    This hotel definitely did not live up to my expectations... Upon check in I requested room upgrade with my gold status and was told there was none... After insisting for them to double check they said maybe gulf view but would be another hour or so wait bc they had to clean room... Once I got the room it was not upgraded but same courtyard room I booked... Looked on internet and yep there’s still plenty of upgraded rooms... I get that it’s based on availability but according to internet there were still rooms... The rooms was okay and bed was comfy and clean... We had multiple rooms and I asked to bill on my CC that I reserved room with and they billed my poor college students debit card that they requested upon check in for HOLD only...

    ...I looked at other hotels on 7 Mile Beach and found that the Marriott was much less expensive than the Ritz and Kimpton but you are definitely giving up the beach area for the lower price... The $60 resort fee/day includes almost daily yoga classes, the bikes, SUPs, snorkel gear, kayaks, etc...

It ended up taking out over $2K along with foreign transactions fee $65... Honestly I did get a great rate with my member status but in hindsight I would have rather pay more elsewhere for a more relaxed fun group experience...

But we opted to return to the GC Marriott as we couldn’t justify the $$$$ based on our needs... That being said, the pastry chef that made my custom Flamingo cake needs to be commended!!... On the outdated property, yes, its wearing... PLEASE, do not choose this “Nashville” style decor for your new rooms... Overall, it was pretty tacky, not beachy... This is a great hotel and location and even with the minor complaints, I still highly recommend for the value...

    If you are looking for a beach vacation, DO NOT stay at this resort... I understand mother nature is unpredictable but they have not had a constant beach for 4 YEARS yet they still bill themselves as a beach resort... Our room was old and dated with a broken dresser and a coffee maker that belonged in a motel not a high floor ocean view room with a balcony that we paid up for handsomely... I could go on about the daily morning mad rush for pool chairs, the algae filled turtle pond, the lack of music at the pool because the speakers don't work etc etc etc but I'll just say...Please Don't Stay Here!...

    ...Overall a bit disappointing because despite it being situated on “Seven Mile Beach”, there is no beach here... Secondly, they say a lot of water activities are included in the stay (mandatory resort fee) - kayaks, paddle boards, and snorkelling equipment... They should at least give the equipment for use till close to sunset and let people borrow the snorkels overnight (to be used in the morning before their office opens at 9am)... Overall, for the price, I wouldn’t recommend this resort...

    Everyone who loves beach vacations needs to understand that there is NO BEACH at this place... If you’re hoping for a lovely 7 Mile Beach experience, find another place... Anchor & Den food is not good... My hangar steak (ordered Medium Rare) was so raw, it was still mooing - and had to go back twice... Drinks are ferociously expensive and overpriced, plus you have an unfavorable exchange rate which makes everything even more expensive... I would have rather spent more $$ per night for a better beach experience...

    ...It was not only super disappointing as we went to this beach for the beach experience, it was especially difficult with a baby and let alone dangerous as you had to carefully step over huge pieces of broken concrete, rocks, etc to get into the water. Not only is this false advertising as a beach house but the videos that they display on all tvs are of a 40' beach!... We booked directly with this Marriott and they should have informed us or allowed all guests to use one of the beaches at their sister properties for the duration of their vacations... We will not be returning to the Marriott in the future and they should have a disclaimer on their site or let their guests know in advance of the fact that there is no beach...

    We have been Marriott fans for 25 years and generally stay with them on most vacations... The entire staff was great from the front door throughout the property... There was always seating for breakfast and we could get 2-3 pool chairs anytime between 9-10am... The pool staff sets up your chairs and brings you an umbrella if needed... The food was good and bar staff was great... The cards are only for the continental portion of the breakfast, not any of the prepared or hot foods... So what we thought was a fully comped meal for 3 people turned out to be a $75 breakfast (the breakfast cards have a credit value of $15 CI, and the full buffet is like $35 CI per person)... Every taxi driver and the servers in restaurants were friendly... Quick taxi rides to plenty of other options...

    ...Also, it was hard to get any hot water around 5:00-6:00pm as everyone is showering!... If you wanted a chair near the front of the beach, you had to go down by 6:30am to claim a chair or they would be all gone by 7:00... The reason for this is that all the guests at the Sunshine Suites across the street could only pay $35 to come over and use all the amenities the Westin guests could use... Also the Westin hosts lots of conventions and they sometimes reserve areas especially for those guests...

    ...Any issues (our remote control battery died and our room key deactivated on day 4) were VERY quickly resolved and the staff was apologetic... We did not know this when we booked and we were told after several months... When I called in January (6 weeks prior to our trip) I was told there would be a beach shuttle to a private beach for Marriott guests with a towel hut, chairs, a bar & restaurant and bathrooms... Instead we were offered a shuttle bus to a public beach with vendors and public bathrooms... This was also where all the cruise ships take their passengers for beach excursions... Tip: take the public buses ($5 for 2 people from Georgetown shopping up to the Marriott)... Just hail a bus like you would a taxi in a city... Anchor & Den and the sushi did not disappoint!...

    ...The staff was very kind and full of good info. They helped me take the local public bus to Hell and helped with taxis... I grabbed the free hotel bikes and rode to George Town (1.5 miles south) as well as Smith Cove (3 miles south)... The $60 resort fee/day includes almost daily yoga classes, the bikes, SUPs, snorkel gear, kayaks, etc..... Because of the beach erosion, they offer a shuttle to the public beach next to the Kimpton every 30 mins... There you can rent lounge chairs not covered by the hotel...

    ...Carlo and Rey were extremely helpful, accommodating and positive when we were having trouble making the reservation through the website. The grounds of the hotel were quite beautiful and there was complimentary use of kayaks, bicycles, snorkeling equipment etc... Everyone who worked there was consistently friendly - and really seemed to mean it, not just trained to act friendly... We enjoyed our interactions with Teresa and Ruth at one of their restaurants... Also, at their Veranda restaurant the first night we were there, the waiter Michael was great, making great menu suggestions and being a friendly positive person... Overall, we felt very welcomed and comfortable there and would without a doubt love to return... Thanks again to Carlo and Rey for making it all work out and getting us off to a great start!...

    The redeeming part of this vacation were the exceptional people who work at the Marriott. Without exception, everyone there was kind, personable, and aimed to please.We were disappointed that there was no beach space to speak of and the pool area was teeming with people (think Vegas)... The hotel did have a shuttle to a nearby beach which was beautiful which saved the day for us... They have beach chairs set up, wonderful people to assist, and they shuttle food orders from the main hotel (but allow two hours to receive it)... The Marriott is making the best of an unfortunate situation caused by Mother Nature...

The waterfront (formerly beach before loss of beach due to a hurricane) by the hotel is also nice, but there is no beach... They provide water sports equipment and there are 5 floating loungers in the water which are nice... Both the water at the private beach and the hotel are great for snorkeling and you can see a variety of different small fish... The food and drinks at the 3 different restaurants (and in room dining) are all very, very good for a resort of this caliber... Anchor and Den is great for the breakfast buffet, Vista has good pool food, and Veranda has an excellent(!!!)... Everyone was truly excellent from the pool attendants, front desk, housekeeping, waitstaff, drivers, and doormen!... They were so kind, easy to talk to, and so nice to our 7 year old daughter... I think the resort probably deserves to be priced at a slightly lower price point (considering the beach situation and pool), but besides that it is very deserving of 4 stars!...

    ...There is no sandy beach but they have a staircase that goes straight into the water if you want to swim, wade or snorkel. For beach, they shuttle you to a really nice private beach... Now they have their own private beach they take you to, near the Kimpton Seafire... The private beach is amazing with all the Mariott beach amenities including chairs, umbrellas, towels, drink service, food, kayaks, paddle board..... It's about a 10 min shuttle ride and they have very frequent shuttles... We never had to wait longer than 10 min... Soft sand, calm water, not rocky... The hotel staff are extremely friendly and go above and beyond... Both the restaurants on site are extremely good... They also have rotating events almost every day of the week... Our favorite was Zarautz (spanish basque / tapas), seafood night, and ramen nights... The crepes at breakfast are also really good...

However, these are only available starting at 9am and need to be returned by 4:30pm...     My husband and I spent six nights at the Marriott Grand Cayman Beach Resort. Overall, the resort was nice and centrally located... We did have a car rental for our trip but there were a lot of places within walking distance like Pepper's (one of my favorites), Scoops (best ice cream), A La Kabob, and Camana Bay (10 minute walk)... The snorkeling in front of the resort was rather interesting in that there are a whole bunch of artificial reef balls with sea life swimming in and out... We enjoyed the snorkeling at Macabuca (10 minute drive from the resort) as well as the East End...

    Enjoyed two nights here before moving to the more upscale (and more expensive) beach front Westin... But despite no sand, the stay here was fabulous... Damian at the pool is an absolute treasure... Our room had a balcony and the bedding provided the best night sleep I've had in a year... Food and beverages were limited to basically two kitchens but everything we ordered was great... There is one staircase at the far end of the property that leads into the water for swim access... I would recommend this place for anyone looking for an upscale experience at a more affordable price point...

My stay in the hotel was absolutely fantastic. All of the staff were very friendly at all points of my day. I would like to shout out Junita, the lady who runs the hotel’s activities. Not only did she keep me and my family entertained throughout with week with fun new activities and events, but she had such a wonderful personality. Each day she would greet us with a big smile and ask us about our visit so far, creating a wonderful conversation. She was a memorable part of this trip. The pool staff was also fantastic. Very helpful yet also friendly. We enjoyed how the staff would engage in conversations with us during our time at the hotel. I would without a doubt suggest this hotel to others in the future.

Fantastic stay. The hotel staff are warm and friendly. Neil was particularly helpful and provided amazing service pool side. They kept the grounds clean and beautiful. The food and drinks we had on site were delicious. A beautiful place to stay. Just wish there had been a beach to walk down at night.

We are staying at the Grand Cayman Marriott right now and having a wonderful time. Food and pool are great. The staff are remarkable - great service, conversations and recommendations (especially for out of towners like us). Special calls outs to a few - - Neil - he goes above and beyond to make sure all are enjoying their time by the pool! - Justin- the best bar service! - Belle - so sweet and attentive during our brunches at the resort! 4 stars as we didn’t realize the extent of the renovations, perhaps on us, but there have been some disruptions during our stay as a result of the work going on.

Jerome at the pool is awesome and always helps to find the best spot and takes care of you all day. There so building work happening to remodel the rooms, but it didn’t effect my stay. All staff are friendly and helpful.

I cannot stress how much amazing the staff is here. They do everything to make sure that you have everything you need to have an amazing stay. Special shout out to Neil & Jerome for our daily poolside setup, Rashon for making the best pina coladas at Vista Bar happy hour, the staff in charge of activities (hair braiding & snow cones) and María del Carmen at the front desk. Staff is extremely friendly and welcoming. There isn’t a beach directly in front of the hotel - you can walk directly into the ocean. Hotel is currently under renovation, so expect some noise. It didn’t interrupt our stay though.

The entire staff was attentive personable and remembered your name from one day to the next. MJ assisted me this morning to get bikes andNeil has been The Man to get drinks by the pool he not only remembered my name but also the names of the other business associates that were here with me. This is my 3rd trip to this same resort and I plan to return.

I’ve stayed at this property several times over the past 7 years or so but hadn’t visited since July 2018. So I was shocked when I arrived and saw that a hurricane last year had decimated the beach at the property (as well as several other properties) to the point that there is no more sand front. Where you can enter the water is littered with rocks throughout which makes it painful and slippery to navigate the water. The previous beach was one of the high points of the hotel, sandy, clear and full of fish. The hotel of course can’t do anything about Mother Nature but it was a bit disappointing to come expecting a beach vacation and not really having a beach. The rooms are getting a nice upgrade (we stayed in a renovated guest room) and we have always enjoyed the food and staff here (great breakfast). But I’m not sure I would stay here again without a proper beachfront given the price of the rooms. You would need a much larger pool to accommodate more people when it’s at capacity and there’s no real way to do that. The pool previously was not used by a ton of people because of the beautiful sandy beach but I imagine that will change with the existing beach situation.

Great service throughout the hotel. Beautiful restaurant on the water. Shankar served us every day and was great. Overall the hotel needed work and was very noisy during the day and early morning due to construction.

The Marriott Grand Cayman offered exceptional service during our stay. The staff was friendly, attentive, and went above and beyond to make our visit enjoyable. However, the property itself left something to be desired. While the location was beautiful, the rooms and facilities seemed a bit outdated and in need of some renovations. Overall, a great experience thanks to the staff, but the property could use a facelift. One member of the staff at the pool Shankar was truly next level. He was friendly and shared his story with us while always ensuing that we had everything we needed! Thank you Shankar for making the experience so enjoyable!
