We just took a cruise and an islander recommended we visit the Beachcomber after we asked them to send us somewhere 'not touristy.' From the exterior, I have to admit, you wouldn't think this place was up and operating, but that's far from true. We...More
We visited the beach bar on Dec 4th and it was the highlight of our day. The bartender, Margaret was a joy and the view was absolutely breathtaking. It has sustained damage, but it is still up and running and it was the perfect way...More
The food & ambiance at the tiki bar outdoor restaurant on the beach is a must-do for anyone visiting St. Thomas. This was of the first hotels on St. Thomas and so they got the best location & nicest beach! Although the hotel is not...More
This hotel has had no investment for a very long time. I walked into my room which smelled of mold and is evident on the curtains. Much around the property is in disrepair. The bathroom and shower is in a very poor state.

If you're talking about Marriott's Frenchmans Reef Resort it's far to walk lol. Frenchmans Reef is on the west end down town towards Charlotte Amalie near Redhook bay. Your best choice is rent a car, or take a taxi shouldn't be more than $25 bucks to get there or less! If you were to walk it would take you close to 2.5hrs to walk there depending on how fast you walk hahaha it's close to 10miles but also take into consideration you will be hiking up and down mountains because the terrain is not like US terrain where it's flat!
Good luck :) St. Thomas is my second home I visit every year.
