We enjoyed our days at this Holiday Inn property. Although it is not on Seven Mill Beach, it is easily accessible to all the Grand Cayman attractions from the Esterly Tibbetts Highway. Some people may be put off that there is construction for upcoming resorts nearby, but the construction is not seen from your room. The courtyard is open and beautiful as well. One night during our stay, an awesome storm came up and we were awestruck! Grand Cayman is a beautiful but rugged place. The Blue Iguana Grill food items are good and so if you like you can dine at the resort at least one meal a day. I would like to see this area again when the surrounding properties are completed. Say hi to the chickens!

I decided to use the shuttle system that the hotel provided to go buy snacks from the local grocery store. Unfortunately, the shuttle got a flat, but they did not communicate that to me. I was left stranded at this grocery store, and when I called the hotel, all they told me was to flag down a cab, so I went to the street and tried to find a cab for 20 minutes. During this time, I was harassed by a man that would not leave me alone. I feel as though I was put in this unsafe situation due to the hotel's error. I finally called up the hotel again, and they agreed to call a cab for me. Although this was the hotel's liability, they made me pay for my own cab ride back. This situation was handled very unprofesionally and I am disappointed by the staff's lack of concern for their customers.If you want to stay at a place that has little regard for their guests, this is the place that's right for you!

OK - I'll start by saying the staff at this hotel were lovely people. Very kind. That's the best part, and there was a washer and dryer in the unit. I wish we would have known they were going through a complete renovation. We were in one of the older timeshare sections. We had a leak from the wall - had to keep calling down for more towels to mop it up. No one else was really staying there, I don't know why they couldn't have moved us to a room without a leak. It really sleeps only three though they advertise it as four. King size bed and a full size sofa bed whose mattress probably wasn't worth a damn when purchased in 1989. There were no linens for the bed and it took several calls to get some. My son slept on the loveseat and we had to make additional calls to get him a sheet and a blanket. He's 15 and can sleep anywhere, but it was really uncomfortable. We asked about a rollaway and were told they would be available on Monday. Called on Monday - then told there was a $20 a night charge for the rollaway. The TV's were horrible. We tried to watch at night, but the color was all white and my engineer husband couldn't fix it. It got to be a game - wonder who's face is who's while watching reruns of Law & Order. The Holiday Inn channel guide was completely wrong - and though they say they have movie channels, they don't. The pool is ok, but small and the beach area was just good for laying on a chair or one of the three hammocks. There was not one activity to do at the resort - no exercise class, or bingo, or anything like that. We rented a car the second day which made the trip so much better. There is a long pier out over the water, but water was rough and rocky, so there was no swimming in the ocean or snorkeling. I did see some divers get picked up by a boat. They do have a shuttle, but everything runs on Caymanian time, so you never quite know when they will be there. It was a $45.00 cab ride to the grocery store about 2 miles away and then $20 return. Rental car is essential. We ate at the restaurant twice. It's expensive, but the portions were huge. Very bland fare, but not bad. No desk to book any trips, so we just called places we found on our own. Towel service was easy, but you had to do it through the front desk instead of by the pool. Next time I would stay on 7 Mile Beach or in a VRBO. Cayman is fun, but the Grand Caymanian was not.

We regret if your accommodations did not surpass your expectations. Please know we appreciate your feedback as it gives us the opportunity to evaluate and make any improvements necessary and we are happy to let you know that renovations will continue this Summer which will include room renovations at the Grand Caymanian Resort. We have passed on your concerns regarding the television to the necessary departments. As it relates to activities, we do have a tennis court on property and we have since added a few outdoor games to the resort, i.e, a chess board, corn hole, and bocce. Also, our front desk serves as concierge and would be more than happy to book any excursions for you should you return to the resort. Again, we sincerely apologize that we were not able to meet your expectations and we hope that one day you will reconsider giving our property another try in the future so that you can enjoy the improvements we will do this year.

Enjoyed staying at this resort. The beach wasn't all that great but you had a very nice pool and the restaurant was sufficient. It is quite a distance from other restaurants, so if you want to venture out and about you have to take the shuttle van.
