Wonderful property. I had a week booked here for my birthday but due to travel issues I was only able to stay two days. The two days we spent here were paradise. The studio villa was large and had a nice view. The staff was great, the waitress at snorkels was very welcoming. The pizza in the coffee shop made for a great snack and the coffee was always great. We enjoyed our trip so much we are booked to go back for 8 days this September. Can’t wait to be back!
So disappointed…. We have been owners here and stayed many times and usually have been treated well. Not this time… We were not able to check in till 5:30. Then got stuck in their oldest, 1 bedroom unit. Our view is power lines and a dilapidated building. We are 1/2 mile from the resort. The room is outdated. Obviously not a great way to start what should be a fabulous vacation…
Just checked in at the Westin St John’s today. We have been owners here for a long time plus we are Westin 3 Star Elite in the Westin Timeshare System. We have stayed at this resort several times, we made a hefty investment in purchasing a week in the Bay Vista section. Last year the sales people asked us if we wanted to purchase an extra Encore promotion to have us come down again at reduced rate to try to promote us into upgrading our Westin membership to even a higher status. Unfortunately we believed the sales person that because we are owners that they would give us a two bedroom Villa to stay in during that promotional stay. The resort has mostly 2 bedroom units. We called in a couple of weeks ago and requested a few room locations that we would prefer if possible. Unfortunately when we arrived today they told us that they put us in the oldest section a long ways from the resort. We had a bad feeling about this section and location. We asked the front desk if there was something else available considering that we are owners of a really nice section and location. The gentleman at the front desk was no help. When we arrived at the room, we realized our concerns were confirmed. The villas are the smallest they have, VERY outdated and a master bathroom you can barely turn around in. Extremely small patio with a view of several power lines. You don’t even feel a part of the beautiful Westin Resort because you are so far away. Not to mention our room was not cleaned and available to us until around 5:30 pm. So much for rooms being available at 4 pm. Once again, being an owner didn’t mean much. Unfortunately they weren’t even friendly about it. It is really disappointing that the Westin would treat long time established owners like this. You would think that after spending a great deal to own with them, that you would receive some preferences over non-owners, exchanges and renters. Extremely disappointed with this experience so far. Kind of funny the whole reason they talked us into this Encore Package was to promote us to buy more time with them. This experience has made that decision much easier.…
Had a great time in St. John’s US Virgin Islands. Weather was great 2 cloudy days but still made it a fun time by ordering cocktails under an umbrella. No stopping us from having a good time👍🏻 Westin was very nice. Very friendly staff- went out of their way to make you feel at home. Beach-pool and restaurant were excellent. Short taxi ride into Cruz Bay to enjoy numerous bars and restaurants. We also took a one day excursion to Trunk Bay to enjoy the beach. Take plenty of sunscreen. There are showers & restaurant at the beach. Had a great time- can’t wait to go back 😎
I would highly recommend this resort. It has everything you need. You can just come on vacation and enjoy!! The service people were very nice and helpful. The transportation staff was very accommodating. Overall a 10!!
St. John is our favorite place to visit regularly and we are loyal Marriott customers so we have stayed at the Westin 5 or 6 times. On this trip we spent 3 nights here before a week long villa stay elsewhere on the island. We took the Westin ferry, and though we waited quite a while for the ferry, overall it is very nice to take the ferry directly to the hotel. I would definitely use this service again. We booked a studio and we received an upgraded room… a 2 bedroom villa, back just a little from the pool so that was great.the room was fresh and clean… newly remodeled, so we were very happy with the room. The landscaping at this resort is beautiful. The grounds crew does a fantastic job. Because this is a villa resort there is not as much service as you would expect at a typical hotel. The service that we did receive was very friendly. However, I definitely think they could ramp the service up a notch. We spent a whole day at the pool and I don’t think anyone ever came around to ask for our drink orders. The food and beverage service is, as a whole, far below where it should be for a nice hotel. We ate all of our dinners in town which is a good solution for an adult couple but it doesn’t work for everyone. We had breakfasts in the morning at Lemongrass which is a lovely setting. Service here was nice. We had complimentary breakfast due to Platinum status (thank you very much) but for $27 it would not have been worth it. The omelettes made to order were certainly the best feature.they had prepackaged pastry, apples and bananas ( no fresh fruit platter with pineapple, strawberries, mango as you might expect), no freshly baked items. The bagels looked like they came from Sams Club. Lukewarm coffee. The drinks at the main bar by the pool were ok, but nothing felt fresh… mostly prepackaged blender drinks. The whole f and b staff should take a trip to the Westin Grand Cayman, a very comparable hotel where they serve great drinks and delicious food that feels freshly made. However, even though the f and b is not nearly where it should be I will stay here again. This hotel has a jewel of a location on the best island in the Caribbean (in my mind), nice rooms, beautiful grounds. If they could just ramp up food service it would really be wonderful.…
The staff here were very kind. Especially Timmy he was very nice and would often ask how my stay was! All the waterfront staff were very kind and patient! The taxi service was very convenient and fun. I would love to come back again! Definitely a great time!
Beautiful accommodations and views! They just opened another restaurant for breakfast. Service is exceptional. After being hit by a hurricane and then covid, it is nice to see this great resort get back to normal!
The Westin St. John Resort Villas is the most amazing resort experience we’ve enjoyed. We enjoyed a 2 bdrm, 2 bath villa right off the pool area. Enjoyed coffee every morning on the balcony that overlooked the pool and beach. The location of the bar between the beautiful white sand beach and pool was wonderful. Our front desk receptionist “Q” was amazing. Her pleasant personality, smile, and very positive attitude was fantastic. We will certainly return. Mr. Raymo’s complimentary bottle of wine was so appreciated. Thank you. Greg and Barb
Timmica at the snorkels Resturant was the nicest server we had. She went above and beyond to show us love on our last day. Brandon, the golf cart driver, was most pleasant and welcomed us each time onto the cart. I will say Michael Knight, the bag collector, was by far the most attentive, personable staff member we met. Michael went above and beyond to help us on our last day. The resort is clean and well manicured. The bay is full of boats and feels more like a marina than being on the ocean. About 20-25 large boats block the view of the horizon. You cannot see the sunrise or sunset from this resort. There are kids at the resort and the pool could get rather loud. The resort does not have a quiet pool / area. I would NOT recommend the “private” ferry transfers. It was 124.00 per person for the transfers. For a party of seven … we could have rented a boat for four hours and toured on the way to Red Hook. Staff other than the three staff members above, I felt like we were a burden to everyone we met. By far the right hand doesn’t talk to the left hand. If you get a late checkout or an upgrade “promise/try” make sure you get that name, address and phone number. Every time we asked the front desk for help from towels (no maid service), broken phone in living room or booking an excursion I felt like we were an imposition. Going to town was 7.00 per person each way from the “westin cab”. So almost 100 per day to shop or eat lunch or dinner or watch the sunset. I took the time to book this trip with my family and I chose St l. John to support the island. The room was nice but the beach view, the lack of restaurant options and the staff interaction will send me back to the Ritz or Frenchman’s reef condos.…
