#3 of 7 B&Bs / Inns in St. John
"Treetops" is a 3-guest room bungalow nestled amid the wooded hilltop abutting the National Park in Fish Bay - the south side of the island. We are only two and a half miles from the ferry dock in Cruz Bay, located in a quiet residential neighborhood. Renting a vehicle (most people rent jeeps) is a necessity. We are the "affordable and adorable" alternative to pricey villas and large resorts. And best of all - we had no hurricane damage so we are up and running and accepting reservations through mid-June in each of our three rooms. "The Captain's Quarters" is an air-conditioned 2-room suite with queen size bed and a single day bed, kitchenette, lavatory, and private outside shower. "The First Mate's Headquarters" has a queen size bed, fridge and microwave, full en suite bath and private deck. "The Bunkhouse" is also air-conditioned, has a queen-size bed, fridge, and lavatory and shower. There is a gas grill available for guests' use. Coffee and muffins are available in the morning.

We had an amazing trip in St. John and loved our stay at Treetops. It is a fantastic location in Fish Bay - close to some of the more remote beaches the south side of the island as well as an easy drive into Cruz Bay and the north shore. We stayed in the Captain's Quarters, which was clean, well maintained, had AC, a small kitchenette area and outdoor shower. Hank & Karen were amazing hosts beginning with excellent communication and directions prior to our arrival. Karen made an amazing breakfast for us each morning, and we really enjoyed our conversations with them. They are true experts on the island, with lots of great recommendations. Another perk, they provide guests with clean beach towels, beach chairs and coolers - everything you could need! I highly recommend Treetops for a stay in St. John and absolutely will be making a trip back ourselves soon!

Close to town, tucked away in the hills, a delightful change from 7 years along the Audubon property in Cruz Bay. Homemade warm pastries every morning with fresh Caribbean fruits and more to start the day. Conversations and laughter with Karen and Hank who know this island better than the back of their hands. We did the most new exploring with their recommendations and every suggestion was spot ON! So many highlights this year, and our final day was spent on Pot Luck, Capt Hank and Karen's boat, for a day of touring, snorkeling, swimming, lunching from the Pizza Boat on Christmas Cove. What a ride! Our room, Captain's Quarters was perfect with AC and window views. There are plenty of spots to read, relax (especially the hammock), take in the views and gardens. Loved the outdoor shower in the rain with a frog joining in ~ ah, the great outdoors. Looking forward to a longer stay next time.

This was our seventh trip to St. John, and our only regret is that we didn't find out about Treetops B&B until recently; we stayed in the Captain's Quarters for three nights, but wish it had been longer! Treetops is a relaxing locale, with hosts who make you feel rigtht at home. This is a great home base, with easy access to Cruz Bay, north shore beaches, and all points east. The morning breakfast exceeded our expectations -- fresh cut-up fruit, freshly baked pastries, juice and hot coffee...and great conversation. What else do you need? We will be back!

I normally dont write reviews but I'll make an exception. I went with a friend and stayed in the bunkhouse, the smaller of the rooms listed. I had planned on only being there to sleep not much caring about where I was staying during my stay on st. John and turned out that was one of the things that made my trip so special. Hank and Karen were fantastic hosts and wonderfull people; they made me and my friend feel at home. The breakfasts were amazing and I looked forward to seeing them every time we came back from hiking each day. They gave us recommendations of places to see, and helped us often without asking. First time using air bnb and couldnt ask for a better experience. If you're going to st. John, this is where you want to stay.

Treetops was truly a little slice of paradise. Our room, the property, the hosts, everything was wonderful. We stayed in the First Mate headquarters for four nights while we explored VI National Park. The view from the deck of the valley was beautiful and we loved having breakfast prepared by Karen each morning. We would certainly recommend this place if you're looking for a quiet place to stay on St. John.
