Cruz Bay Boutique Hotel is an intimate accommodation made up of 10 guest rooms and one penthouse apartment suite. The hotel was completely renovated in 2010 and 2013 blending chic Miami boutique hotel decor with the more casual style of an island villa. The result is a clean, simple yet elegant venue. The hotel is conveniently located in the heart of Cruz Bay town's best restaurants, bars and shopping. This lively location is the perfect spot for accessing all of St. John's beaches and attractions. Just around the corner from the ferry dock (only 250 feet away), Cruz Bay Boutique Hotel is the closest accommodation upon arrival to St. John. No taxi or rental car is required and there are no hills or winding roads to traverse - just stroll on over.

We stayed three nights during Covid and everything was wonderful. The hotel is located steps( a few blocks) from the ferry so you can walk right up with your luggage. Check- in was a breeze and the room was very clean. Mini fridge in the room. Mask wearing and sanitizing took place. Dave and Denise were perfect hosts, made us feel comfortable and took care of any details we needed help with. There is a deck on the second floor and plenty of space to have breakfast or relax in the evening with a cocktail. Ice buckets are provided upon request. Breakfast is provided. Coffee and light snacks, fruit. Our room was comfortable and you can walk to all the restaurants and around town. Taxis are close by for a ride to Trunk Bay. We did the hike to Salomon and Honeymoon beach. Nice trail. We practically had the beaches to ourselves! Not crowded at all! The restaurants were great. We will come back!

Hotel's Favorite
I have been to St. John several times, and I knew when booking this trip I wanted to be "closer to the action". There is nothing closer to "downtown" Cruz Bay than the Cruz Bay Boutique! Yet, it's quiet and unassuming. From booking a room online to checking in and then eventually and sadly checking out, everything was just fantastic! Nice website, easy to use, picture so you see exactly what you get. What you do not see until you get there is the friendliness and professionalism of Denise and David. If you need anything, just ask them! Best places to eat, best beaches, etc. they know it. Nice touches like included continental breakfast, beach chairs to borrow, bug spray and suntan lotion, all there for you. You feel safe, although not much crime in St. John anyway, behind a locked gate that you have the key to. My room was on the smallish side (hey, it's in the Caribbean) but all I needed. Queen bed, nice shower with plenty of hot water, and all very very clean. When I return, this will be the only place on my lodging list!!!!

We have stayed at Cruz Bay Boutique hotel 4 times, and it is always a wonderful experience. The location in town is great, walkable to absolutely everything, which is high priority for us. Luckily, the accommodations and staff are equally amazing. The front desk is always ready with fun suggestions for your day, and there are beach chairs and coolers available to borrow free of charge. There is no parking on property (except to load/unload in front), but we are always able to find free parking not far away. Two good places are across from the fire station near the Little Olive food truck, or across from Mongoose Junction where there is side of the road parking (not the reserved mongoose spots, but public parking across from the ball field). There is a pay parking lot nearby as well, something cheaper than Wharfside Village. Back to the property! There is a second story open patio for anyone to use, with several seating areas. Space was always available anytime we wanted to have a meal or drink there, or wind down for the day. Beach towels are provided, 2 in the room and you can exchange daily at the desk. Rooms are not giant but are certainly spacious enough. Ours had enough room for two suitcases to be set out and open, a room mini fridge, a small clothes hanging area, and to still move about comfortably. The bed and bedding were good and comfortable. The AC was a window unit and amazing, we are guilty of sleeping in ice cold conditions on a regular basis. Bathroom was shower only, but who uses a hotel bath? Only took minimal contortions to shave my legs. More importantly, everything is bright and fresh and clean. I like that. Room service is offered daily but we declined for our recent 5 day stay, since cleaning and extra people with COVID nowadays can be stressful. Covid 19 related items- Our room was very clean and spotless, you could smell the cleanliness, but chemicals were not so overused that you would be concerned to be breathing the air, which is a real thing nowadays. Staff said policy was to clean rooms thoroughly and allow a few days between guests, so you aren’t moving into a room just hours after someone else checks out. Staff wore masks at all times. (BTW, I say “staff” but it’s always the two most wonderful people, David and Denise that we see at the front desk. They are wonderful people and we love supporting them by staying at this establishment!) The hotel has a great vibe, and they make you really feel at home with that personal touch. We are early risers and always had the lobby or shared patio to ourselves in the morning. Coffee and a few breakfast snacks are offered to get your day going. A few notes on St John during COVID- In town, people only wore masks to enter businesses or in crowds, not walking along the beach in front of the bars. Masks were required at restaurants until seated. No one at the beach wore masks, because there was plenary of room for everyone to stay apart. You could easily walk the beach and not ever feel crowded or too close. There will be no pictures of packed St John beaches popping up. Tourism seemed moderate but manageable. I know USVI just suspended tourism, (8/15/20) but hopefully it will be back soon and safely. When it is, think of visiting David and Denise at Boutique Hotel! The islands and individuals will need the support when they open back up, and this hotel will not disappoint. Sorry I don’t have hotel photos, but I posted a beautiful pic of Trunk Bay from this trip! Stay here, and go watch the sunset at Trunk Bay every night!

I have just returned from exploring St John for the first time . I am a solo traveler and found the perfect place to stay . Cruz Bay Boutique Hotel . Owned by Denise and David who took perfect care of me in every detail . They offered advice on what to do ; kayaking , hiking , beaches . The hotel has comfortable rooms and continental breakfast . They offer beach towels , beach chairs , sunscreen , repellant and unlimited advice about the island . I let Denise make all my dinner reservations for 3 nights . Perfect choices to experience the variety of restaurants . The location of the hotel is a 5 minute walk from everything including the ferry from St Thomas . Just a wonderful personable experience . Thank you so much Denise and David ! I loved it !
