we had been there all day, arriving at 8:00 am. We even paid the extra fee to get in the room earlier! So we rested in the pool side cabana all... More

I am a pilot and travel to Nassau all the time for work and I always stay at Hilton family hotels when traveling for work. The first thing I noticed was that the service was worse the bad. Make sure you plan to pay for entire stay in advance and check that you don't have any unexpected charges to show up on your card. Otherwise the location is great if you want to experience authentic Bahamas. Food stops directly across the street and tours leave near the marina. Great shopping in the Straw market. Don't forget to stop... More

This is an old but grand hotel. The facilities are excellent, but the staff suffers from indifference with respect to taking care of your needs. It often takes a long time before they finally decide to do their job.

What’s more the hotel is only 25 minutes from Nassau (Lynden Pindling International) Airport. The hotel is a true Bahamian experience with a marble-tiled lobby and is studded with palm trees under a skylight ceiling. There are 288 luxuriously appointed guest rooms with harbor or island views. All rooms are furnished with tasteful decor, complemented by separate shower and bathtub. One-bedroom suites offer a separate living area with sofa bed, and Executive accommodations are also available along with the Executive Lounge, where attentive hotel staff assures that every need and whim will be met during your stay. Recreational activities are convenient and varied for leisure and business travelers alike. A 300-ft long private white sand beach is furnished with lounge chairs and thatched sunshades overlooking the harbor offering a peaceful and secluded access for an ocean swim or a day in the sun. Use of kayaks and snorkeling gear on the beach is complimentary. Bordered on one side by a tropical garden, the hotel's freshwater pool offers harbor views and has an expansive sundeck with lounge chairs and umbrellas. Both the sundeck and beach offer views of cruise ships moored nearby, and of the western tip of Paradise Island, 300 yards offshore. Guests can snooze in hammocks on the lawn adjacent to the pool. The property can also organize trips out reef snorkeling island exploring, boating, golf, tennis and scuba diving. For dining options, Aqua is a fun, casual restaurant serving international favorites with a Caribbean flair, or guests can meet up for cocktails at the Bullion Bar.
