We’ve visited a dozen Caribbean spots, and PPR is the most relaxing. Beautiful, quiet, remote, wonderful staff, superb meals, excellent snorkeling! Food was superb. They did vegetarian/pescatarian food for us, plus accomodated guests with food allergies. Dinner is at tables of 4 to 6 people. We met some great folks. We liked the oceanfront rooms, but they all look nice. Every room is near the sand and the common area and pool. We snorkeled; did the dive boat a few times. Divers were happy and so were we. Staff briefed both divers and snorkelers on safety and what we’d see. The waves were variable, and staff told us which upcoming days were likely to be calmer. You can snorkel off the resort. The best snorkeling we found was Point Of Sand -- rent a car or find some other way to get out there. Talks some evenings by local experts. Bring cash in case you’d like to tip for their work. Don’t miss Tanja talking about iguanas. The staff! We’ve rarely seen such a hardworking group. The person serving you dinner may sweep the pool area the next morning — and be your divemaster that afternoon. A buge help in travel changes, in offering advice, and in just plain local storytelling and trivia. Our stay ended a few days before the country shut down. Everyone working knew they were facing weeks with no income. They talked about it when we asked, but never complained and were as cheeerful and helpful in the final days as ever. We’ll be back!

I so appreciate your review and yes, we will be reopening just as soon as the Grand Cayman airport reopens for in and out travelers. Currently our target date is October 3. We are all anxious to get back to work and to share the beauty that is Little Cayman. I look forward to your return. All our best, Susan Howard, Owner

Hotel's Favorite
Love this Resort! It might not be for everyone because it's not what would be considered by some as 'luxury', but for us it's perfect. It doesn't have a soft white sandy beach-front but it has a beautiful ruggedness and once you get over the seagrass it's perfect for snorkelling. It's a quiet resort without any TVs so unless you look at your ipad/iphone you can actually switch off from the real world. You won't see hordes of tourists at this resort but you are likely to see a variety of birds buzzing overhead eg frigates, pelicans and other feathered friends. It's a great place to stay if you appreciate nature. If you want some activity aside from the diving, there are bicycles for the guests to use, which are free of charge, but if you really don't want to do anything you can just lounge by the pool and enjoy the unimpeded views across the ocean. The dive operation is really slick, professional and safe. All the dive 'guides' are very experienced, knowledgeable, helpful and patient. The food at this tiny Resort is incredible - you will never be hungry while staying here! It's scrumptious, innovative and just so darn good. If you get to try Di's coconut scones for breakfast you are in for a real treat :-) also, Gokul's vindaloo is mouth-wateringly delicious. Staying here is so comfortable and is a great place to unwind and re-charge.

First let me say that to use the word "slick" in any reference to our resort is probably the most flattering comment I have ever received! Every two weeks I fly to Dallas and very un-graciously lug back two 50-lb. dive bags full of supplies and a carry-on, generally full of plates and glassware, that I can hardly lift in the overhead bin container. Since I travel so frequently I use my AA miles to pay for my tickets. One time I was sitting on Row 24 and the man next to me asked what I did for a living. I stated I owned a resort in the Cayman Islands. He then asked if that were true, why was I sitting in Row 24 and shlepping so much stuff. THAT WAS WHY I was in Row 24 I replied. What we all do to keep a small resort running on a remote island is never pretty, but when we inspire such confidence in our guests, it's all worth it. We are so grateful for guests like you and we each hope to see you again soon. All the best, Susan Howard, Owner and Shlepper

Our experience at Pirate's Point Resort was absolutely fantastic. We absolutely loved our time on Little Cayman. The friendly and knowledgeable staff operated like clock-work at the resort and on the dive boat. Everything was taken care of. The food was outstanding and no one was going hungry. ;-) The remote location was just what we needed, getting away from the big city gave us a chance to wind down and relax in this beautiful remote location. Walks on the beach, looking at sea life in the surf and even snorkeling nearby provided fun and relaxation. We even took the provided bikes and rode around to various points on the island and met some of the locals. If you're a diver and also like a bit of pampering, then look no further, they will take very good care of you while you stay. We dove NITROX while at the resort due to the 100 ft max depth for recreational diving in the Caymans. They have 32% ready to go. Check your tank, sign off and your tanks will be loaded and put on the boat for you.

Thank you for your generous review of Pirates Point. I am so happy that you enjoyed your stay, your diving, and Dianne's and Gokul's abundant food! Everyone at Pirates Point loves what they do and where they are and this is not a fun time for any of us. We miss our waters, our little sand crabs, our iguana's, and our guests. Promise that when this coronavirus has eased and the world opens back-up that you'll be back. We look forward to more pampering of all our guests. All my best and stay well, Susan Howard, Owner

Just returned from our second trip to Pirates Point. My family and I were certified there last year by a member of their highly qualified staff. The team at Pirates Point stress safety on the boat and under the water. They do an excellent job watching over their divers and keeping their beautiful reef safe. The food is outstanding. There is not much on this island, which appealed to us. After the two morning dives we would have lunch and sit on the beach reading/relaxing. The only other people on the beach are those staying at the resort (which just has 10 rooms, so again, not many people - bonus!) At night the stars are so bright without any light pollution. I dove in Grand Cayman for two days after leaving Little Cayman. The diving in Little Cayman (IMO) is far superior. Thank you Gaye and Michelle and the rest of your wonderful team! PS I did not dry my hair or put on make up for a week. Packed in a backpack - swimwear, athletic clothes, flip flops. Very casual, which was such a treat as I have to dress up every day for work.

As I just told Ruth, it was so much fun having the two of you (and your crew) at Pirates Point and I thank you for returning. Little Cayman is indeed tiny so no "social distancing" is emphasized - it is a natural occurrence! Right now it is probably one of the safest places to be; however, the Cayman's are under a strict no-flights in or out at the moment. It is stressful and sad for us all, but safety to one another comes first. I know that everyone, including our guests, staff, and I will be happy when we can return to our beautiful blue waters and Dianne's and Gokul's delicious food. Please return and stay with us again when you can. Best regards and I hope you and your family stay well. Susan Howard, Owner

Hi Ruth, it is so good to hear from you. I so enjoyed you, Johanna, and all your gang. Doesn't it seem like a life-time ago? I am home in Dallas and have been unable to fly back to Little Cayman. I miss the resort and all our lovely guests very much. I know everyone is working hard to stay well. Please know my thoughts and prayers are with you all and I look forward to seeing you back at Pirates Point soon. Stay healthy, Susan Howard, Owner
