This friendly, small hotel is a gracious, relaxing way to begin a USVI trip. The rooms are each different, the small garden and sitting area overlooks the island, and your hosts couldn’t be more friendly and helpful. We stayed here at the beginning and end of our St. John trip

Family memories are what vacation adventures are for! And thanks for letting me play photographer for your family! The kids are adorable! Enjoying the Virgin Islands is easy from The Green Iguana Hotel, since we are centrally located on the island's south side, no place is really more that 20 minutes away. Driving on the left side of the road takes a moment to get used to, but it's not bad. We are happy your days fell into place and your time with us was a true "Caribbean Adventure!"

We are sorry The Green Iguana Hotel wasn't suited to your taste. We do advertise we are at the top of the Historic 99 Steps, on Blackbeard's Hill. The sheets and bedspreads are only about 6 months old at this point, we try to make the rooms look homey and comfortable, most enjoy that comfort! Everything was replaced post hurricanes. We wish we could have the island bury the power lines like they have started in the Town area, however we have no control over that, I'm sure you understand. Nor do we have control over holiday parties in the neighborhood. We realize we still have some detail work to do in the rooms, the squeaky door is on our list. As you saw the hotel's layout, there is really no place for vending or ice machines, however we do offer many suggestions for room provisioning. I believe you were here Christmas Day, after your holiday with the family. We informed you we were going out for Christmas Dinner and that you could reach us by the phone number on the back of your key tag should you need anything at any time of the day or night. Could you send photos of the cracks in the walls? Via Email will be fine. We didn't see them and would like to take that up with our contractor, in case they missed any detail we also missed during our hurricane rebuild. Thank you for your honesty.

St. Thomas is a special place and a six-night stay at the Green Iguana was a wonderful way to experience it! Gwen and John were wonderfully welcoming and helpful to us as we immersed ourselves in the Island life. We relaxed in our wonderful room or the roomy balcony with

Hello again Jennifer and Joe! Thank you for your review! We are ecstatic the major work is finally completed at the hotel and we are enjoying our Guests as you tell us about your day! We are so happy you were able to find your way around our little island so well! Six nights on St. Thomas is a good stay, with plenty of time to enjoy the daytime activities and the more local oriented night time activities as well! Please come back often!

We have stayed twice at the Green Iguana and enjoyed ourselves immensely both times. The management is friendly and very knowledgeable about St. Thomas. The rooms are well appointed and the hotel is well situated to downtown St. Thomas without being in the middle of downtown.

Thank you for your review! We love our return Guests! That's when you become friends. As you know we were blown away by the 2017 hurricanes, it feels good to be repaired and open to visitors again! See you next year for a third visit! We hope so!

The taxi is usually $5 per person, some charge extra for luggage. The St. John Ferry is $13 from CA, Tortola Ferry is approximately $45 to $50 per person plus baggage. The Town of Charlotte Amalie is about a 5 minute walk down the Historic 99 Steps, or via the Government House Steps. Once in Town and along the waterfront from Havensight to the Airport are about 50 great restaurants, and more opening all the time! Shopping is a favorite pastime of our Guests. You won't be at a loss for things to do! John and Gwen.

When were you on St. Thomas? Are you confusing us with another property? Many Island Visitors confuse us with the property next door. We do not normally show a room that has been cleaned and sanitized for the next Guest. As resident managers (not owners) we can tell you our Trip Advisor Reviews speak very loudly of our room comforts. All 9 of the Guest rooms have all been updated with fresh paint, new light fixtures and on-demand hot water systems over the past few years, we've even added new sofa beds to make our larger rooms accommodate even larger families! New photos are coming very soon!
