This place is a bit rustic, so if you don't like rustic...you might not like it. It is simple and basic & that is what makes it great. It was quite and I slept very well. The abundant birds will wake you up early, so no alarm clock needed. Great base to see Tobago from: Hiking, Diving, Snorkeling, Turtle Watching............ More

The cottages are very spacious and well equipped. From the roofed veranda one has a spectacular view onto the fauna and flora of the landside and airspace of the bay, with snorkling equipment onto the unbelievable underwater world - nature lover's dream! Another dream is the fresh fish from the fishery, that can be cooked in the fully furbished kitchens... More

These cottages are located directly on the beach, which is beautiful. They are also just a short walk to town and the locals are very kind nice people. Unfortunately the cottages are very old and dirty. If you stay here be prepared to basically be roughing it. The bathroom was a complete nightmare with mold in the sink. The dishes... More

This place was perfect for us! We wanted a simple place on the beach far from the tourist crowds, and this really fit the bill. If you want to stay in a typical hotel room in a posh resort, this probably isn't your scene. We loved it-- a kitchen where we could make meals if needed, a fridge to keep... More

Reading some of the other reviews, the other reviewers pretty much said what I have to say! These cottages are some 30 - 40 - or older years in vintage. They haven't been upgraded, perhaps ever, or so it seems. The kitchen was functional, but a little lacking (ah, those less than sharp knives...) the bathroom - again functional. Water... More

Remembering Charlotteville from some years ago we were certain that it was what we wanted. We wanted a villa/cottage on a real beach away from the generally touristy areas where we could walk into the sea and sup rum punches as the sun went down (and up, come to think of it!). We were concerned that our 4 kids 19... More

Let's face it: All tripadvisor reviews are guided by expectations. The folks who like a plush America-in-the-wilderness resort aren't looking for the cultural experience of a hut in the jungle. Well, read the reviews for Man-O-War Bay Cottages accordingly. These cottages are located in a small fishing village at the far end of the less developed island in the nation... More

We first came here in the 1970's with our young family and had several great holidays here. Remembering this, my youngest son brought me and two of his children for a few days so that we could enjoy a place of which he has fond memories. These are eco-friendly cottages and initially came as a shock to the children who... More

Cottages have everything you need, lived there for 11 weeks with a group students and loved it. The cottages have a safe on sight for any valuables you may be concerned about, but generally speaking, Charlotteville is one of the safest places in Tobago for the sensible traveller. There's also a security guard in the grounds. Location is within walking... More

First up, a confession. I've visited and stayed sporadically over the last thirty plus years. For those who know the island of Tobago, you'll appreciate the Cottages' fortune has tracked the fortune of the Estate (downward). The principal attraction is the secluded location -on the beach- at Man-o-War Bay between the villages of Charlotteville and Campbellton. A secondary attraction is... More
