Young island looks idillic and perfect, but there is a massive downside which you find out in the evening and this is why my review is so low. We stayed on a Saturday and as soon as the sun set the music across the water began and it carried on through the night until 6am, getting louder and louder! Appreciate it was a Saturday night, but we felt like the music was playing inside our room, it was that loud! There was no way to get a good night sleep and this is what massively lets the place down. We had a long flight the next day and needed a good sleep. So disappointed as it looked so lovely when we arrived and we were looking forward to a nice quiet break and it didn’t happen. Unfortunately I think if something isn’t done about this I feel like Young Island will lose customers! The upside was the food and drinks were delicious and the staff were friendly! But unfortunately due to their neighbours it tainted the whole experience!

Amazing! We got to the island at 2:40pm even tho we made a reservation for 1pm. We had no idea that the buffet ends at 2:30pm however they were so kind and accommodating. We had one of the best meals ever! The top fav was the peanut bar, one of the many desserts! Big up the chef(s)!!! Oh and the Tamarind frizz? Refreshing!

We were black Caribbean guests. We were taken as locals and were treated as such. The service was just mediocre. I was celebrating my birthday. We envisioned a nice private dinner, however, when we went to dinner, the white couple was under a gazebo by themselves and the black people where stacked under one. Meanwhile, there were other empty tables nearby, some already set. My boyfriend asked one of the severs if we could sit at another table. She responded "no, you cannot sit there." We were dumbfounded. We are both well travelled people and have never experienced that level of poor customer service anywhere else. Excellence service should not depend on the colour of your skin. We were charged the same rate and paid in full for the same service.

My husband and I visited SVG in May. We had originally booked to stay at Beachcombers Hotel for the duration but decided 3 days in that we did not want to stay there a moment longer than we had to...very unpleasant. We would not allow Beachcombers to taint our view of this beautiful island so booked an overnight stay to cheer ourselves up. Did Young Island do that ? Oh yes it most certainly did! From the moment we called to make the booking it was seamless. Front Desk were amazing, the customer service was sublime from checking in to checking out. The water taxi gentleman is a credit to Young Island. Actually all the staff we spoke to made us feel welcome and very special...thank you all. The room right on the beach was fabulous ...just perfect and private, the outside shower was divine....my first time ..loved it! The food took it to another level. Fine dining and professional silver service. My husband and I's stand out moment was having the coconut and sunset rum "French Toast for breakfast ! Wow wow wow...delicious. After breakfast we had a swim in the pool and then walked around the island. Staying on Young Island was a special, romantic unique experience that will stay with my husband and myself forever. Thank you again Young Island.

When my daughter decided to get married on the Grenadine Island of Bequia, quarantine restrictions of 48 hours were in place. Young Island was designated a "Quarantine Hotel", so we decided to spend 2 nights there, taking the largest room with a pool in which to quarantine. We had read the food was delicious there so made sure we had all our meals included. The quarantine was lifted a few months after we booked; however, after much previous research, we couldn't imagine not staying there. And, the decision was the right one. Corresponding with Bianca was easy and prompt. We were picked up quickly at the dock by one of their boats and taken over on a very short boat ride to Young Island. Rum punch on arrival ;) And wow, it was a strong one. James, the bar tender makes some crazy, different, fresh drinks and we spent a fair amount of time with him in the open air bar. Our room was a fair hike pretty much straight up to the Duvernette Suite. We are regular hikers, so the steep climb did not bother us much. However, if this is an issue for some, there is a shuttle that can take you up and down. There is a small kitchen, a secure open air shower, a lovely small pool with incredible views and 2 bedrooms in this suite. We loved the setting for the meals. Each group has their own, open air cabana with attentive, amazing staff. The breads are offered at most meals - the banana, coconut and cinnamon are ones not to pass up. Some meals were buffet while others were sit down. Kayaks were available to use and it was fun to putter around in those. Or lounging by the pool or on the beach was relaxing as well. Overall service was efficient but not overbearing. The entire staff was always willing to help anyone on all levels. Looking forward to visiting this hidden gem again.

Young Island Resort provided the wedding of our dreams, with special thanks to the talent, patience and skill of General Manager Bianca Porter. All of the food is excellent, especially their signature breads, the best meals we had in our 3 weeks in the Grenadines area. Young Island is exotic and elegant, without loosing it's quaint charm. The grounds are beautifully landscaped, and the cottages are pretty and spacious, including outdoor showers, hammocks, even private swimming pools! The staff is friendly and professional. We've been all over the world, and this was our second visit to Young Island, we can't wait to go back.

We and 4 friends had booked a two night stay here prior to our bareboat charter. It was the perfect place to unwind and relax after a stressful travel day. One couple didn’t make it on time, and they were very accommodating about refunding the night. Food was great, rooms were upgraded with small pools. Just lovely. We took the kayaks across and around. Our second time. We will be back! was our secon

I really like this place despite the fact the rooms are a bit tired and need a make over! The highlight is the restaurant...no buffet 🙈 and everything cooked to order from a menu...and good! The ladies there are very stylish..and very friendly! Also it isn't a single restaurant but a series of small covered outdoor areas...very different! There is a small beach which is kept pretty spotless by the gardens team! And a pretty good pool! The rooms are all single buildings I think and the few high ones need some climbing but are really breezy! Great for sleeping...some have there own small pools Young Island is a chilled 2/3 day entry and exit stop between the airport and wherever your ferry is taking you...definately go!

We knew little about Young Island only what we read on Tripadvisor We decided to stay 5 nights at the start of our holiday before going on to Bequia. What a good move! We thoroughly enjoyed our time there and recommend this hotel strongly. The staff were without exception absolutely delightful and determined to be as helpful as possible. Our one room cottage (27) had a great view and a large comfortable bed. No frills but all we required except it could have had more lighting. We were on an all inclusive package which we strongly recommend as being on an island there is nowhere else to eat. There is a hotel ferry which transports one on and off the island some 200 yards distant from the mainland. The food was excellent with several choices for each course and no one could say they were scrimping likewise with the complimentary drinks! We ate under thatched open sided cabanas. The Sandy beach is perfect and there’s a charming well kept pool which we generally had all to ourselves. We were not disturbed by noise from the mainland at night although there’s a busy coastal road and inevitably there is some traffic noise mainly in the rush hour but not an issue for us. There’s a well maintained tennis court but otherwise not much scope for exercise apart from climbing the steps to our room which we asked to be away from the sea with a view as stated. Our sincere thanks go to Bianca and her great team for giving us an amazing stay.
