My husband and I live on St John and wanted a mini vacation. We picked the perfect place to stay. The location is central and can’t be beat. The unit was spotless. I was shocked at how large it was. We got up the next morning and enjoyed breakfast in the full kitchen. The check in was easy. It was quiet and everything you could want in a room. We will definitely stay here again.
We are just back from our vacation and are so happy we chose to stay at the Virgin Gorda Village (still known by most people as the Olde Yard Village). Do not make the mistake as we did of googling this place and thinking it is way out in the middle of the mountains, it is close in to town and only a very short drive from the airport and rstaurants. You can find it easily if you look at the Village Cafe location as well. We were able to take advantage of a package that included 2 days rental of a small jeep. We just added a couple more days on our own. From our first contact with Leticia (you can email to info@virgingordavillage.com), she was patient with all our questions and needs. We had requested an above floor unit, and by the time we arrived on island, we were able to receive an upgrade to a higher floor/bigger unit due to a cancellation. Since we were not picking up our car until the day after we arrived, she even was sweet enough to meet us at the airport. The hotel itself has a restaurant on site (where we ate dinner the fist night and breakfast most mornings), a swimming pool, exercise room, and laundry room. There is also a minispa for massages and hairdresser, too (we saw the sign but didn't go by there). Our unit was in the fourth building on the top (third) floor. There are stairs so bear that in mind. If you have problems walking, you will want to be on the first floor. Each unit, by the way, has it's own assigned parking place. The ocean view from the balcony was lovely and there was a nice breeze at night if you wanted to sit outside. The unit was huge. A nice size living room open to a dining room and full kitchen. There was a flat screen tv (with cable) in the living room. A full size dining room table and chairs. A modern kitchen with flat top electric stove, refrigerator with its own ice maker (yes!) and all the appliances, utensils and dishes, etc. you could need. We brought our own coffee with us to have in the room so the large coffee pot was a bonus. We didn't cook, but if you wanted to do so, you certainly could. The bedroom had a large king size bed with end tables, two chests, and a large closet full of hangers. It also had an in-room safe in the closet. The modern bathroom -- all tiled -- had a glass enclosed shower. Plenty of towels were provided as well as two beach towels. We received maid service a couple of times -- but not sure what the standard is -- but it was more than sufficient. If we needed anything we just stopped by the office (open Monday - Fridays). Everything was clean and decorated in an island/beachy style. You will want some of the wall hangings and pictures.....The air-conditioning units worked fantastically, controlled by a remote, but you could also have the A/C off and just have the ceiling fans on as well. The people are friendly -- even the other guests. The service is wonderful. The stay was a delight. Would we come here again? You bet. In a heartbeat!…
My flight was comfortable, I slept all the way. My trip was extremely wonderful. Virgin Gorda is absolutely beautiful, the people are very friendly, the food is tasty and the beach is to die for. Clear blue water. I would recommend The Baths it's amazing
We have eaten here a couple of times over the past 3 years and have found the food to be great! Whether it's a lunch snack or evening meal, so far it's been good quality food/presentation & service. It's not in the main area so it sorta gets a bit missed off the radar which is a shame. The portion sizes for me are too big, I have a small appetite so we normally order a main and a couple of sides which my other half and I share we find it more than enough. Although not by the beach/sea they do have a pool at the side of the bar with plenty of tables with shade and a couple of cabanas for a more private dining. I like it!
This island is beautiful. Located in the British virgin islands. The people are friendly. My husband and I visited during the holiday season. You land in St Thomas, usvi and travel by boat to this island. The beaches and restaurants are great. Please visit the baths.
This is probably my favorite island in the Virgin Islands. The great thing about staying here is that it is reasonably priced and centrally located. When we are on vacation, we like to save where we can so we can stay longer. In this condo, we were able to go to the local grocery store and make food for breakfast and lunch and then go out to dinner. This saved us time and money. The room was very comfortable and we spent time actually relaxing in the room and on the lanai. (the view was not great, but you could still see the ocean so who cares!) The only downside was, it was a little difficult to contact the manager. She was waiting for us when we arrived at the ferry, but when the air conditioner did not work in the children's room, there was no management on-site and our American phones did not work on the island. (Honestly, it was not that hot so we just "suffered" in paradise.)…
We had a wonderful 11 day vacation stay on Virgin Gorda ,an island small enough to be close to almost everything, but with a diverse variety of beaches, restaurants, sights and activities that you're never bored. We based our stay at this at this lovely condo complex (formerly Olde Yarde Village) in a bi level unit that had all the comforts of home ,plus nice pool area, beautiful garden grounds, and helpful ,friendly staff. All this is centered in the middle of the island near the ferry dock and small airport and at the base of Gorda Peak.Just a short drive to town and the best beaches.
We stayed on the island for 7 nights and loved every minute of it. The condo was conveniently located and clean, we had locals make negative comments about the Village however we found none of those comments to be true. We rented a car from a local person and we treated very well! We also ate at several local restaurants recommended to us. Coco Maya was a real gem! A must try. The owner of Chez Bamboo was wonderful as well as her other restaurant Bath and Turtle loved Marcus her manager. The piano bar was a great way to end our last night on the island. Favorite beach was Savanagh Bay.
This is a great place for families or couples. He condos are really nice and it is great to save money and cook . Place needs a bit if touching up but very nice. He pool was great . Close to beaches and town.
We stayed in a clean and very comfortable three bedroom condo with all the amenities we could need. The beds in every room at sleep number! When traveling it is so wonderful to have a choice of cooking our own meals or walking down to the pool and enjoying drinks and a good meal with no work. The fully stocked kitchen had a fancy blender for impeccable daiquiris (or morning protein shakes), coffee maker, crock pot, etc. We all lounged on the enormous shaded deck in the afternoon, ate dinner on the patio, and the family room with a pull out sofa is spacious enough that everyone in the family can hang out and watch movies or play games. They had coolers and chairs for the beach, even snorkel equipment! There was a Pack n Play for my little nephew and kids books and games for my nieces. WiFi and satellite TV make it feel like home. The staff at the pool treat you like family and make sure your glass is always filled with a painkiller while sunning by the pool. We were located close to the famous beaches, the downtown restaurants and the ferry dock. We were torn between staying at a hotel or renting a house, but this is the best of both worlds!…
