Breezes Resorts & Spas garners praise for its beachfront location and the friendliness of its staff, though some guests have experienced slow service. While the live entertainment is a hit, the hotel's atmosphere receives mixed reviews due to outdated decor and a sometimes noisy environment.
Opinions on value vary, with affordability highlighted, but some travelers feel that amenities and food quality don't always meet expectations. Cleanliness is a strong point, with well-maintained areas noted, but the rooms and amenities are seen by many as in need of an update.

Detailed Reviews
My wife and I visited in 2011 for a wedding and we werent thrilled. We had reservations about returning this time with a group of 12 close friends. I'm happy to say this hotel is much improved. We came in with the expectations that the rooms would be dated and the food would be bland. We were impressed the rooms were newer and the food was great. While we didnt have specific interactions with the staff, we found them pleasant and helpful.
The asian restaurant was wonderful and the meatballs were some of the best we've had. The italian restaurant was also nice. On the night when only Garden of Eatin was open, we chose the buffett, which had something for everyone. Breakfast was great every day and the pool snack bar was also tasty and fast.
We brought our own cups (recommended) as the mixed drink cups are small. We tipped $1 here and there and it was appreciated.
The pool was cold, but on sunny days, it was bearable. They seem to have gotten the seagull problem under control. Beach was beautiful and well maintained. Also colder, but it is January.
We visited the Baha Mar casino and while the casino and hotel was very nice, it was very expensive. This makes the all-inclusive Breezes that more attractive.
A few negatives:
1. Some of the rooms are adjoining rooms and there's a door in between. This allowed for sound to pass through at night. We had a noisy neighbor who had guests in his room. The front desk was quick to quiet them down.
2. You cant reserve dinner reservations anymore, so it's first come, first serve. If you arrive after the seating, you have to wait until the next seating.
Overall, this place is great for the value. It's not a 5-star place, but a place where there's something for everyone.

First off, the beach at this hotel is incredible - the most beautiful beach and ocean I've ever experienced at a resort. The hotel is really run down and old looking though. Only 2 restaurants were open out of the 5 days that we were there and there are only 3 restaurants on the resort so, we weren't able to try the asian restaurant. The italian and French restaurants were great though but long lines to wait to get in which was unexpected. The buffet was a total disappointment with very limited selections. The local cuisine in the buffet was amazing though and they should definitely include more of those types of items ie the mutton curry was delicious. There is only one bar outdoors during the day and one in the lobby at night. The lobby bar staff are incredibly friendly, the pool bar staff all seemed to hate their jobs and were incredibly rude and unfriendly. Anytime I asked for water I was directed to pour it in myself from a giant blue tank at the back of the bar which had no ice, I finally gave the same attitude back and insisted on getting ice water as other guests were being served ice water. Felicia the bar tender was incredibly friendly though. There were cats on the resort which I found absolutely disgusting and one would even beg for food when eating outside during the day or night. Our room was very dated, no mini bar in the room, no water bottles so bring your own reusable water bottle to this resort. The beds were comfy but the pillows smelled wierd and were lumpy seemed as though they have never been replaced. Our balcony sliding door would not open and there was no balcony anyway. The cleaning staff are amazing and do a very thorough job. The beach towels have to be returned by 5pm daily otherwise you are charged $20 per towel which I thought was ridiculous and I've ever experienced that at any other resort. They suggested we use our bath towels if we want to stay out longer which are tiny. The hotel gym is great. The lobby is outdated looking and the entertainment at night was super lame. Overall the resort falls below expectations but the beach views and experience by the ocean were worth it.

Just got back from a week at Breezes. I guess I can see why some people say nice things about the place. If you don’t care about the dated room décor, cold pool water, limited dining choices and incessant speaker blaring by the pool then maybe this is your place. We typically look for smaller, adults only, all-inclusive resorts – which this is. But there are such nicer options out there all over the Caribbean.
It’s low season – which is when we typically travel to avoid the crowds and have a more relaxing experience. Like many other resorts, this one has a primary buffet and multiple a la carte dinner options. Every other place we’ve been typically CLOSES one of their a la carte restaurants each night. Breezes only OPENS one of them – leading to long lines and frustrated guests.
You’ll notice that Breezes makes a big deal on their website about No Tipping Allowed. These may seem like a nice thing, but in reality, it ends up having the opposite effect from a service standpoint. There are no servers working the pool area to bring you drinks (unless you pay extra for a Beach Butler). You have to go to the bar instead of them coming to you – which is a first for us. And there was a general sense of ambivalence on the part of the staff. There’s no motivation to provide great service, because they aren’t working for the tips. Some people did tip. I didn’t see where it made a big difference though.
The buffet food was OK – not bad – not crazy good.
Our experience at other Caribbean resorts…Jewel….Excellence… is way better service than we experienced at Breezes, much nicer atmosphere, much more diverse evening entertainment – all during low season and all at the same price point. Breezes could clearly make a few minor – relatively inexpensive changes and really pick up their game.
Not a bad place….but not a place we’ll return to.
Having said that, the Bahamas are amazing. Nassau is fabulous and we enjoyed the culture and the food and the history on our off-resort excursions.

We have traveled to many islands and stayed at plenty of all inclusive resorts. We are easy low key travelers and our expectations were not high especially after reading the reviews for Breezes Bahamas Resort & Spa.
The resort is extremely outdated, with 60/70’s style decor and run down furniture. The rooms AC units were strong and kept the room nice and cool. Unfortunately, the rooms had no balconies, no ceiling fans, no coffee maker, or mini fridge and most importantly - no water available except to purchase from the gift shop at a premium. It is very easy to get dehydrated by baking in the sun, and having alcohol. We were really disappointed by the lack of water available.
While the bathrooms have been slightly modernized, the positioning from the faucet to the sink was misaligned, causing water to constantly spill over on the counter. The water accumulation coupled with the lack of an exhaust fan caused mold to grow on the bottom of the sink.
Also, when the housekeeping staff cleans the rooms, they replace the used towels with half the initial amount. When returning to our rooms for a shower we only had 3 towels to clean ourselves with. When questioning the housekeeping staff everyday their response is “they ran out of towels”
The service was excellent from all staff. The food was actually quite decent, not sure why all the negative reviews. There was plenty to choose from and the Bahamian Chicken & Rice was outstanding. We were also satisfied by all the restaurants except for Martino’s the italian restaurant. We would recommend avoiding this one at all costs. The Garden of Eden was very romantic and the food was also great. This vacation provided us the relaxation we needed.

My wife and I along with our college daughter and her friend booked a night at Breezes for one night before we joined our cruise out of Nassau.
I was excited as it was rated as the #5 hotel in Nassau and was "all-inclusive" so I thought this will be a nice evening to relax at a nice resort before we get on the ship. Boy was I wrong! This resort looks like it hasn't been updated since the 80s (when it was probably in its heyday) and was overrun by a bunch of college kids just yelling and screaming as if they've never been out on their own before. The drinks are below rail and the food was barely tolerable. We could hear all our neighbors around us in the room and the housekeeper started screaming "housekeeping" at 8AM and could be heard in all the rooms. Fortunately, the resort was right next to the Baha Mar resort (which I knew nothing about prior to this visit) and we ended up over there for dinner which was amazing! I have NO IDEA why Baha Mar is considered a lower ranked hotel than Breezes on Trip Advisor. That is a travesty. Yes, Baha Mar is more expensive but, from a value standpoint, it is head and shoulders over Breezes. The only positive I can say is that I felt like the staff at Breezes was genuinely trying to be very helpful and nice but they have a very poor product to represent. I would highly recommend steering clear of this "resort" if you have any sense of wanting a positive experience.

You get what you pay for I guess but honestly the food here is just plain horrible. Stayed 5 nights and the only thing during this time that I could consider 'this food taste good' was the steak I had one night. No restaurant in the world would survive serving this kind of food honestly
Other than that the rooms are old but still OK, location at beach is very nice but the swimming area very small. The pools and all is decent
At least the alcohol is free to make you forget the food

If you need to unwind; go to Breezes! The staff is so kind and helpful. We rented a cabana, went to a private dinner, went to Stuart’s Cove, and went to town for shopping! Mind you, this is the summer of the pandemic and most people are not traveling. Yet, Breezes is open! The staff is incredibly friendly and so happy. The room was clean; we went with the patio garden view. I was so impressed with the food because even though the restaurants weren’t open, they still kept the same quality of meals offering a variety of cuisines from each restaurant. They even gave us complementary tee shirts during our visit. We slept well every night in our king size bed (you have to request this because some rooms have double beds) after a soothing dip in the ocean. I highly recommend renting a cabana each day ($50/day) because you will have a butler who will bring drinks from the bar and food from the beach grill. Breezes is all-inclusive and they mean all-inclusive. There is never any surprise fee and they truly do not allow tipping. This was our second time vacationing here and guess what? We want to come back again! I have never felt such a connection to a vacation spot before, but the Bahamians are such delightful people who work their best to make our visit exceptional. My husband and I just wish that we could switch roles for one day and serve them! When we told our waiter this, he laughed and said, “we are just glad that you are here!” They are just that wonderful!

We stayed at Breezes as a huge group on a work trip. The trip was for a lot of people coming from across the world so we needed somewhere all inclusive that could accommodate us all.
Overall it’s not a bad place. The rooms are really dated and need modernising but I have to say the bed was incredibly comfortable, and it was all clean. The bath towels were tiny, not a bad shower, again the bathroom was clean but in need of a revamp.
The resort itself has lots of on site entertainment, several bars including a piano bar which had a pianist taking requests and we all sat around singing along, which was great. The club is also not bad, handy to have on site and open until 2am although one of our party had an accident as the floor was wet with drinks and he slipped and cut his head - they were probably a bit lax with ensuring that the spillages were mopped up although it’s a problem wherever you go. I think maybe they should just be a bit more aware of it in future to prevent future accidents.
The food is ok - breakfast is great, a great selection of food available. Lunch also good and the poolside grill was also really nice, ideal for a casual lunch outside, the jerk chicken was especially good. For dinner the buffet was quite limited, the food wasn’t bad but not a great choice of food overall, we were only here for 3 nights so didn’t get to try the a la carte restaurants. Also, our transfer to the airport was at 6:45pm and we couldn’t find anywhere to eat beforehand on site, we asked if we could eat from the buffet a little earlier but we were told an outright no even though the food was out and ready which was disappointing and somewhat lacking in customer service.
The beach is lovely, the sand soft and the view beautiful.
Overall this wasn’t a bad resort, I think if you’re doing The Bahamas on a budget this is fine, there’s no bells and whistles but there’s booze, food and sun beds. There’s absolutely no luxury here at all, but if you just want to have a laugh with your friends, this is definitely a reasonable option.

My wife and I spent 3 weeks at this resort in Jan/Feb 23 and found it to be fairly clean, but the whole place is very dated. The room we had was mostly clean, but the shower appeared to have some mold in the corners and there were definitely not enough plug ins to suit our needs. Bed was not the best. The music while lounging around the pool was extremely loud and the announcing was even louder which was very annoying. They did not seem to take into consideration the age of the clientele as to the music selection and rap seemed to be their choice. When we arrived, we were greeted with a welcome drink and very friendly service. Also, there were signs all over indicating that the resort was 100% non smoking with smoking not allowed in the common areas of the hotel, the pool deck area and also the beach. There were several people smoking on the pool deck, around the pool bar even though there was a designated smoking oasis on a raised cabana above the pool bar. People were smoking while seated at the restaurant seats outside the buffet area and they were not approached by the staff to stop smoking unless you asked a staff member to have them stop. We found this to quite ignorant of the guests to ignore the no smoking signs. There were three al la carte restaurants on sight, but no reservations could be made and you had to line up at the door of the ones that were open that evening, with having to get there half to 3/4 of an hour before just to get a seat. There were only 2 of the restaurants open on any given night with them in rotation. Staff shortages appears to be a big problem and several of the staff appeared to be just in training. The bars were also a big problem with opening times. Three bars were on site, and only the pool bar was open during the day. The lobby bar was not open until 6:00 pm and the Pelican Piano bar didn't open until 6:30 pm. The selection of drinks at the pool bar and lobby bar was limited to very cheap well drinks. No premium liquor could be found there. The Pelican bar was the only one that would serve some premium liquor and even that was very limited in the selection. The nightly entertainment was excellent, with Funky D putting on a great show, but because of the lack of sound deadening material in the building, the noise was almost unbearable. The same goes for the Pelican Bar and when several people were in attendance, you couldn't hear yourself think it was so loud. We found that there was no shortage of food and there was a good selection at the buffet. The staff at the buffet were very helpful, friendly and attentive. As it is, we felt that we were ready to go home after 2 weeks. We will not be returning to the Bahamas and have some reservations about recommending it to others because of the deficiencies we found. The resort is definitely in need of a major upgrade. If it wasn't for the friendliness of the staff, I would have rated this resort as a 2.

I personally don't eat gluten or dairy free so I didn't pay attention to that. I will say that I would not believe anything that they told you. This is the worst resort that I have ever stayed at in my life. Beware.
Yes, there is a desk in the lobby with lots of brochures that you can look at & book excursions. The prices vary for what you want to do & for how long. I have booked scuba diving there & the price is reasonable plus I was picked up & returned via shuttle.
The Breeze resort does have elevators. I was on 1st floor, but walked by elevators each day to/from room.
