Long story short, our flight out of St Croix to Orlando was cancelled, American Airlines hooked us up here for the night, it was the most luxurious hotel I've ever slept in. Wow. Absolutely Gorgeous. The photos I took do no justice. It sucked missing a day of Disney World which we will have to take up with American, but as far as a hotel room is concerned, this was a good save.
I brought my grandchildren to St Croix. My husband and I owned a home on St Croix for over 30 years. We frequented the Buccaneer for golf, meals, and swimming. We sold our home 3 years ago. The Buccaneer was the only place I considered staying. It was a perfect trip and the grandkids can't wait to return to the Buccaneer!
I absolutely loved this resort. It has everything I would want for vacation activities, tranquility, excellent service, great food, breathtaking views, clean rooms, excellent housekeeping, proximity to shopping, and great staff. I am definitely coming back.
From the moment we arrived until we left EVEREYONE was so kind, Pleasant, and Helpful. The atmosphere, climate and nice breeze every day was so nice. It was cooler in St Croix then in our home state of Maryland.
Some of the staff provided less than satisfactory service. Some actually behaved as though they were bothered with having to provide the basic services one would expect to receive at any hotel-let alone while vacationing at a pricey resort. With a few exceptions, such as the dinning staff, service with a smile and pleasant attitude was sorely lacking.
This resort had nice rooms, clean and well maintained, great views, and wonderful amenities. The beaches were nice, the pool was beautiful. They had games to play and lots of activities on property. The rooms had great AC. Some of the rooms had older furniture, but everything was clean. The people were very friendly and helpful. My only complaint is that the free buffer breakfast was cold and unappealing if you arrived after 7 am when they first put out the food. Even then the quality of the food was no anywhere close to the level of the other food they produced which was wonderful. Room service was wonderful after a day out on the ocean. Housekeeping did a great job at keeping the room clean and well stocked. Amy from the Spa was super nice and friendly. A great place to stay for old world elegance.…
This was probably one of the best vacations I’ve ever had. We had 5 adults and 4 teens at the Buccaneer Beach House and the house, the hotel and the service were absolutely incredible. Top notch. And all with a smile. Probably the friendliest staff I have ever encountered on any vacation, and we travel a lot! Fitz took care of us daily at The Beach House, making sure we had everything we needed. Every morning at breakfast we were treated with a smile by all the staff as we enjoyed our complimentary buffet breakfast with daily specials. We even got the teenagers out of bed! The concierge recommended great activities for all, the shuttle staff made sure we always had a ride if needed. The staff at the beach always had a smile and made sure we kept “hydrated” and fed. There was so much for the kids to do, tennis, basketball, snorkeling, paddle boarding, chess, endless fun. Book it now. Trust me.…
My wife and I just returned from a fabulous vacation to St. Croix. We stayed in the Deluxe Ocean View Room at The Buccaneer. The rooms and staff were great. Lia was a server for many of our evening dinners and she is FANTASTIC! The best server at The Buccaneer. We had a spectacular view of Mermaid Beach from our room. The resort is a bit large with steep hills to get to restaurants. We used our rental car but we were told that you can call for transportation help to get around the resort. The one thing I would like to see is an all-inclusive option. It was a pain to constantly have to charge all our drinks and meals to our room, or pay cash/card. We usually stay at Sandals properties at the other Caribbean Islands and the all-inclusive nature is preferred.
My wife and I were at the Buccaneer in 1972 on our honeymoon, 50 years later in July of 2022 we returned to find the resort looking better than ever. Excellent accommodations, service, and food. The best in St. Croix.
Room was okay, the included breakfast was boring after 2 days having very little change and without a car getting around the resort was inconvenient and difficult due to its size. Breakfast waitresses were indifferent once they supplied a glass of water and the carafe of coffee yet expected a big tip. The Bucaneer Resort is over priced and a poor value for what was received as activities were extra. Workers seemed to spend more their time riding in golf carts rather than doing something out of them. The Bucaneer Resort was not what we expected when we booked. We've stayed in more than a few deluxe resorts around the world, this was not one of them! Tip: A must do if you have transportation. Visit Ziggy's Island Market (yup, a gas station) for a friendly drink and an excellent dinner. Get there early (5:00 PM) because when the dinner items are gone, they're gone.…
