Great stay at the Kimpton with our family of 4, including two kids 9 and 12. The service was really nice, providing towels at the front door prior to excursions and offering to take them when you returned. Will set up your chair for you at the pool or beach with towels. Flag service was amazing to be able to order drinks and food. Frozen grapes and ice pops were a nice treat. We didn’t have one bad encounter with any staff the whole week. Housekeeping was great they kept the room so clean and left cookies daily.

Coccoloba was yummy and they have great pina coladas. It was a great way to start our vacation.

We took out the kayaks, tricycle and paddelboards one day which was fun. And they have a great raft in the ocean for all to use plus individual ones which I loved. It would have been helpful if someone would carry those to the pool or beach for you though as they were heavy and I was carrying for my kids as well. They provided free beach toys upon request. A hammock or some swing chairs would be a nice added touch to the property. They had a nice fire pit but it wasn’t on for some reason.

Ave and Avecita were good and convenient for breakfast and dinner as was the little pantry for a quick breakfast though options somewhat limited.

The fitness center was temporarily relocated to one of the bungalows with limited machines etc. They did move it back the last day we were there and it was nice. I feel like we would have used it more if it had been in its usual spot but it gave me an excuse to skip it! A heads up about the relocation from the hotel would have been nice though. I did take one yoga class while there but it was relocated to the ballroom due to weather. While I appreciated them not cancelling all together, I wish they would have put a little more prep work into it. The sound system wasn’t hooked up so no music, the lights were bright, and there were remnants of the last party on the floor as it hadn’t been vacuumed yet. The instructor was good though. A bit bummed I didn’t get to do the outdoor paddle board yoga or spin due to weather so will have to wait till next time. The hotel did try to create some rainy activity schedules due to storm which I thought was nice but nothing really interesting. The one pool table is really the only thing to entertain an older kid indoors.

I was a bit disappointed to find out upon arrival that there were no kids activities due to it being slow season. I was bummed bc that was important to me in selecting this hotel. My kids enjoyed bracelet making, movie night, s’mores on the beach, fire dancer etc at the Westin last time so I wanted them to have that available. I feel the hotel should make it known that it’s only available certain months. They did have a great splash pad though so it made up for it a bit and really nice shady lounge areas around it. The kids camp area was a little depressing.

The social hour was great every night. Enjoyed grabbing a glass of wine before sunset and the kids liked the fruit snacks. The free coffee and cocoa was super nice in the morning as well. I appreciated that while the resort fee is high, you do receive nice amenities like that as well never having to buy water bottles etc. I didn’t feel nickeled and dimed.

I do wish they wouldn’t have so many chairs reserved cabanas though. We had obstructed views or limited chair options on some of the busier days. And while I realize that it’s not needed most of the time, a heater for the pool would be nice as it was very cold after some rainy days so I was unable to swim.

The room was super spacious and comfortable. I was pleasantly surprised how good the north sound view was and loved sitting on the balcony to watch the sunrise on the comfy couch out there.

We took a golf cart over to indigo the last day for breakfast. I didn’t really care for the food and service compared to Ave. we also had to sit inside due to flies and mosquitoes. They have a 10th floor restaurant which we heard was good but unfortunately they don’t open till 4pm and the manager did not want to take us up just to see the view which was a bummer.

Hotel was very convenient to turtle center and other restaurants though we did have a car. The library bar is pretty cool.

We stopped at the Ritz as I debated staying there. It has a more upscale feel in my opinion but not in a good way. Doesn’t feel like an island hotel and many older people of retirement age. It also feels very large so lots of walking. I’m not sure I’m curious enough to try it next time. Another family we met split their time and said they preferred the Ritz but not sure I’d agree, perhaps different experience staying there vs visiting.

We visited Beaches in Turks and Caicos last year. While that was all inclusive we only paid a little more for this vacation and it was by far a much better value and experience.

All in all a great visit and we are likely to return for our next visit to Cayman. Thank you Kimpton for a great vacation!

I wanted a special trip for our family celebration in honor of my 60th birthday in December 2019. The Kimpton Seafire Resort, recommended by our travel agent from ProTravel, absolutely delivered! From the minute we pulled up to the front door to the minute we left, the friendly attentive full service was evident. We were greeted by our always smiling concierge Kimberley and she ensured that our every need was attended to each day. Always available, she helped with any and everything from arranging for some excursions to a special birthday celebration for me. My husband had planned a surprise dinner on the beach and literally 5 minutes before we were to be seated, a short but heavy rainstorm blew through. The dinner set up was soaked and we had to alter our plans. Arpi, the general manager of the Coccolopa restaurant on the property bent over backwards to salvage the celebration. He was amazing! And the food was delicious. In addition, my youngest daughter’s birthday also fell during our travel week and so there were surprise plans for her with the most amazingly decorated cake and cookies waiting for us upon our return from dinner. Hats off to the pastry chefs! Every day began with a bountiful and delicious buffet breakfast. There were plenty of lounges available on the beach along with beach service for food and drink. The staff at the water activities were also very helpful and the rooms were impeccably kept and stocked by the cheerful housekeeping services. It was a wonderful vacation and we’ll be back!! Highly recommend!!

There is no question that this a spectacular hotel with phenomenal service, but at crazy prices during the holiday. The Hotel, in my opinion, is the best on the beach. It is maintained impeccably and is sleek and modern. The rooms are very nice, although, they could have made them a little larger. The greatest thing is that while our friends at the Ritz and Westin were walking up at 6:00 am to fight for beach chairs we never had an issue here. While the pool chairs fill up early we had no issues getting beach chairs at 9, 11 or even 2pm on various days. We also had cabanas on some days which is a nice but expensive option. The attendants at the beach are the nicest, most helpful attendants we have ever encountered at any hotel. Anything you needed they did for you and did it quick. We ate AVE (hotel restaurant) for breakfast and dinner and it was excellent. The breakfast is really exceptional.

There are two negatives, however, that we encountered one of which could be a positive depending upon what you're looking for in your trip. While we liked this Hotel overall better than the Ritz, the Ritz has a lively lobby bar with both bar seating and tables and restaurants close by. There is a lively atmosphere both before and after dinner if you want to have a drink and hang out with friends or family. The Kimpton has a tiny lobby bar with no real atmosphere and on the two nights we were at the Bar at Ave it was also pretty much dead with no real atmosphere. You can hear a pin drop in the lobby after dinner.

The second issue which is surprising is the lack of a very good lunch option. The kimpton is secluded on one end of the beach and unless you want to spend 40-50 dollars on the ridiculously priced taxis to go to lunch somewhere else even a mere 5 minutes away, your stuck at cocoloba the hotel beachside restaurant. We ate there once and ordered to our chairs on other days, Surprisingly the cups on the table were worn old plastic cups and the decor is drab. The food options are quite limited and uninspiring and the quality is average to below average. It is surprising that a hotel of this caliber would not have an outstanding lunch restaurant.

Overall though this is a terrific hotel with terrific service.

Our family of four spent the New Year holiday at the Kimpton Seafire. We were there for four nights and were blown away by every aspect of the property.

First off, the staff are top-notch. Every. Single. Person. we interacted with was kind and helpful. We never opened the door to the resort, because someone was always eager to open it for us.

They had decorated for the holidays, which was quite beautiful. They had a gingerbread house pop-up bar in the lobby that was actually made of gingerbread.

Each night, they had free wine and appetizers in the lounge and one evening they had a magician walking around and doing card tricks. Very impressive.

The beach itself is wonderful. I got up early each morning to grab recliners in the front row of beach chairs and watched as the staff groomed the beach to make it beautiful. The beach attendants were great in taking care of us while we were there.

I didn’t take advantage of the pool, but it’s quite pretty and my son enjoyed it. I did take two yoga classes — one on the land and one on paddle board. Both were great.

We normally ate off property, but had two meals at the beachfront restaurant and enjoyed it.

Now to the rooms: our first two nights we had a room with two queen beds and it was very nice. We had wanted a bigger suite, but they were full for the holiday. For our last two nights we upgraded to a one-bedroom suite and it was amazing. They have two raised twin beds in the living area, freeing up the space to hang out, and then a king bed for the parents. We had a huge balcony overlooking the pool and the ocean. Breathtaking.

Special shout out to Lex at the Kimpton. She took care of every whim we had while we were there and was incredibly gracious to me and my family. People like her make the Kimpton what it is.

I have NOTHING negative to say about our experience at the Kimpton and we can’t wait to return.

This time we took a 3 bedroom Residence to accommodate our adult family as a treat.

The Residence was beautiful with ocean and resort views. decorated by Restoration Hardware you were instantly transported to a world away from our City homes.

The resort itself is perfectly tended to and stands out amongst some of the more dated ‘old money’ resorts along 7 mile beach for its modern design and architecture.

The service from greeting upon arrival by your Concierge to departure with valet team is impossible to critique. This resort is not formal, the team are there if you need them and disappear if you don’t, I like that.

A nice touch was the continuing flow of water in the room and in resort. You weren’t restricted to 1 free bottle... they want you hydrated!

The beach is picture perfect and whether poolside or beachside you’ll be looked after well.

There are daily activities from Yoga to children’s face painting.

Also worth noting they LOVE dogs! In fact they have a few regulars that visit. Whilst we were there the team were eagerly awaiting arrival of one such 4 legged VIP and his owners and even had a bowl of water and a wood plaque with his name written awaiting!

We look forward to returning... after introducing the resort and island to our family I do t think we would have a choice they fell in love with Kimpton Seafire.

There are a lot of reviews here about the amazing service at the Kimpton Seafire, and I am going to add another one. Each one is very well deserved. The staff at the Kimpton go above and beyond just being friendly and helpful. Every member of the staff smiles and greets you and asks if you are enjoying your stay. I met one staff member in the elevator and he asked me and my husband if we were celebrating anything on our trip to Grand Cayman. I told him it was my birthday, and later I received a hand-written note from Calvin and a lovely birthday present from the hotel. Edna in housekeeping looked after us and was incredibly friendly, helpful and also left us handwritten notes wishing us well. My husband and I took a lesson on the Hobie Cat sailboat. Dexter, the instructor was excellent both in his teaching skill and his ability to make us feel relaxed and enjoy the new adventure. Mo set us up with chairs and towels at the beach every day. He always asked if we needed anything else and insisted on bringing us water or anything else we needed. In addition to all of this personal attention, the resort has a beautiful beach, great restaurants, and a gorgeous pool. You can take out bikes, and non-motorized water-crafts like kayaks, paddle boards and the Hobie for free. If you have points or the means to stay at this resort, it is an experience not to be missed.

Kimpton seafire has it all... from a modern design, terrific food, and a tremendous staff to its location on a quieter stretch of seven mile beach. The sand is powder soft and the water was incredibly calm - so much so that we spent nearly all of our time in the ocean, even with two small kids. We like to try new resorts in the Caribbean and usually don’t stay in the same place twice - but I’ve already booked our return trip to the Seafire!

We stayed here 2 nights as part of my birthday weekend. The staff was so warm and friendly. They went out of their way to make sure no detail was missed and you were ultimately pampered. As a guest all non-motorized water sports are free as well as bikes and daily exercise/yoga classes. They also had complimentary morning coffee/tea/hot chocolate service in the living room area of the main floor (there was a name for the room) and daily happy hour including hors d’oeuvres. The spa looked great, but never made it there. The grounds are impeccable and there’s a sidewalk/pathway that makes for nice walks if you don’t want to walk on the beach. Great location!

The Seafire was the best resort that we have stayed in to date, hands down. The entire facility is spotless, the food and everyone working there was world class We went there for our vacation and elopement ceremony of which we organized through the Kimpton. Kelly Gilllespie organized our ceremony and she did not disappoint. We were to get married on the beach, but it ended up raining in the afternoon and Kelly told us not to worry, she had the perfect place. Our ceremony ended up being even better than we imagined it ever could have been as well as our wedding dinner. Our Photographer, Rebecca Davidson (local photographer) also needs to be mentioned. She knows the resort inside and out and knows where to get all of of the best photos. They all came out spectacular and again exceeded our dreams or imagination. If you are looking for a wedding ceremony in the Grand Cayman, have it at the Seafire with Kelly and Rebecca. If you don't you will have missed out on an experience and memory of a lifetime. If you are just looking for a relaxing vacation, the Seafire is impeccable. Great value for the money spent. You will feel welcomed from the time you arrive until you depart. We will be going back, that is for sure.

Best hotel I have stayed in for a while. This hotel has outstanding service all around. Every person we interacted with was professional, helpful and seemed like they wanted you to have a good time. I had contacted the hotel prior to discuss the needs for an accessible room and they delivered in spades. Not expected but much appreciated. Hotel is open air - has a resort feel with a stunningly designed pool. Clearly no expense was spared in its construction. Lots of high end finishes in the rooms and throughout the property. Beach experience is a bit crowded for my taste but seats are reasonably spaced with umbrellas that allow for better view.
My main issue with the hotel is the piped in music that is constantly played at the pool, in the lobby and other public areas. This hotel is not alone in creating a piped in musical experience. I visited the Westin and it too has the piped in music. To me it is just annoying. It gives properties a mall like mass market feel not to mention I came to relax and not hear someone else’s idea of good music. I'd ask the hotel to please reconsider the need for constant sound. Peace and quite is a good thing.

If you stay longer than 2 days I suspect you will run out of food options as the hotel has little within walking distance. If you get a car you will be fine.

Would definitely recommend and consider returning to this hotel.

If and when any sargassum is present on 7 mile beach (rare), the Kimpton staff bring in construction equipment and clear it early every morning. In our multiple trips, it’s has only happened 2 days and it was quickly cleared each morning. Other parts of the island (east end) get sargassum much more often, but you don’t have to worry about it at the resort!
