My wife and I recently returned from Amanyara Resort. We wanted a peaceful retreat, to a lovely spot on an island that is essentially untouched by the pandemic. Turks and Caicos is a healthy and safe nation easy to access from many major cities. We were delighted to find that there is a national nature preserve - and that Amanyara is situated on an exclusive tip. Amanyara is renowned, praised in luxury travel publications. Our expectations were very high. It is very difficult to far exceed such high expectations, but Amanyara soared above them. Every aspect of our stay was exceptional. We still smile each time we think of our visit, and we decided that returning would be a ritual. I have stayed at many superior resorts; I travel as a keynote speaker for conferences for top executives. None of them have the natural beauty of Amanyara. Nor do they have the relaxing and gracious vibe that enhances every hour at Amanyara. You can choose a private villa on a lagoon or one on the Caribbean beach. There is a huge infinity pool overlooking brilliant sunsets. Each meal is like visiting a Michelin restaurant, but with an informal ambiance. Ultimately, a resort can only excel if its staff is authentic and takes pride in their work. General Manager Ian White has built and leads a team that is at once caring and efficient. In sum, we look forward to return to Amanyara soon - and many times. Jeff R New York…
We stayed at this resort a few years ago and it was heaven on earth but I’m afraid this last stay was the opposite, I truly can’t believe how a hotel could go from excellent to poor. When you pay the cost of this hotel per night you expect and receive the best We got the opposite. Staff were very poorly trained, the food choices and quality were less than adequate and the total disrespect for the guests I’m afraid were not good. I would not return to this resort again or recommend it and please do not respond to my review with the same tired script of how we are sorry for you bad experience and can we contact you to make it ok, you had five days to do this and you failed miserably, One more point I would like to make, when we were at the beach I noticed your staff turning people away from the beach even though they were literally walking in the water well away from the resort settings, may I remind you and you can remind your over zealous staff that all the beaches up to the high watermark in TURKS AND CAICOS are public and have been long before your resort was put there.…
Love this place of Zen and relaxation! Just finished our 3rd trip here having been here last June during Covid and in 2019 just before Covid. We absolutely love this resort as the buildings, scenery, location are so beautiful and peaceful. And the staff is just the best from the managers to all levels, so genuinely friendly, accommodating and happy. We have stayed at many Aman resorts and other top hotels and resorts around the world and this is one of our favorites. There is much to do here or do nothing but recharge your system. We had 2 excellent mediation sessions with Toby, who is relatively new to the resort but very experienced, and this was a new bonus. There was also a delicious Arabian meal night that should not be missed. The staff here go to extraordinary lengths to provide a great and relaxing experience. This year we used the expedited airport service and were so glad for it. We left on a Monday and the airport was mobbed with long immigration lines that, using this service, allowed us to go the front. Also, the quiet air-conditioned separate area was a respite from the packed lounge area, making this expense well worth the cost.…
The resort advertises their restaurant is open to the public for dining so we made the trek down to experience their food. Getting close to the property security stopped and told us we were not welcome on the property. We continued down the beach only to have another staffer tell us the same and shoo us away. If you want to advertise that the restaurant allows people other than resort guests you must let them in the restaurant. Very disappointed
We stayed here for five nights. Two beach villas. Right from the start the Aman hospitality was missing. The staff are unfriendly and almost go out of their way to not help. Rooms are not cleaned till after 12pm. No one wishes you. Waste of money. You are billed for every little thing. We had to stay on top of all activities booked, no one tried to find us or help. We were sent on a horse riding trip with no towels or water, in a car with bald tires. The horses went in the water and we were soaked. We should have been informed about what to wear etc. nothing. The gym was dirty and sweat all over the floor, gym bathroom smelt and dirty. Food trays were not cleaned for 15 hours. The pillows around the pool were stained. Food was great but the menu is small. Over all the hotel is beautiful but the staff make you feel unwelcome. Will never go there again or recommend it. We have been to over 15 different Amans, never had this happen before.…
This is my favorite hotel in the world. The property is close to the airport, but feels secluded. It is located by a national park . The rooms are beautiful and perched on rock formations over the beach. The customer service here is unparalleled.
For the price point we were disappointed in the lack of service and attention to guests. It took several calls to get housekeeping done on certain days. The only good feature was the location of the resort otherwise attention to cleanliness was also lacking. From a noise perspective this is a very quiet resort. The staff at the beach, pool or bar do not check on you either to provide any service. The food choices are very limited with in room dining, beach club and the restaurant. The hotel was having specialty dinner cuisines over the Presidents’ Day weekend. The hotel is about 30 minutes from town so hard to get out for food.
Amanyara was the encore of a two week birthday celebration. From the people to the locale, to the service and food, Amanyara is 5 star excellence. Definitely do the spa, and the private cove dinner. Our suite was a glass walled escape, with a path leading to tidal pools and the sea. The most amazing sunrises and sunsets, you really feel like you’re alone on earth.
My husband and I chose Amanyara for our recent honeymoon. We had read numerous times that it is one of the world’s premiere luxury resorts. That Amanyara is truly special was confirmed by some friends who have stayed in great resorts globally. We wanted a resort that allowed a peaceful respite in nature. Amanyara is nestled at the tip of a national nature preserve in Turks and Caicos – you can’t beat that. The service was perfect: always helpful, always going the extra mile, but with an authenticity rather than the “over-the-top” showiness at too many luxury properties. The whole vibe of Amanyara leaves you in a peaceful, positive mood. General Manager Ian White certainly has created a “culture” that works, whether for celebrities looking for some privacy or for anyone looking for understated luxury. Oh, did I mention the truly private villas – ours was on a gorgeous lagoon. I can’t see how any resort could top Amanyara for a romantic honeymoon or getaway.…
We went for the holistic retreat and we’re indulged by massages, yoga and Pilates…and relaxed dining by the sound of the ocean. The Villa had its own lap pool for an early morning dip, with Ria K organizing everything. A life changing experience, I’m doing yoga and eating Goji Berries daily!!
