What a fantastic trip. I celebrated my birthday and it was just super. The staff went above and beyond. I would recommend Southern Cross to anyone interested in an island getaway. Rooms great food excellent and Javier the bartender just the best.
We wanted to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary in a special way, and chose the Southern Cross Club in Little Cayman based on the description and reviews. It did not disappoint! Owner Peter has a very unique and special property and equally wonderful staff. It is a dive resort, but don’t let that put you off if you don’t dive. We rode bikes on deserted roads, had beaches to ourselves, and did the best snorkeling of our lives. We met great people, among them the owner Peter as well as staff and management Jen, Renita, Chef Anu- all of whom went the extra mile to ensure our trip was fabulous. Henry, Shariel, and Shal were also standouts. The meals were outstanding and displayed so artistically- they looked as good as they tasted. If you are looking for a touristy place with nightlife and shopping, Southern Cross is not for you. If you want to feed your spirit and experience the natural beauty of this island and take a real break from life, this is your place. Can’t wait to return. Thanks all.…
The Southern Cross Club on Little Cayman remains the epitome of what an island resort should be, in my opinion. The resort is stunning, the customer service outstanding, and of course, the cuisine is world-class. We love this resort and this little island so much, we keep bringing our friends, so they can experience the best island vacation to be had - casual, relaxing and elegant. And let's not forget about Little Cayman's amazing dive sites and fishing. Peter Hillenbrand, Jennifer Mills and Chef Anu have terrific teams. We'll be back, and bring more friends!
We visited with several friends and had a marvelous time. Celebrating a birthday and St paddy’s day. Great entertainment with our friends Sunny Jim and Barefoot man. Southern Cross is like Cayman use to be. “laid back and Island wasted”. Such a great place to chill. Food was generous and very very good
This was our second trip to the Southern Cross Club and everything was just as we remembered it! We heard that the resort was full, but you wouldn't have known it. It never felt crowded. There was barely anyone on the beach. The food was incredible, and everyone at the resort made us feel right at home. The dive staff are the best we have seen. They stress safety, but also have a fun time with everyone. Their dive briefings are top notch. They tell you about the site itself and show you pictures of some of the things you're likely to see. I can't recommend them enough. We stayed in room 10. It is upstairs in the yellow building, and we loved it! The view is fantastic! The bed is super comfortable. The room is very clean and spacious. There's even an outdoor shower. We will definitely be back. Hopefully soon!…
This was the 2nd time my wife and I visited Little Cayman and the first time we stayed at Southern Cross. Little Cayman diving is probably one of the best in the Caribbean (we have dived all over), and Southern Cross is absolutely our favourite. We stayed in the deluxe Beach bungalows right on the beach which had an outdoor shower and spacious balcony overlooking the ocean. The room was very spacious and the bed very comfortable. The food was great and each and every staff member from the cleaning staff to the dive masters were all very welcoming. We loved it so much we immediately booked a return trip for this winter. Southern Cross now feels like our home on Little Cayman.
If you want a completely relaxing vacation in the most beautiful, tranquil, soul-inspiring spot, look no further than Little Cayman and the Southern Cross Club. Stars glow differently here, the menu tastes more satisfying, the fishing seems more challenging, and the people you meet are definitely worth writing home about. After 19 years of wanting to return, we did. And we'll be back! But, oh, so much sooner.
This was our tenth visit to SCC. We went for the Thanksgiving buffet and to see friends. Everyone was the same. We have been so after it is like going home. Room two is perfect because it is apart from the rest. The diving was fantastic. The dove boats crews are unsurpassed .we have already booked our next trip for April 2023. This visit was our tenth.
We just finished our (6th, 7th?) stay at Southern Cross Club. We had a fabulous 11 days of diving and enjoying this beautiful island and resort. We were lucky enough to dive both sides of the island, and see many beautiful creatures large and small - from pipefish and pipe horses to turtles and sharks. The resort itself is gorgeous and quiet, but what really makes this place so special is the staff. Peter, the owner, is frequently on site and many of the resort and dive staff have been with him for years. We enjoy coming back to visit our friends (other repeat visitors and staff), do some world class diving on healthy walls and reefs, watch the amazing bird life and enjoy the serenity. If you want shopping, casinos, kid friendly environment and late night partying, this is definitely not your place. But diving, biking, kayaking, birding, snorkeling and relaxing are all on the agenda. Plus a wonderful mixologist at the bar in the evenings 🍹…
I was curious to see how things have changed since the pandemic shut down all tourism to the Cayman Islands in March 2020. There are new protocols - masks are required on transportation and when inside. The resort has implemented twice weekly testing of staff and other precautions to keep guests healthy and safe. What hasn't changed is the beauty of the property, top level of service from the staff, incredible diving, and world-class food. I stayed for 15 nights and throughly enjoyed every day. The resort has kayaks, bicycles, and paddleboards for guests to use although the hammocks are very tempting too! The resort had a number of repeat guests when I was there, some who I had met before on previous trips. Because the resort is small, and most guests dive together, it's easy to get to know the other guests and form a friendly community. The dive staff is friendly and professional. It's true concierge diving with guided underwater dives where the divemasters point out both large and small sealife. The one frustration is that both the Cayman Islands and the US are requiring a negative COVID test the day before travel. This adds a level of stress and risk to the trip. (Visitors from the UK are able to return home without testing at this time.) The resort does assist guests by collecting the information needed for the test when you arrive, schedules the pre-departure test, and provides transportation to the testing site. They also have designated rooms for quarantine should you test positive then or at any time during your trip. Hopefully, these requirements will loosen in the near future. I was glad I was able to travel back to this special island and the Southern Cross Club and have already planned another trip later this year. I highly recommend this resort.…
