The most beautiful water and friendliest staff on the island. This resort is ideal for those looking for a quiet getaway for either a day trip or week long stay. They have 2 pools and are literally 20 steps to the crystal clear Caribbean Sea. The staff is always attentive and wonderful. The restaurant on-site in right on the water for the PERFECT sunsets of the West End of the island and the food is delicious. Highly recommend their Mermaid Mimosas in the morning to start your day! If you go for the day it is only $10 per person for access to their amenities and beach chairs, great deal! The servers also come on the beach so you don’t have to move for an ice cold cocktail to cool off. Rooms are all clean, updated, spacious and well appointed for your needs.

We just got back from staying at Sand Castle on the Beach in St. Croix and highly recommend it. The very personable and present owners have paid attention to details in their property. It's the small things that should make this your choice. Sunsets right from the restaurant/bar on the water each night with calmer waters at the beach to snorkel than the other sides of the islands to start off. Beach chairs and umbrellas up every morning waiting for you on the beach. No rows and rows of beach chairs between you and the ocean. They offer beach chair covers along with beach towels. Nice touch. You can walk up and down the beach and not run into another person. And the color of the water is breath taking. There is a small continental breakfast each morning for free along with a full service restaurant for lunch and dinner. Or you can walk up the beach to Frederiksted to other choices. Cleanliness is a top priority here. I saw staff cleaning pool chairs/tables. We had the king suite/studio. The room was updated with better linens and other amenities than we saw in our previous stop in St. Thomas. The overall layout and landscaping of the property makes for a great tropical atmosphere with water feature and palm trees. So if you want a quiet, adults only get away on the beach without having to think of going anywhere else, this is the spot for you!

Excellent hotel with excellent location, extremely clean & comfortable . Upon arrival I was warmly welcomed by the owners Chris and Ted who made this trip and stay enjoyable, interesting, comfortable and really special with their advices & tips about the area, and help throughout my stay. During time of Covid I was hesitant how I would feel, but I can assure you they were very serious about disinfecting everywhere, and made sure guests wear masks at public areas, yet made it with a friendly smile. I definetely recommend this hotel to everybody! It's a true sample of excellent hospitality. I travel the world, but places such as Sand Castle on the Beach makes you want to return as it feels like it’s your home away from home. Thank you again T&C and staff for a perfect vacation. My wife and I have been coming to St Croix for over 20 years. We have been to Frederiksted each time to eat and enjoy the view. This year we stayed at the Sand Castle on the Beach. First area that impressed us was the people. This includes the office and grounds staff, cleaning staff, restaurant and owners. Room cleanliness every day was outstanding. Young black women on front desk very helpful and friendly. Tyronne is an interesting person to talk too and does an outstanding job of setting up the beach with chairs and umbrella's plus keeps the pool area looking sharp. Chris did a great job of always making us welcome and asking a number of times how we liked it here and what they could do different. The water and beach are a top attraction also. Sunsets are perfect. Restaurant and bar right on location. Excellent food. Many touches that are offered here including beach chair covers and towels, breakfst and coffee in the morning, water toys including snorkel gear and kayaas. Our daughter spent a few days with us and really enjoyed it. We have already booked for next year. We also like that this area is getting some new restaurants and you are right there when a ship comes in. Always an interesting day. Sometimes people do not think about this part of St Croix Island, however Sand Castle is a gem that we are glad we stayed at. Thank you Chris & Ted and would you please thank all of your staff from us.

I cannot say enough good things about this little piece of paradise. My daughter and I spent 7 days at this lovely little resort. The beach is just steps away, fresh towels were provided daily as well as someone available to put the umbrella up and bring a table to put between the lounge chairs. They even had pool noodles for guests to use. Everything was sparkling clean and well maintained, the owners and staff were remarkably warm and welcoming and we both felt instantly at home here. They made us feel like we've been friends for years. There wasn't a day when someone didn't ask if we are doing ok, do we need anything, etc. Our room was perfect, updated, very cute, loved having the kitchen as well. I suggest making a grocery run your first day there and pick up some ice for the freezer as well. Housekeeping staff was friendly and on top of it, we'd head off to lunch or the beach and come back to a tidy, clean room. We ate at the Beachside cafe at the property several times while we were there, if there was anything that could be improved, I'd say I was expecting to see a bigger selection of fresh fish on the menu, but no big deal, really. I was just craving lobster :-) I am already planning a return trip this spring, hoping to make it a little longer this time because 7 days went by in a flash. I'm going to book the beachfront room this time because of the amazing location.

My wife and I stayed at Sandcastle on the beach at the end of April 2022. It was a much-needed vacation after being homebound through the pandemic. Everyone was very welcoming, friendly and helpful. Having a restaurant and beachside bar onsite was a definite plus.
I understand that Chris and Ted are recent new owners of the resort and judging from past photos, they have done major improvements in the last couple of years. They both are wonderful hosts and can be seen working alongside the staff and greeting guests every day. It makes sense why people rave about them in reviews.
We stayed in one of the beachfront patio rooms. It’s next on the remodeling list so will be even better after this summer. There were a couple of times the room needed attention (light bulb replaced, housekeeping, etc.), all were taken care of within a few hours.
This is a nice hotel if you want to get away and relax. For us, we found Frederiksted limited on restaurants and shops, so we made several trips into Christensted, which was 30-ish minutes trip. I highly recommend renting a car on the island due to the distance between activities like boat charters, upscale dining options, shopping, etc. Renting a Jeep is even better. The roads are terrible.
The beach at the Sandcastle was okay, but the water was rough the week we stayed and there was sand erosion that caused exposed rocks. also, the beach is not the white sand like other Caribbean islands. (Buck island is close, but still a light tan in color) It could stand to be raked each day to clean up the tree and palm debris, but this is not a deal breaker by any means. We went to the beach vs the pool daily. I found a lot of sea glass and a few pieces of Chaney during our visit. A cruise ship came in during the week which livened up Fredericksted.
Overall, I would recommend this hotel because of the location and owner hospitality. If you are searching for a hotel on St. Croix for a friends get together, wedding or other group, this is a great hotel for that.
My suggestions for improvements would be: 1. Add hooks in the bathroom to hang towels, swimsuits, etc. (None in our room) 2. Add a small bench in the shower or add a ledge for people who shave and who are older who may need to sit. 3. Add a long sleeve (UV Protection) shirt to the merch rack. 4. Add reef safe sunscreen for sale. (This may have been an item you could buy and I didn’t see it)

We only stayed one night with a last minute reservation because some plans had changed, but I will stay again. The owners, Ted and Chris, are excellent hosts. The room was a little small, but all we needed for one night. When we stay again, but we'll get a room with the kitchen - which are being updated at the moment. This resort also has one of the only few fancier restaurants we could find on the island. We found eating out in St Croix to be mostly bar food. The hotel's restaurant was more our speed, decent food moderately priced. Breakfast was grab and go - not sure if this is usual or because of covid protocols. There are 3 buildings on site. Each area has its own pool, so no oversharing the pool with an entire hotel. Parking was right outside our room (street parking, but basically a dead end street).

I had a wonderful stay. The staff at Sand Castle on the Beach is beyond friendly and helpful. The room I had was well stocked and comfortable (kitchen supplies, working ac and fans, outdoor seating area, great pillows, and so on). The beach area is extremely clean and they do a great job of making sure everyone has what they need (chairs, towels, drinks, food, and float noodles).

My wife and I had a wonderful time staying at Sand Castle on the Beach. The owners, Chris and Ted, went out of their way to check in with us multiple times to make sure we were happy and to see if they could do anything to enhance our stay? You just don't see that kind of hospitality anymore and we appreciated it. The Garden view room was very comfortable with a kitchen/living area with a couch and TV (never turned it on). The room was very clean and comfortable. The front patio was perfect for drying our dive gear every day. We had no worries about our safety or the security of our belongings at all on this trip. They keep an eye on the goings-on and they have security at night. The restaurant was very busy and making early reservations is almost a necessity. We did eat in the bar area most nights that we didn't venture out. Be prepared for some amazing mixed drinks and one of my top 3 Pina Coladas of all time made with dark rum. The views are beyond description and we have dozens of sunset photo's/videos. We met some wonderful guests and truly had a great trip. We never heard one neg. comment about Sand Castle. Thank you, Chris and Ted, for going above and beyond to help us out. I do suggest renting a car at the airport, the taxi services are not reliable. Chris can help you pick out a dive facility too. If you are a diver, make diving the pier multiple times a priority, it is spectacular and beat all of our deepwater boat dives.

Did the day pass for the first time and man did we have fun. They have really upped their game there. The lunch was excellent, the atmosphere was nice and quiet. I forgot how nice the beach was. The only complaint I have is every time I try to book a statycation they are full! Bad for me good for them. It's good to see all of our local hotels full though. See ya next weekend for the day pass. One other thing I need to mention there was constant cleaning by the staff. The attendant Tawnya was constantly wiping down and sanitizing every time I looked up from my book. She never stopped.

Hello, The ground floor units have beautiful sea views. We stayed on the second floor and still had a sea view but a little obscured by palm trees. We saw beautiful sunrises just the same.
