Amazing food, service, staff. Woodens was amazing. Great entertainment during dinner. Highly recommend. It was our favorite restaurant on the island and we came twice. Best last dinner to have at our resort. Would come back. We had surf and turf, veggie risotto, grouper, snapper, shared desserts, buratta, and coconut shrimp.

Simply beautiful beyond words! We stayed 5 days/4 nights and enjoyed every minute. The hotel itself is stunning and the beach is incredible. Our room, in building 5 was right next to the pool which worked perfect for us with our 2 year old. It was a mix of couples and families with young children. Definitely a great place to bring toddlers! Every small detail did not go unnoticed from welcome drinks to nightly turndown service we had a wonderful experience. Would highly recommend and will definitely be returning!

The Palms has great rooms, perfect location, and a good size (not too big). Service lacked immensely. One day we ordered lunch 3x before we finally got our order (which was a two hour ordeal). They would let me husband start a tab - but for whatever reason never let myself of my friend (who is also a woman) charge… very odd. I get island time - but no one ever knew what was going on. They were also out of a lot of things that seemed odd (e.g. tortilla chips). Breakfast that was included was OK. Service at the evening bar was good. Grounds were well kept. Nice spa. Location is great…

The resort and grounds are beautiful. However, if you are thinking about spending the extra money for an oceanfront room try not to stay in building 5. Right next door at the Alexandra resort there is a nightclub that plays music from 8 to 10:30 pm every night. Admittedly karaoke night was hilarious to listen to, but the music was so loud we couldn’t really even utilize the balcony during those hours unless we liked what was being played. Additionally, the bass is still pretty considerable even with the balcony doors shut (the way our room was set up the bedroom was on the opposite side of the suite from the ocean so we could not hear it the music in there). It might even have been OK if that was all that there was too it but on that side of the resort also resides the booth for Caicos dream tours. Though I do highly recommend their 4 hour snorkeling tour (the rum punch is a flowing), the first one leaves for the day at 9 am and they start playing music from that booth by 8:30am at the latest which, while not nearly as loud as the music at nightclub, still left us feeling frustrated that we couldn’t really enjoy the ocean on our oceanfront balcony without staying up super late or getting up super early (no one expects the beach to be quiet during the day). When the 9 am tour left sometimes the music would stop and sometimes it would just stay on all day. We got used to it as much as we could but as we spent the majority of our budget on the room and not excursions we couldn’t help but feel disappointed. Not sure I would stay here again unless I could make sure I wasn’t booked in that building. Otherwise no other big complaints. A couple other observations to take into account. The resort is about a 50/50 mix of couples and families with small children so if you are looking for a super quiet couples retreat you might not find it here (unless you spend all your time at the spa which is awesome). Also the website and check in package don’t do the best job of letting you know what is going on around the resort. Check with the concierge to see if you need reservations for things and when the restaurants turn into themed (seafood and bbq) buffet nights. The resort is also kind of isolated and isn’t super walkable to other attractions. A mile down the beach in one direction (just past the Beaches resort) is the Bight reef which you can snorkel around and see another variety of wildlife and a mile in the other direction takes to up to the new Ritz Carlton resort (including a small casino) which seems to have a shopping plaza right behind it that might be worth getting a cab ride up to if you want more varied shopping. I would also highly recommend dinner at the Bay Bistro right next door to the resort. For an extra $50 (which is MUCH cheaper than any of the other resort restaurants) you can get a table on the beach and have an excellent dinner. Another random tip regarding rooms, if you are in a junior suite or a one bedroom suite there is going to be a locked door (past the bathroom in the tiled hall in the junior suite and by the bedroom in the tiled foyer of the one bedroom suite) that connects your two rooms without any other kind of insulation. If both rooms are occupied you can hear EVERYTHING that the other rooms occupants are saying if you are by this door.

We love staying at the Palms when we visit Turks and Caicos. One of the highlights of our recent trip was the staff, particularly Fitzroy Thompson, who we would see at breakfast each morning. He was very friendly, great at his job, and helpful.
