My family and I visited Villa Margarita this winter, and we can't say enough good things about the property or the on site managers, Kristie and Chris. We rented the 2 bedroom unit, which is clean, well appointed and spacious. The villa has a lovely small pool, and the rooms have breathtaking views of the sea from the double balconies. If you want to swim in the sea, a five minute walk brings you to a beach which is the only spot where Christopher Columbus actually landed in the United States. It's not the biggest beach, but the water is calm, there is a sandy bottom, and there are amazing shells that get washed up in the inlet. The cool thing about St. Croix is that there are so many beaches, and Kristie happily told us the pros and cons of each. On Kristie's suggestion, we explored a few, and were never steered wrong. The villa's location is a good mix of being totally secluded, but also close enough to everything. There are a string of bars and restaurants a short drive up the beach on Cane Bay, and the bar and restaurant down the hill at the mouth of Salt River Bay. It's also close enough to the boardwalk in Christiansted, or the main business district. On site, there is a fantastic tiki bar near the pool and nice new gas grill, where we brought food from the local supermarket. Most importantly, Kristie and Chris are amazing hosts. She makes a mean Pina Colada and even set up a happy hour for the guests (we were so incredibly sorry to have missed because our family had a health care emergency). Overall they couldn't have been kinder, more helpful or more understanding. Their hospitality was thorough, thoughtful, and incredibly appreciated. When I read the reviews to this property, I wondered if it was too good to be true. Make no mistake, it is that good. Book it if it's available!…
If you are looking for a private and intimate spot this is a perfect destination! Ocean views and a quick walk to a beautiful beach! However, renting a car is must! Could not recommend this destination more and will definitely be back!
Our (extended) family had a fabulous 3-week stay at glorious Villa Margarita! The views from all rooms were our favorite view on St Croix: pool, palm trees swaying in the constant breeze, and the turquoise hues of the reef-filled ocean. It was exactly the natural getaway we needed after Covid lockdowns. The villa’s location is perfect: feels secluded but a short drive to the island’s towns and beaches and sights. We fell in love with St Croix and hope to return soon!
Just a wonderful experience to spend 9 days in paradise overlooking the Caribbean Sea. Collin was wonderful and attentive to our needs. He even bought us a new Coffee maker when ours didn't work. Extremely close to Salt River Marina if you like SCUBA diving. We would go back in a heartbeat. My only critique was I wish they took Credit Cards as payment.
What can I say that hasn’t already been said? This was our first time to St Croix and the location was perfect. Besides being on the ocean, it was quick access to either town since you are smack dab in the middle of the N shore when staying at Villa Margarita. You will have everything you need, felt like home but with a wonderful ocean front view. We were able to cook many meals in the studio, ample space for a couple. Patrick & Siria, the hosts, are true assets, always around if you needed anything, yet you feel like you still had your privacy. We were the only guests for most of the week, we felt very lucky.
March 12-19, 2020. Return visit to my favorite Caribbean Island. Our stay at Villa Margarita was the high point of our week; we really wanted to stay. The hosts, Siria and Patrick, were most accommodating and we feel like they are new friends. The property is lovely, well maintained with an outstanding view of the Salt River inlet on St. Croix. We look forward to staying there again. Conveniently situated yet quiet enough to fantasize that it is your own Caribbean retreat.
Sometimes I hesitate to write a review because I don't want others to know of a gem -- keep it to myself. Villa Margarita was perfect for us: on the water, facing breezes, well-maintained, clean and affordable. It is a small slice of paradise. We rented the two-bedroom unit with two couples. There is one bath; one room has a king bed, the other a queen. The kitchen has a refrigerator, hot plate, toaster oven, and microwave, but no stove. There is a shared gas grille by the pool, a hot tub (we didn't use), and a Tiki bar with a full range of local rum -- free for use by guests. The place looked exactly like the pictures: nice but not opulent (no marble countertops). The bathroom is split in two with a separate room for toilet and shower/bath with sink and a front room with just a sink, so it worked well for two couples. There is a caretaker in residence -- actually in transition with a five-year caretaker leaving; the new one is nice and concientious so the quality others have mentioned should continue. The villa is by itself at the end of a dirt road so you need a car. You cannot swim immediately in front of the villa, but there is a short walk left or right to nice beaches. We found ourselves spending lots of time on the balcony, shaded from the sun and facing the breezes -- a perfect place for a liesurly breakfast or late afternoon drink. Since there are only three units it seemed like we had the place to ourselves most of the time. There is a nice restaurant, Flyers, in the nearby marina -- you could walk, but we drove. A short drive to the West is Cane Bay Beach and the newly named (March 2020) Leatherback Restaurant (formerly Cane Bay). We had fresh fish there that was the best fish meal we have ever had, and the view is across the beach to the sea -- perfect.…
We stayed in the 2 bedroom unit for 10 days in February. TJ and Denise did a wonderful job restoring the Villa after the hurricane. It's such a beautiful spot and very conveniently located on the Island. The Tiki bar is a great place to sit and relax, especially if the wind is blowing. Beautiful views and the breezes made sleeping easy. Denise and TJ had happy hour while we were there and it was delicious and such fun visiting with them and the other guests. Would definitely recommend it and plan to go back.
Wow! ...just Wow! This place definitely surpassed my expectations on all levels. The accommodations were very nice w/ everything we could have wanted. The pool, waterfront & location are top notch. The caretakers were super friendly & clued is in on all the best beaches & hidden gems that St. Croix has to offer. We won’t soon forget our visit to Villa Margarita and hope to return in the future!
We stayed at the Villa Margarita for the last 10 days and had a great experience. The villas have great views of the ocean and is relaxing to sleep with the doors open and listen to the waves crash onto the shore. The Caretakers: Denise and TJ have lived on the island for over 10 years and they enthusiastically share their knowledge of the area with guests, which enabled-us to take advantage of the specials typically only known by “the Locals”, (aka Fun Day Sunday at Hotel on the Cay & 1/2 priced burgers on Monday at Cane Bay). The room is nicely appointed and it overlooks the pool, hot tub and of course the ocean. We definitely plan to stay there again!
