We returned to Pirates Point for the first time since 2019 (thanks, pandemic!) and were delighted to be back. As always, the diving was spectacular, and the new and continuing dive masters were attentive and eager to help us find little critters. We've always appreciated the way that dive masters at PP gently help guests to be better divers, and this year was no different -- even experienced divers can benefit from their teaching. We were a little concerned at first by the new schedule (off to the boat at 8 am rather than 9), but it worked spectacularly well. Thanks to Susan, Michelle, and the whole team for another wonderful week. We'll be back again in 2023!
Words cannot adequately describe how much we enjoyed our stay at Pirates Point. From the outset of making a booking, Michelle was fantastic about confirming that the resort was very careful about COVID measures (which it proved to be) and that fair arrangements were in place in the event of unpredictable COVID circumstances. When the Caymans govt brought in new COVID testing requirements, Michelle was brilliant about assisting with guiding to Doctors Express for late evening testing prior to flying from GCM to Little Cayman, alongside ensuring that the regular LFDs required on Little Cayman were no more than a minor detour post diving/snorkelling. In the resort the facilities, staff and ethos were simply fantastic. The “let’s do everything we can to enrich your stay” ethos of the owner permeates through all staff, and all we can say is that if you are lucky enough to have the chance to visit, then grab it! Our room was beautifully fitted out, spacious and comfortable, with amazing views. Special mention has to go to Joanne and Winston for the best food we have ever had on vacation, especially in the face of challenging dietary requirements – if you want truly amazing and interesting food then Pirates Point is the place to go! The diving and snorkelling was fantastic, with Adi and Brooks delivering great trips to sites on both the south and north sides of the island, and making each trip fun, safe and exciting. Even snorkelling from the dive boat delivered Reef, Black-tip and Nurse Sharks, regular Spotted Eagle Rays and Loggerhead, Hawksbill and Green Turtles. Thank you, Susan, for creating such a gem of a resort – we have nothing but fond memories. Keith & Sonia…
The diving was wonderful, the dive staff was very attentive and professional. Accommodations were good as we stayed in an air conditioned refreshed room. Unfortunately the food was very average and we expected gourmet food as it’s always been in the past. I’m sure that will be corrected ASAP
This was a perfect vacation - diving all morning and relaxing most of the afternoon. The diving is the best we have experienced thus far because the reef is close by , diverse and bountiful. The dive masters are great teachers with attention to detail and they encourage skill development. Pirates Point is comfy and laid back. The food is excellent and we enjoyed socializing with the other guests. We cannot wait to return.
The diving was great, the dive masters were attentive without being over-bearing, nitrox was available. The resort was comfortable, very relaxed, and friendly. The meals were varied and tasty. An overall great experience.
This was our first time staying at Pirates Point Resort. What a gem! We booked in 2019 before the pandemic and were finally able to make the trip happen in May 2022. My wife and I joined a group that had stayed at PPR several times previously. I now know why they keep returning. The accommodations, food, and diving were amazing. The weather was ideal for us and we were able to dive Bloody Bay Marine Park every day, which is a 20-minute boat ride from the dock. Susan, the owner is a delight, and Michelle, the manager, runs a tight ship, in the best way. The divemasters - Adi, Brooks, and Rusty - worked tirelessly to make sure the diving was safe and enjoyable for everyone. They did a great job of accommodating divers with different experience levels and interests. Honeyka (sp) and Katie on the resort staff were terrific. We had a remodeled oceanfront room (#5B) with AC which was quite roomy and comfortable. We loved relaxing on the back patio which had a beautiful ocean view. Pirates Point is known for its cuisine and it didn't disappoint. Every meal was fresh, well prepared, and tasty. It's a small, intimate resort and you get to know the staff and other guests. A word of caution for those unfamiliar with Little Cayman - it is very sleepy. There's not much to do except dive, eat and chill, which suited us just fine. We will return and plan on being among the large number of PPR regulars.…
The diving was great! Obviously the weather, fish, etc need to cooperate to make dives amazing which was the case for me. That aside, the dive operation itself is wonderful. You get 2 tank dives leaving the resort at 8am and you get back normally around 1pm. The dive masters (Addie, Brooks, Rusty) were great. They helped find those little things that we all miss. They helped the less experience divers have wonderful dives. They made sure all of our equipment worked fine so we could all enjoy every dive. What is nice is they allow you to dive as long as you want making sure you stay in the no deco range and you still come to the surface with over 500psi in your tank. Makes for wonderful diving. The dive resort is wonderful with a maximum of 20 guest it allows you to get to know your fellow divers. The late afternoon you can explore the island or just relax. Then there is the food. Every meal was wonderful. I wanted more just because it all tasted so good. Overall it was a great vacation. I came home very relaxed and without a worry in the world.…
Pirate’s Point is a great place to stay. All the team members were great. Food was really good and different every day. The rooms were spacious and comfortable with great water pressure in the shower. Diving was beautiful and the crew were all fun to be around and led safe dives.
Great food, easy diving, terrific dive support and dive masters. A relaxing and friendly place to spend a week or two. Dive boat is well equipped with emergency gear and licensed captain. Most rooms have been recently refreshed.
The owner, picked us up from the airport. Just going to type that twice. The owner, picked us up from the airport. My spouse got her AOW certification here. I achieved my AOW certification in 1997 while diving the Red Sea. The quality of the training she received is the best I have personally ever seen. This is the healthiest reef/ecosystem I have been on in years. Give Michelle a shout. You will be glad you did.
