Detailed Reviews
We stayed in Unit #7 at the Avalon, and it was the perfect spot for our group of 3 couples and a baby. The beach is pristine, the condo is well equipped and beautifully decorated. We loved our time at the Avalon and in Cayman, and are already planning our next trip back to stay in #7 again!

I love the tropics and I have been through all of the Carribean. I have stayed in Grand Cayman on over 10 ocassions. My stay at the Avalon was perfect. The beach is sugary white and uncrowded. There are thatched huts for people that prefer to stay out of the sun. The 3 bedroom condo had an oceanfront view and balcony from the living room and master bedroom. The water was a beautiful aqua color which changed to a dark blue a couple of hundred yards out. If you want luxury, beauty and peace this is the place to go.

Our family has been visiting Grand Cayman anually for over 20 years, and I must say that the Avalon is one of the prettiest accomodations on Seven Mile Beach. The rooms are pleasantly decorated, spacious and clean. The beach is on the small side but offers both substantial shade and great sun. The pool and hot tub outfront are not huge but are pleasant and clean. The garages are a great addition. The property is upkept incredibly well. All in all, the Avalon is an excellent choice for accomadations in Grand Cayman!

My wife and I loved the Avalon in Grand Cayman. It is on the prettiest stretch of 7 mile island, but it is not crowded as it is closer to Georgetown. The rooms are cleaned every day and the staff is quite helpful. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who wants a quiet, relaxing week in paradise. There are many condos and hotels along this stretch of the island, but we felt that we were staying at the best.

This is our second time staying at The Avalon on 7 Mile Beach. The location is superb. June is "Low Season" so we practically had the beach to ourselves. It was rare to see more than a handful of people. Unit 28 is a great condo. Very nicely decorated and well appointed, no complaints there. We booked at a very nice rate, lower than usual. Later found out this was due to installation of hurricane windows. No problem as we weren't bothered at all.
I was bothered upon check in to learn that our rate was increased. I told the management staff that that was not the rate we booked at. Had my deposit form, etc. They said yes they knew that but there "was an error when you made the reservation." I didn't push it as I should have. Their only explanation was there was a mistake with the online booking. Really poor business practice. Found another recent Trip Advisor review with a similar complaint. Another "ding" against the Avalon is the pool is never clean. I know it is tough to keep a public pool clean, but really there were so few people using the pool, vacuuming every morning should have taken care of this.
Again, Unit 28 was great. As was Unit 25 we stayed in before. Location is superb! Gorgeous beach. Management and upkeep need to improve.

For me to return to the same place twice is almost unheard of, but we came back to the Avalon condos after our wonderful experience last summer.
The beach is the beach of your dreams - perfect sand, crystal clear, warm calm water, and there was rarely anyone else on it at the same time as us, though July is not in high season. The pool too was never busy. I think that there was never more than one other family using it at the same time as us, which was great considering how many condos actually have the use of it.
Swimming in the pool under the stars was lovely and I would recommend it.
The daily maid service was helpful (she is off on Sundays), and my only gripe, if you can call it that, is that the air con only has one control for the whole flat. We were staying as guests of friends who liked the flat to be like a fridge and as a result I went to bed every night wearing a nightdress, t'shirt and cardigan - yes it really was that cold!
Apart from that little minor point, I think the place is a great place for a relaxing holiday.
Our friends have been coming to Cayman for years, and have stayed in most of the top hotels and checked out all the luxury condos. They have already booked for next summer. I think that says it all.

The Avalon (specifically Unit 9) is our favorite condo on the absolute best beach anywhere. Beautiful condo, perfect sand, private beach and (as always) crystal clear Cayman water. This was our second visit to this condo and, frankly, why would you stay anywhere else? The staff are wonderful, they provide daily housekeeping (sometime rare for condos) and you get the use of a garage with an opener to keep your car out of the blazing Cayman sun. Restaurants are close, the beach is, well, you're on the beach. Nice pool, excellent high speed internet (on the beach too). Very private, secluded and (in the summer anyway) you essentially have the place to yourself.

First, I have to say that this condo was extremely clean, had everything we needed with an amazing view. I have nothing but good things to say about the condo itself. Before we arrived we received an email stating that they would be doing construction on doors in the condos and that our rate would be discounted for our stay because of the inconvienence that it would cause. When we arrived the office manager discounted our entire stay. We then receieved a call two days before our departure saying that there was a mistake and that our whole stay should not have been discounted and now they need more money from us. We were also told that we needed to move our car out of the garage by 4pm to allow the new doors to be delivered in our garage! My husband went down and talked to them in depth and showed them our previous email that we had received and they still insisted that we owed them more money and that there had been a mistake and that we shouldnt have been discounted in the first place. This is simply just extremely poor customer service. I will not stay at this condo again only because of this situation which is a shame because the condo itself is great.

We spent five days at The Avalon in November of 2010. We stayed in unit #19 with our two teenage daughters. We all loved the condo. It was beautifully decorated, modern, spacious. The staff does an excellent job of maintaining the place and keeping it clean. I would highly recommend The Avalon to anyone!

We just got back from the most relaxing 5 days in Grand Cayman. We stayed in condo #5. It was located on the first floor with a swimming pool just steps from it. We had the best view of the pool and the blue water. They were painting the exertior while we were there, but it did not disturb us a bit. The condo would be perfect for a large family. It had three nice sized bedrooms with t.v.s. ,and each had its own bathroom. The master bath had two sinks and seperate shower and bathtub. The master bedroom has an ocean front view and lani. The kicthen and family room were together and had an oceanfront view. It was very comfortable and roomy. There is plenty of shade on the beach. There are two tiki huts and large trees. It is in a uncrowded section of seven mile beach. It is walking distance to the Westin and the Ritz. We took the Red Sail Sports Snorkle trip through the Westin. I highly recommend this , as you get to snorkle with the stingrays and a coral reef. The manager is very accomodating as she let us have a late check out. I highly recommend this condo to anyone looking for a quite retreat away from the crowds.

Hi - it’s easiest if you have a car but using the local ‘bus’ system in Caymen is truly awesome....just walk to the road & small vans pass by at least every 2-5 min. Hold your hand up & they pull over. You ask them when to drop you off (they all take different routes, but it’s all major roads). Carry cash to pay the fare + tip. It’s a cross between a taxi & a shared shuttle, but stops at any point for you on their route! ((So just gps a grocery & catch a lift))! There IS a small store across the street with some snacks & alcohol (right across from the Avalon).
Definitely! Very sandy beach. Some snorkeling nearby. Get a ground floor unit and it’s just steps to the beach.
Hi,
