This was my first experience at a hostel. It was a good intro. I booked a private room with a private bathroom. It was as advertised and clean. Bring everything you need as they only provided towels and toilet paper. They have 2 pools and are right next to the beach. The staff was very friendly. All the ladies at the front desk were super helpful. The chef was also great. The most bang for your buck as far as meals go. No VAT or additional gratuity and the food is actually really good! The jerk chicken was amazing. The male front desk attendant was useless. Very lazy. (I think he was named sherman?) They advertise being a yoga / wellness spot, but everyday I asked about yoga and it never happened. (stayed 5 days) I would recommend pre-booking your activities instead of booking through the hotel. The tour operator did not want to book our turtle snorkel because it was only the two of us. It was fun to meet other people, but be aware - lots of millenials. Some were great, others you could tell were out and about for their first time so they were LOUD. Quiet time is around 10:00. When big mama was working this rule was followed, and much appreciated. When the male attendant was working, music would be blasting past 11:30 PM. Easy to walk to several restaurants, the beach is next door and the #10 bus stop was right outside. I would probably stay here again.

I attempted to stay last month just for one night cause I had a layover in Nassau. I prepaid online months before and when I show up to the establishment with my boyfriend the man at the desk is confused and said that they only have women beds available. As I already paid for the mixed dormitory, I was confused because I never said asked for the women only dormitory. I asked the man what we could do and he told me he could show me to the bed but not my boyfriend. Then I said okay where should my boyfriend go and he said he has no idea and he’s not the person to ask this question but there was no one else working. He then goes along looks in the rooms for an open bed I assume but comes back and nothing changed. Then the man left the property for the night and we didn’t see him again. So I prepaid to stay here and then never got to. I then called my credit card for a refund and they contacted the property and Baha Seas refused to give me my money back. I had to take a taxi and go pay for another hotel that night even though I already paid I just didn’t have a bed to sleep in. Baha Sea has not been helpful in the slightest even though this is a problem of their fault due to poor organization. A waste of $100. I have never encountered another hotel so poorly organized they don’t have a room/bed for their customers. Definitely stay ANYWHERE else!

The hostel has a nice view from the ocean and bathrooms are pretty ok! But SHERMAN, the guy from the kitchen and the front desk treat you like tras. We got here after hours and the reservation was not well made and they not only had us in the wrong room but only 1 bed when the reservation was made for two. The morning after when we requested breakfast the service was extremely bad until the point where Sherman, the ame guy who welcomes ua last night raised his voice and treated us very disrespectfully and denied to make us breakfast. We had the reservation for two nights but thanks to this unpleasant and extremely bad experience we had to cut out stay at this place for one night. Terrible experience.

I want to start this review by saying that if you are trying to find a cheap place to stay, but still want the luxuries of staying in a resort, then this is not the place for you. I’ll start with the positive: I really enjoyed my stay at Bahasea!! The location of the hostel was right on the water and next to a private beach. The views were incredible. I really liked that Bahasea wasn’t close to downtown and all the resorts, but we were still able to get to these places by a quick bus ride. The dinner served was so good and a good price, cheaper than eating out most places! The staff was friendly and helpful. Bahasea is a hostel, so a lot of young, solo travelers choose to stay here. This is great if you want to make friends and socialize, if this isn’t something you are interested in, then a private room or a different hotel would be best. Things to consider before booking: I’m sure if you are reading this review, then you have read other reviews as well, so I won’t sugar coat things. This place can get noisy. While it is right on the beach, it is also next to a major road, so I could definitely hear cars pass by all day and night. From my private room I could hear people walking above and people talking outside. This didn’t bother me much, but I could imagine someone who wanted a quiet vacation would be bothered. Bahasea isn’t the cleanest. We did have 1 cockroach in our room, we assume it came in through the cracks of the door. Other than that one incident, we didn’t see any more. The hostel looks to have but affected by the recent hurricane and hasn’t had time to fix all the things that were damaged. They were doing some construction while we were there. I read some reviews about the staff being rude or whatever, I can only imagine that the people who wrote these reviews were people expecting to be waited on hand and foot and who were expecting an all-inclusive resort. The staff was friendly and helpful, but they are too busy to hold every guests hand throughout their stay. This place is owned and operated by natives of the island and not a hotel chain owned by the Chinese. So, be patient with them and they will help you. Overall, I highly recommend this place to stay if you are young, sociable, or on a budget! (Not saying older people can’t stay here, it just seemed to me that the older people I saw were not expecting the type of environment that Bahasea offered). I hope this review helps you in your decision making and that if you do choose Bahasea that you love it as much as I did 🥰

This hostel was mostly clean and the location was nice. I booked a girls only dorm. I didn’t know there would be 18 beds which was kind of a lot of people for 1 room. We had 2 showers and 2 restrooms which worked out okay. The room didn’t have any lock so people from other rooms walked through the room often, including guys. After 2 days the water wasn’t working for a whole day and the fridge stopped working too. They fixed it but it was annoying because it took them a while to fix the water problem. The hostel had 2 small pools and 2 nice common areas. The staff was mostly friendly. I think it’s a pretty good deal if you want to travel on a budget.
