Rolled the dice and decided to visit Cayman Brac during hurricane season, but we lucked out and had a great week of weather and diving. Stayed at Little Cayman in January of this year for a wide angle workshop, and I have to say, now that I've dived both, I'm partial to Little Cayman for the geography of the dive sites. That being said, this resort did not disappoint. Rooms= Would be nice to have some mini fridge in the rooms, especially this time of year when it is blistering hot and you may not want to trek down to the restaurant or bar to fetch a drink (this is a minor issue), but the resort in Little Cayman does have them in room. Food= varied and plentiful. Don't miss the oatmeal/nut/coconut cookies. Friday night barbecue by the pool is a really nice way to finish a week...steak portions were HUGE! (Split one to avoid waste). Massage= DO get a massage from Addy. AMAZING. Worth every penny. Diving= Yes, valet diving in that you walk to the back of the boat and sit down, and they bring your tank to you. After the dive you have the option of them taking off your tank and they switch it over for the 2nd dive. You mostly leave your gear on board for the next day. Straightforward Caribbean diving with very little current. I recommend the night dive to see more critters. My only issue with the diving here in CB is that it's a bit more difficult to do a "multiple level dive". The 1st dives were great, 2nd dives limited due to depth, some of our 2nd dives were well off the reef, which is fine for sightseeing, but not the best for photography. I prefer to have a wall, and then be able to come up shallow and finish your dive...seems more of this kind of profile on Little Cayman. Saw lots of eagle rays, the ubiquitous stingrays and octopus on the night dives. Water was a balmy 88 degrees, only wore a lycra dive skin (and I always use a lightweight hooded vest for hair comfort only) Staff super friendly all around from the dive shop to the bartenders... Did not tour the island, so I cannot speak to other tours, however, others shared that they went to the lighthouse, etc and for sure, there may be more to do topside here than in Little Cayman...I can't really comment on this as I didn't go outside to do anything except rented a bike and rode to get some Cokes at the store. For those picky soda drinkers, this is a Pepsi place only. They do have bikes you can take out for free.

We thank you for your visit and for your review, Leah M. It's a little hard for us to do the exact same dive profile as Little Cayman, because our topography is much different. On Little Cayman, the walls are very close to shore with little to no hard pan between the shallow reef and top of the wall. Here at Cayman Brac, we have sometimes fairly long distances between the shallow reefs and top of wall. While we could theoretically do the same basic profile divers would spend a large portion of their dive over 50-60' deep hard pan before getting to the wall. And while we know there are often fun things to find in this area - most divers don't enjoy that. But what we lack in this profile you reference we make up in variety, because we have many great long "fingers" to explore with canyons between them. And we have nice shallower dives and we have the deeper walls. We very much appreciate you choosing to visit our resort and hope to see you again.

As always Clearly Cayman didn’t disappoint. This was my second trip to Cayman Brac Beach Resort. I must admit that I am truly in love with the Cayman Islands. The diving was wonderful, staff were awesome and the food delicious. Must disclose that I recently became gluten intolerant and they took care of my dietary needs with no problem at all. I’ll be Brac soon!

"Valet Diving" with Reef Divers at Cayman Brac is as good as it gets in the Caribbean! You leave your dive gear outside the door of your room at the Resort and it is picked up before 7:00 AM the day of your first dive, and that the is last time you will handle your gear until you leave. You arrive on the boat and your gear is assembled and waiting for you. When you get to the dive site, a 5 to 15 minute trip on a very comfortable 46' dive boat, pick up your fins and mask and take a seat on low bench on the stern where the crew will bring your BC and tank, and help you into it. Stand up and jump in - diving could not be any easier. The dive sites are close by and with the winds prevailing from the SE in the summer, it is 5 minutes around the southern tip of the island to waters that for us were virtually calm! This obviously makes your wait between dives is very comfortable. The crew are friendly, experienced and capable guides, pointing out large and small fish and corals - the rays are plentiful as are the lobsters, and the common reef fish are everywhere. There are lots of varieties of VERY BIG sponges. The visibility for us was probably 75' and the water temperature was 87!!! - no wet suits required. There was little if any current. In short, the diving conditions were PERFECT! The Resort is obviously well managed - the staff is friendly and professional. The accommodations are good, beds are comfortable, showers are large enough for 2, and each room has a balcony with a view of the beach. The large pool is beautiful and the beach on the lagoon is very nice with hammocks beneath thatched roofs to keep you out of the sun if that is your preference. The WiFi was quite dependable. The Resort was severely damaged by a hurricane 10 years ago, so the place is pretty much up to date. The food is EXCELLENT! We were on the plan that afforded us access to a buffet for all 3 meals. The choices were varied, and the preparation was excellent. The bar is well stocked and a little pricey. If you want to drink your own, borrow a bike (they are free) and bicycle 10 minutes down the road to Fosters where there is a liquor store (you can't miss it). The bikes have baskets so you can load up and bring your own back to your room. We also recommend a tour of the small island with Mr. Mossy - a local retired school teacher at the high school on the Brac - he will show you the sights and provide you insights about this very unusual island. His fee is $20 CD/person if you have a group, and $30/person if there are just 2 of you. You can arrange for a tour with him at the front desk of the Resort. But, make no mistake - the ONLY good reason to come to Cayman Brac is to DIVE! Diving, eating, drinking and relaxing are all there is to do on this peaceful island - and we offer superlatives for all of these. It really doesn't get any better than Cayman Brac.

From the time you arrive till you leave, the staff is ready to serve you. You don't even have to get sand on you feet if you don't want to. Food was good, but I would of liked to have more sea food. Everyone tries to learn your name starting the first day. The diving operations is first rate, with the staff assisting every diver. You don't have to touch your equipment. Th boats are large and handle 20 divers with two ladders when exiting. I will be going back with my divers soon.
