Just got back from two weeks here. You have the joy of being in isolation from the world while having the conveniences of a full resort. No casino or nightlife here but a wonderful first class restaurant which featured amazing food!!! Instead of the usual souvenirs, we purchased loaves of cinnamon bread to take home to our loved ones. Highlights included the Saturday barbecue as well as the daily choices of seafood, each prepared a different way. The service here was excellent and Bianca and her staff do a top notch job of waiting on you. We only saw added people from a cruise on one day but the staff at the resort did well to make sure that guests who were staying there had chairs for themselves.

The beach is nice, with some limited snorkeling out front with smaller fish and you are yards from St. Vincent. The noise that some other reviews referred to really did not factor into our enjoyment of our room. The outdoor shower was a plus. There was decent wi-fi throughout the resort.

Overall, this was a great trip and we would highly recommend this to any couple seeking to disconnect from the world while retaining the comforts of home.

We stayed at this lovely resort for two nights with friends, before heading to Bequia for a week on a catamaran, and then had a day room at this resort after we got back from our sailing trip.

This was a very nice resort, with a warm and welcoming staff. We loved the beauty of this little island, with less than 30 rooms, and we really enjoyed the hike over to the other side. Our room was very nice, and once all of the windows were closed the room cooled down very nicely. We enjoyed the outdoor shower, with a gorgeous view overlooking the water. The food at the resort was good, we really loved the fresh bread options, and the staff provided great service. We enjoyed the pool area when we stayed before our sailing, but for some reason they wouldn’t allow us to use the pool on our return – which we thought was strange. The beach area was very nice, and we enjoyed great service from the two guys at the bar during both of our stays.

We all enjoyed a massage while at this resort, and are happy to share that the services were wonderful.

On the note so positive side was, we didn’t get much sleep during our stay due to (1) the loud base-pumping music that came from a bar that was across the water on the mainland. On our first day it went from 11am until 2am the next day. We were told that it would not happen the next day, which was true, as it didn’t start the next night until 11pm, but still went until 2am. How the neighbors are subjected to this noise for more than one night was unreal – the hotel and surrounding areas should be able to shut this down by 10pm each night. We sure hope this doesn’t happen every weekend. And (2) the mattress was very hard.

We would have rated this hotel higher if we hadn’t been kept awake both nights.

Love it! Stayed 8 days on a business trip. This is a small, intimate resort island. SVG is where the first Pirates of the Caribbean was filmed and it is not over run yet with tourism. SVG is a friendly country that enjoys a good feta (Party). This is a proud Third World country. Do not come here if you expect a Four Seasons resort. If you do visit with that expectation, don’t leave a negative review that you weren’t treated like the colonial Queen because you failed to do your due diligence, as a few reviewers have. The staff here is friendly but they are modest and humble; not intrusive to interrupt your conversations or quiet time, which I appreciate. If you need someone constantly in at your shadow asking what more they can do for you, don’t come here. If you need something, speak up and they do their best to accommodate. If you want to feel unplugged (while still having Wi-Fi) like syncing up with diff cultures, foods, and are looking for a quite getaway, this may be right.

This resort is romantic and beautiful, the rooms are cozy & lovely, service is good, the restaurant isn’t close to a Michelin star but the food is consistently tasty, and meals on the beach in fresh, unpolluted air are beautiful.. The menu isn't as vast as some from large developed cities are used to, but this is a remote tropical island - they do very well with local options. Try all their fresh baked breads! The open concept bar on the beach is also beautiful. Almost every cottage is directly on the shoreline. Turn down service includes making your bed up, straightening up your room/bathroom, and turning on the AC unit. Our beds were comfortable, not too hard or soft. It’s outdoor showers only but they are private and the climate is consistently warm, and so invigorating.

There is often loud music from across the water on weekends. I’m a light sleeper, I wore earplugs and slept soundly every night. If you want to leave the resort and go to the mainland, it’s an easy 4 to 5 minute boat ride on a small covered ferry that runs most hours. The ferry was complementary and we tipped the driver. The water was the perfect temp for swimming-not too cold or warm. Mosquitoes are a nuisance in most warm climates so bring bug spray. If I remember correctly, it takes approx 30 minutes to get from the airport to the resort due to reduced speed limits and ferry. Carnaval is big here too if you enjoy that.

When my daughter decided to get married on the Grenadine Island of Bequia, quarantine restrictions of 48 hours were in place. Young Island was designated a "Quarantine Hotel", so we decided to spend 2 nights there, taking the largest room with a pool in which to quarantine. We had read the food was delicious there so made sure we had all our meals included.

The quarantine was lifted a few months after we booked; however, after much previous research, we couldn't imagine not staying there. And, the decision was the right one.

Corresponding with Bianca was easy and prompt. We were picked up quickly at the dock by one of their boats and taken over on a very short boat ride to Young Island. Rum punch on arrival ;) And wow, it was a strong one. James, the bar tender makes some crazy, different, fresh drinks and we spent a fair amount of time with him in the open air bar.

Our room was a fair hike pretty much straight up to the Duvernette Suite. We are regular hikers, so the steep climb did not bother us much. However, if this is an issue for some, there is a shuttle that can take you up and down. There is a small kitchen, a secure open air shower, a lovely small pool with incredible views and 2 bedrooms in this suite.

We loved the setting for the meals. Each group has their own, open air cabana with attentive, amazing staff. The breads are offered at most meals - the banana, coconut and cinnamon are ones not to pass up. Some meals were buffet while others were sit down.

Kayaks were available to use and it was fun to putter around in those. Or lounging by the pool or on the beach was relaxing as well.

Overall service was efficient but not overbearing. The entire staff was always willing to help anyone on all levels.

Looking forward to visiting this hidden gem again.

I chose this hotel for my compulsory quarantine because the rooms are spacious, have outdoor space, and the food is some of the best on island.
The staff took very good care of me while I was in quarantine. I was texted the daily menu and simply phoned in my order. They always got it right! The supper portions are very generous, so I always had leftovers for next day's lunch. Having a fridge, a microwave and a blender was great. I made smoothies from my fruit plates and juices. Also nice was the coffee maker and coffee for that first cup in the morning.
Due to the volcanic dust, most of the room pools were not in working order. I was given the suite which had a functiong pool, and I was ever so grateful given I had to spend 2 weeks there.
As for the noise many visitors complain about, yes, there are several bars across the bay, and unfortunately, Vincentians like their music very loud. This will not change anytime soon. Forewarned is forearmed.
This resort is an older property, and it is up for sale, therefore the renovations it needs are not forthcoming. My hope is that a buyer with vision and business acumen is found and restores this gem to its former glory. The staff, especially the general manager, Ms.Porter, continue to do a fantastic job keeping this resort functioning.

We have just returned from Young Island, where we spent a wonderful week. The hospitality ( welcome drink on arrival ) was wonderful. Our cottage was in the hillside and we really didn’t have any neighbours to speak of! The views were amazing across the sea to the mainland. The nature walk was equally breath taking, either during the day or sunset. A bar set up at the top would be an added pleasure; which has happened in the past. The food was exceptional, a la crate every night, except for one buffet night, which was still lovely! The drinks menu is good and a variance of cocktails. All staff were very helpful and friendly. We only have 3 negatives about this island:-
1. The mini bar did not contain any drinks, not even bottles of water, but the ice bucket was filled every door. There is no shop on the island and would mean going to a store to stock up. We did mention this to the reception staff who said that drinks could be bought to our room, but we thought that would be very lazy, though there are some tricky steps to manoeuvr, if you have had a few rum cocktails!
2. Be warned, if the cruise liners are in dock in Saint Vincent, there maybe an influx of passengers and spoiling your very quiet day! We were extremely lucky as there were hardly any residents, during our week, no fighting to towel draping over the 14 sun beds, but this was a very different story, when we had a ‘ mini invasion’ last Friday! A difficult situation, it is a private island, but as often the case a public beach...
3. The noise from the night club across the sea ( bearing in mind it is only a 2 minute ferry ride) was booming until 2am or beyond on Sat/ Sun night and on our last night, I had to put cotton wool in my ears, Again, not sure what can be done about it,

When all is said and done, we would definitely return again, a few tweaks here within the complex ( a coffee making machine would be a nice addition in the room and the swim up bar in the sea to be manned more often ) it will deserve 5 stars!

My wife and I stayed at Young Island resort in early December 2021. We booked it in this unfortunate time of Covid as a safe option - because it is on an island served by the hotels own small boat, it isn’t subject to lots of passing visitors. At the same time it is easy to pop over to the mainland any time you like.
Bianca the General Manager and her staff were just outstanding! Nothing was too much to ask. Due to a delay on our flight from London we nearly missed our connecting flight to St Vincent. Bianca arranged for someone from the St Vincent tourist board to meet us in Barbados airport and steer us rapidly through customs, etc, to get us on our flight. Our luggage got left behind at the airport in Barbados and Bianca organised to get it delivered to the hotel. Just brilliant service
Food was great and highly varied: steak, lobster, chicken as well as local specialities like goat. Also the banana bread which I became addicted to (much to the amusement of the restaurant staff). We were on the full board package and never felt bored with the options available.
Bar staff were attentive without being intrusive and the bar area was comfortable
Everyone was super friendly, just too many nice people working there to shout out all the names.
The room was great. Very comfortable. Loved the outside shower. Our cottage had its own plunge pool. I recommend that option if it’s available
The place is just great. What more can I say?

Hi Bianca & Crew:
It's J & E and we are safely back home after our week in paradise with you. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for making our special occasion stay with you, one that we'll remember for the rest of our life.
We were picked up at the ferry dock by King Charles and then greeted by the lovely Olinda, who offered us 2 rum punches and took us for private check in at the office.
Our week in St. Vincent & The Grenadines/Young Island Paradise then began. Manager extraordinaire Bianca Porter had booked us into Luxury Cottage #10.
If you stay here, spoil yourself and stay in this cottage!
Upon entry it looks like your King Bed is floating on the Caribbean sea which appears directly behind the headboard! You also get a separate full sized Living Room, Private patio with loungers, hammock...Soaker Lounge pool...and a Gazebo perched beside a cliff and the jungle, and overlooking the Caribbean which splashes against the cliff! The piece de resistance is the Outdoor Shower, you really feel you are showering outside in the jungle!!!
The grounds are akin to being in the Jungle and are kept immaculate. The pool is large, and the staff work hard to ensure you are happy.
Special shout outs to Lesron, Makayha, and Lateshia!
The Food is simply amazing. Patricia and Zerelda served us amazing waterfront Breakfasts featuring delicious Fish, Pancakes, Omelettes and French Toast that was set afire!
Dinners were tasty great portions, and the Filet Mignon was to die for.
Curried Chicken, Duck Breast, Grilled Steak, and Lamb kabob were all superb!
Young Island make their own breads and we sampled Banana, Coconut, Raisin, Cinnamon, White and whole wheat during our week.
The Private Young Island Beach is white sand heaven and affords great snorkeling too! Loungers, and hammocks are both present for you to employ.
To conclude, we had a 10/10 experience!
Young Island is as close to Heaven on Earth as you can get.
It's simply Paradise Found!
Treat yourself, you deserve to stay here!

I had a client staying at this resort, I came across there to do a fitting for her for an event she was attending one evening, since I had some extra time after our fitting, I decided to have lunch with my client, the lunch was great, the attendant was very pleasant, so I ideally thought this place is great, at night I decided to stay for dinner, there were about 3 tables to be served when we arrive, we sat away from the other tables, then the attendant came to us and asked if we were having dinner, we said yes and was shown to our seats, now the food took quite some time to arrive, we were kinda talking amongst ourselves and saying this food is taking rather long🙄when my food arrived I was applaud at how cold was. Shrimps, rice and some vegetables, one slice of bread and some creamy spring rolls and a rum punch came up to almost 200 ec . It was just meh! I didn’t mind having the food and the cost wasn’t. the issue, the cold meal was!!!!!!! wasn’t very happy about that. The place is beautiful but not sure I’ll come back for any kinda of dinner reservations.

We spent 7 wonderful days on Young Island!
A place that will always hold a special place in my heart - a surprise 50th birthday gift and an even more surprising marriage proposal (I said yes!)
Our cottage (number 20) had amazing sea views and was perfectly positioned, near enough for the facilities but away enough to be perfectly private.
The all inclusive a’la carte menu was great and the food was lovely. All of the staff were friendly and Bianca the manager was lovely too and keen to introduce herself to everyone.
It was a week in paradise before returning to the Coronavirus mayhem!
Do not hesitate in booking a holiday on Young Island it was blissful - relaxing on the private beach on a sun lounger or hammock - though a difficult decision as to which to choose ha!
