The property owner gave me a personal tour of this beautiful property once owned by Mexican General Santa Anna (Battle of The Alamo). During his exile, General Santana moved to St. Thomas while planning his return to power in Mexico. Wonderful view of the Charlotte Amalie Harbor. Every room has a different theme.

Beautiful location with views of whole bay. Our casita was amazing sound proof and bed comfortable. Having a kitchenette was perfect and we ate often by the pool area. Jeff, owner, is a great guy & immediately addressed every need.

I decided that it was not a time to pinch pennies and rented La Mansion for a week. This is a very good decision. Two bathrooms so the GF got her own dedicated bathroom. Full, well equipped kitchen. Yes, a great view of the harbor and also you can get to the north side of the island easily from here, so Megan's Beach is real close. I was going to take my niece and her family and another couple was thinking of going and taking their kids. Villa Santana is a dream-facility for that kind of thing in that there are quite a few cottages (for lack of a better word) all near each other within the gated walls PLUS a pool and bar set up. My niece had personal things come up so they couldn't go. Just the GF and I went. I still want to have the dream group-thing there. Oh, I have been going to VS, around February, for about 6 years now. Two years ago I tried an AirBnb on St Thomas,, but it just cannot compare to VS, so I am back!!

Villa Santana was a wonderful place for my husband and I to stay for a few days while in St. Thomas. Shannon and Jeff were wonderful hosts and very attentive to any questions that we had in regards to our accommodations and local restaurants. The view is exquisite and perfect for watching sunrises and sunsets as boats come in and out of the harbor. Great location with ease of access to downtown shopping and restaurants.

Villa Santana is a beautiful villa with an expansive view of the Charlotte Amalie harbor and very comfortable, historically authentic, with all conveniences of modern kitchens and baths. Air conditioning, ceiling fans and cross-ventilation make it very liveable in the tropical environment. Shannon and Jeff are welcoming, informative, and responsive which made it feel like 2 weeks at home for us but with a better view!

Isolated from the hubbub but close at hand, Villa Santana has one of the best views of the harbor in all of St. Thomas. The rooms have not only comfort but character—anti-generic. We loved our room! The grounds are also unique—located on the rare flat spot, the beautiful gates, the pool, the individual buildings the rooms occupy all make for a memorable stay. Louisa is a wonderful and attentive owner and the other vacationers we met were friendly and made us feel at home. I can't say enough about Louisa, Villa Santana and our lofty perch above the harbor of Charlotte Amalie.

We stayed 3 nights in La Casita. The spiral staircase was not a problem, air conditioning worked well and Ms Luisa was such an interesting lady! The 6 minute walk down the hill to the waterfront was just 10 minutes up hill for us (agile 70+) and the views, great pool as well away from the noises of the city, made it a perfect choice.

A 6 minute walk from town and a great Green House Restaurant. The owner Luisa is the sweetest and will take care of you during your stay. La casita is closest to the gate entrance with a loft and perfect view of the cruise ships in the port. Has a microwave and full size fridge so definitely bring back left overs and wine. After traveling, make sure to have taxis drop you back at the gate as the walk back up the hill can be tiring after a long day of tourism. Be sure to take a walk to Glady's and Pasta Go Go for breakfast. Was extremely clean, had some trouble receiving wifi but felt like home nonetheless.

I was on the island for a large workshop but the venue we were using didn't have any availability the first few days of our visit. We stayed for two nights at Villa Santana before transferring to the Marriott Frenchman's Reef - of the two hotels, Villa Santana was my favorite, hands down! From the second I called, Ms Luisa was incredibly welcoming and friendly. Luisa accepted my reservation by phone and we were all set! The Villa was originally General Santa Anna's Caribbean hideaway. The Villa sets up on the hillside overlooking Charlotte Amalie but it's just a short walk to tons of shops and dining. Bring your walking shoes - the walk down is much easier than the walk back up! (I'm 31, husband is 42 and I feel like we're in reasonably good shape but the uphill walk was definitely a challenge in the midday heat!) The property is gated and is set up with buildings around the perimeter surrounding a grassy courtyard. A gardener was on site most days working around the property. We spotted several varieties of fruit tree but unfortunately they weren't quite ready for picking during our stay. We stayed in La Casita and LOVED it! There were a few steps leading up to the front door that opens to a large living room with beautiful wood floor. The are several windows to let in the sunshine - we had the windows open most of the time we were in our room and it created an awesome cross breeze. There is one simple bathroom downstairs with a shower stall. Bring your own toiletries if you have a preference. TripAdvisor lists Villa Santana as a B&B, however, there is no breakfast. There is a well appointed kitchen that provides everything you'd need to make your own meals if you're interested - fridge, oven with stove, microwave, pots, pans, etc. The bedroom is a loft with a spiral staircase leading up to it. The room's only AC unit is located upstairs near the bed but we didn't find it very effective. The staircase could potentially be a problem for some people, but the views from the top are completely worth it! Each morning we woke up to the most incredible view overlooking the harbor below and out to the surrounding islands. Pictures don't do it justice - it's something you really must see for yourself! Something I felt was a nice touch to the room is that Ms Luisa decorated with several of her own paintings of the island. During our stay, there was only one other guest so we pretty much had the place to ourselves. There's a pool and lounge area that was nice - very relaxing. Ms Luisa lives on site and has a few dogs. We're animal people and happened to love the pups but if you're not crazy about dogs, they weren't intrusive at all. We typically only saw them in the evenings and they busy most of the time keeping the iguanas away. A few things you should know: - There is one AC unit. It was in good working order but had a hard time fighting the heat and humidity. We're from Florida and used to it, so it wasn't a huge deal, but it may be a deal breaker for others. - Loved all the windows but they aren't screened. Be wary of mosquitoes! It was fine during the day when there was a nice breeze. One night we left the windows open (we usually sleep with a fan on at home) and we woke up to a room full of pesky mosquitoes! - The taxi ride from the airport was $22 for the two of us with baggage. Overall, we felt that the Villa Santana offered a tremendous value, tons of charm, and I would definitely stay again. If you're looking to experience the culture of the island, Villa Santana makes and excellent home base.

We had a great time staying at Villa Santana last week for 6 nights. Our room was clean, quiet and very comfortable. We made use of the fridge and microwave to reheat some leftovers from dinner. The pool was great after a long day trekking around the island. It is only a 10-minute walk or 3-minute drive into town. Louisa runs a first class operation at a budget price.
