St. Croix where the weather stays in the 80’s year round. The gem-clear turquoise waters of the Caribbean Sea are excellent for swimming and snorkeling directly from the beach. The Hornblower Vacation Rental Condominium on the Beach is located at the Sugar Beach condo resort complex, United States Virgin Islands - rated Number One Vacation Rental Condominium resort in the USVI and BVI. Our Condominium name is derived from Conch Shell Hornblowing, a familiar melody on the island; and the owner who is a lifelong saxophone player and has always been drawn to the seas, Hornblower is ON-THE-BEACH! Yes the BEACH is YOUR VACATION BACKYARD on the Caribbean Sea! Our vacation rental condominium is on the GROUND FLOOR; walk down 3 steps on the beach, enjoy shell collecting, snorkeling, swimming, or JUST RELAX! Sugar Beach is only minutes from duty-free shopping in Christiansted. The newly built Divi Casino, International restaurants and nightclubs, renowned diving and snorkeling excursions.
This condo, on every level, was absolutely LOVELY. The owner is extremely attentive to detail, the condo is nicely decorated, well equipped and has the perfect location. Beautiful ocean breezes, kite surfers to entertain you while you relax on the beach, warm water, and close...More
We stayed at Sugar Beach Condo Resort (Unit 115). The owner is fabulous, easy to contact, and responsive. Our unit was well equipped and homey. Literally 4 steps to the sand a hammock on the beach and great swimming in front. We had a small...More
I've been here twice now so I've gotten a good feel. At the moment it is a challenge to book hotels on St Croix, especially last minute.
The pluses are that it is in a decent location, close to Christianstead, it has good free WIFI...More
Unfortunately, due to the hurricane in October we could not travel to this resort. A trip which was planned 15 months in advance. With that being said,I have been trying since November to get my $700 deposit back to no avail. I understand due to...More
Just spent a week here with my swim team was very pleased. I stayed in a third floor condo which happened to have a loft which I could see the beach from and hear the ocean at night while sleeping. The condo was well stocked,...More

Sadly, I have to agree with Bsimpon8. If I had the option to do it again knowing what I do now I would not stay there again. I saw a roach also which at first I did not realize it but the more I see comments on here it must have been. I don't have them at home so I certainly don't want to have them when I'm spending a lot of money to stay somewhere on vacation! I also see the comments about bedbugs. I'm now wondering if that is why I was so itchy when I was there & it would always start up when I went to bed. Gross! We rented our unit through Home Away so it was not directly through Sugar Beach. The unit itself was just "ok". I wish I could give you a recommendation of another resort or somewhere else to stay, but quite honestly nothing there looked fantastic. St. Croix is not one of our favorite places we have been. We go to a different Caribbean island every year & would not go back here. Turks & Caico's and Grand Cayman are very nice. Good luck with wherever you go & enjoy your trip. Hope this helped.

After all of our concerns including live and dead cockroaches, blood and soil stained sheets, no snorkel gear, no supplies and an overall filthy condo, the new management, Ben and the owner told us there was nothing they could do. I have been in vacation rental properties my whole life and I can say with certainty that myself and my family have never experienced anything like that. And it was most definitely unit 103. All I know is that the owner could have done almost anything to make us happy, we didn't even request anything...we just wanted to receive some sort of restitution, in some form, even a damn apology would have went a long way, but she did absolutely nothing!
