The Hermitage is a small plantation inn with an excellent reputation for its charm and warm, West Indian hospitality. The guest rooms are like gingerbread cottages and are styled after the old Planter’s house with a tradition of elegant West Indian style, antiques, mahogany four poster canopy beds, and private verandahs, with swaying hammocks, in an orchard like setting of mango trees and tropical plants. The Hermitage offers tranquility and serenity in its peaceful environment.

We have been to Nevis 5 times but only been here for lunch up until this year. We stayed 3 nights in a large room called The Loft which was more like a suite with a small kitchen, lounge and huge terrace with a great view. All was beautifully presented and clean. We had all meals in the hotel while we were there and they were, without exception, good. Stand out mention must go to the staff who were warm and friendly. We loved our stay and will be back.

Exceptional service and hospitality at every turn. Beautifully kept grounds, quiet and peaceful; the wonderful Caribbean breeze is constant. Enjoyed watching the monkeys while having afternoon sun-downer. Excellent food at *every* meal. Incredible Rum punch. The setting is very conducive to getting to know other guests. The Hermitage is a beautiful combination of whimsical and classic. I would not consider staying anywhere else on the island, and will definitely return!

This is a magical place full of history, charm, nature, authentic architecture and superb hospitality. The grounds are thoughtfully planned and beautifully maintained. The villa we stayed in,Yellow Manor House, was clean, spacious and beautifully designed. The food was excellent ! The owners and staff treat you like family- they ARE a family as most have been there for years. The term "casual chic" goes to a new level here and it is as popular with the locals as it is with tourists. If you want an authentic island experience, this is the place for you. Oh, and it is a GREAT value !!

We went there for lunch and dinner, on Friday afternoons they have brick oven pizzas. The place and the grounds are amazing, full of history. The music playing in the background is soft piano which matches the elegance of the place. The entire time we were there we felt like we were dinning at a relative’s house, very cozy. Plus, on our way out we saw like 10 monkeys, such a great experience!!

Richie, Annie and Cadillev made us feel like family from start to finish. A taxi was waiting for us at the St Kitts Airport which took us directly to a water taxi and we were transported the 20 minutes or so to Nevis as we enjoyed a complimentary Carib beer and a Ting soda. On the Nevis dock, another taxi was arranged to pick us up and take us to the Hermitage. Nevis is a quiet island but has everything you could want for a relaxing break. The Hermitage is a lovely inn with comfortable cottages decorated in a traditional manner which takes you back in time.We loved every moment and the entire staff splendid!
