I really liked this hotel. The rooms were very spacious and luxurious. The resort had multiple restaurants which were all a little above average. The price of the hotel itself was a little high, but with the hotel you get multiple pools and a private...More
Stayed in August from the 9 August to the 25 August. The staff particularly in the restaurants, housekeeping and front desk were amazing and took GREAT care of us. My room was perfect and I loved everything about my stay. It was about my 30th...More
The resort was very nice - I wouldn't recommend the condo style - the beach is less than par on this side. Lost of coral / rocks. The beach on the hotel side is beautiful but it is a HIKE. Staff is very friendly. You...More
We stayed at the Frenchman's Reef & Morning Star Marriott Beach Resort for one week before taking a cruise from San Juan, PR.
Our room was down by the beach and not in the main hotel. The hotel provides a shuttle to make this journey...More
We stayed at this resort in December 2016. We were traveling with smaller kids and needed a resort with several pools, an easy access to the beach and a beach restaurant. We were overall really happy, my kids loved it. We liked the food selection...More

I too looked at their website and all I could see was that they are closed due to Irma. I'd really like to know how the "Professor"( ferry boat driver between hotel and town) did on his live aboard in the harbor. Hope all made it through well and recovery is on the way prior to Jose.

9/7/17 St.Thomas has major damage (Check news reports for updates). Even the 1 hospital in St. Thomas was evacuated because of catastrophic damage. I would push my plans back to later in the year or sometime early next year at the earliest if you want to go to St.Thomas. Even if the hotel is able to accommodate you the island will be in a recovery status for a long time.
Consider contacting the Marriott Renaissance Carambola St.Croix property directly (ask there conditions and operating status) and visiting there instead. Check again on status once Hurricane Jose passes this weekend. Keep in mind though that Hurricane season lasts until November in the Atlantic/Caribbean.
Keep in tuned with local VI news sources online and through social media (Virgin Islands Daily News, St.Thomas Source, St. Croix Source, St.John Source, and VI Consortium.
Hope this helps!
