We usually stay at Four Seasons and Ritz Carlton level hotels and resorts so this was I guess a step up from that for our family. We are very glad we stayed and we certainly appreciated the extra level of service and attention although we never got fully used to having two butlers! The location is amazing - can spend hours each day on the beach with great food and beverage service. Also, the food is outstanding for a hotel. We loved the seafood and Mexican food nights and the complimentary breakfast buffet was excellent (order the cinnamon buns for the table!). Best day was the boat excursion from the resort pier to Jost Van Dyke as well as taking the boat charter from Gun Point dock to Saba Rock (although driving there at night is an experience with very hilly and curvy roads). One criticism is they need to have filtered water stations and be more environmentally friendly (although they give out glass water bottles instead of plastic).…
Just returned from an eight night stay at Rosewood little DIX Bay. Really cannot say enough great things about this resort and the staff. The renovation is gorgeous the property is more beautiful than ever. We stayed in the grand pool suite and was it ever grand. I wouldn’t change one thing about the room it was perfect. I believe this was new construction added to the property when Rosewood took over in 2017. The attention to detail and having it blend in with the original resort was outstanding. I thought the tile wall in the bathroom mimicking the original rock walls from Rockefellers “rock resort“ architecture was a very nice touch. I am including pictures of the bathroom because it is not showing on the website and it is gorgeous. The outdoor shower has the original rock style wall and you can see the interior modern take on this. The resort itself is situated on a lovely private bay with a white sand beach and ample shade for those who want it. We were blessed with gorgeous sunsets every night we stayed. The resort is just getting going after a Covid shut down so the occupancy was low while we visited. Nonetheless The resort was staffed fully with every amenity available to the few guests who were there. It is very challenging to get there due to restrictions from the BVI government, but it was so worth it. The butler feature really makes the experience special. We had a tagteam of two highly qualified service professionals, Prada and Rodney made sure that everything we needed or wanted was accommodated in the most gracious way. Highly recommend to anyone who wants a pristine relaxing place to reconnect And recharge post pandemic!…
This is by far our favorite resort. The beach, the food, the staff and the rooms are all amazing! We have been twice in two years and have booked our third trip, which is something we never did prior to our first visit at Little Dix Bay. A few activities I recommend from our past visit: 1. Turtle tagging - a turtle tagging team visits the resort periodically and it's a very interesting and fun activity. They explain everything you need to know about turtle tagging and even let the resort guests help with searching for turtles. 2. Afternoon tea (if you can manage to leave your beach chair) - great selection of teas and snacks. 3. Ice cream stand - this was setup mid-afternoon everyday on the beach. Not sure if this was something new or it just wasn't offered the previous year due to Covid, but we loved it! As for the usual: 1. Food - we found the food on the resort to be extremely good. We do usually venture off the resort one night during our stay just to see other areas of the island, but we stay at the resort for the majority of our meals. We especially enjoyed the breakfast and the Reef House restaurant. 2. Beach - the beach has fantastic snorkeling - we saw a barracuda, reef squid, sting rays and turtles on this past visit which is more than we usually see on snorkeling trips. 3. Butlers - take advantage of your butlers - they will arrange anything you need and are there to make your vacation as easy as possible. We were lucky enough to have Altamash the past two years and hope to have him again this year. 4. Rooms - we like that the rooms do not have televisions and prefer the Beachfront Cottage due to the location near the beach. We have met other guests that love the Treehouse and Pool Suites due to their larger size, but you can't go wrong with any room!…
Beautiful resort with amazing service. Hubert our butler was awesome and always available. Beautiful bay . Booked grand one bedroom suite with pool. Huge and comfortable. Only issue was no tv in the room but Hubert quickly had them bring a tv to our suite to use during our stay. Restaurants were great especially Reef House our favorite. Arlene is an amazing waitress. The chef even came out and spoke to us every night we dined there. The breakfast was awesome and all the staff super friendly. Natalia sang for us at breakfast with an angelic voice and remembered us from 2 years prior when we stayed there. Recommend highly for a beautiful romantic getaway. Only criticism is they should tv in all the rooms which they quickly resolved for us.
We visited this amazing place with our 4 year old son for 5 nights before the Christmas holiday. It was a hop skip and several jumps to get there but that’s part of the adventure and everyone was helpful and cheerful along the way. The venue is absolutely stunning - beautiful, natural, peaceful, rejuvenating. The rooms are refined elegance and everything is close and convenient. The staff were equally talented and yet understated - not in your face, but completely capable and knowledgeable in the art of providing perfect service. Swam at the beach, played in the lovely pool enjoying some of the best local drinks, indulged in the ultimate luxury at this resort - a packed lunch boat ride to a private beach, just the three of us for several hours snorkeling and eating in the Caribbean sun. And Snorkeling all around near the resort was the best we have ever done. The food was solid and we are picky. Whether at the restaurants or room service, it was all well executed and to your preference. And the dedicated butler component is the secret sauce - we had two - Altamash and Hubert - and whatever we needed they were there, something to the room, information about schedules, toys for the kiddo, booking.a Moke car onsite to drive around the island for a day- they made it all happen and made it EASY, which is the real luxury. We travel a lot and try to find good places - not always expensive but good value too - this place is amazing in every way possible and we will be back. Everyone should go here at least once. Enjoy!…
This hotel is total luxury in an understated way. It is not flashy but is high quality and extremely relaxing and somewhat addictive. The rooms are beautiful and the bathrooms gorgeous and new. Beds super comfortable and linens are divine. The beach is wonderful - calm waters and delightful thatched umbrellas with a call button for service. The butlers are amazing and really do provide a level of service that makes everything easy for the guest. They become personal assistants for your stay and they work hard and work well. They took care of any details we needed. The three restaurants provide some variety with lovely quality. The food was good and though it was not amazing, it did the trick with fresh local fish (we are from NYC and take our food and restaurants seriously). We enjoyed every meal, especially the Mexican night and the lunches. While there are a few off-property restaurants worth a visit mostly for a change of scenery, the hotel itself is the focus here. Don't miss a rum tasting, pickleball/tennis w the great instructor, and the spa treatments are excellent (changing rooms are just ok but the treatment rooms dreamy with the doors open to the sea breeze) and the spa pool is very pretty. The crowd is well dressed in a relaxed way - not a fashion show. This is a low-key, very upscale, sleepy resort - the opposite vibe of St Barth's -- restorative and delightful! …
Where do I even begin? First of all we were NOT hotel guests here, which makes this review even more special. We decided to pass on Oil Nut Bay’s beach club pass and instead purchase Rosewoods pass. We were guests at BEYC for the week. We arrived at 1030am and were immediately greeted by the beach manager who led us to the beach and our reserved lounge chairs. We were also introduced to our butler Jose. Then we were given the rundown about what came with the pass. Champagne, smoothies, tea and ice cream. We were also given a food and drink credit to use for the afternoon. Jose was a delight! If you’re there ask for him, we wanted for nothing! He thought of everything before we asked for it. The beach is lovely and very nice for wading or swimming. We were allowed to use the pool as well which we used for a short time only because we didn’t want to leave Jose and the beach was perfect. We were also given a quick tour of the grounds by GP. What a sweet and lovely human. Spa looked amazing, we had originally wanted to book a massage but they were full which is why we ended up doing the pass. We had also asked (prior to booking) for a dinner reservation so we could eat before we caught the 730 ferry back to BEYC. They open at 6 and we were worried that we wouldn’t be able to leave on time to catch our taxi at 7. No problem for these guys, they provided us with a menu before we got cleaned up to go to dinner and we were able to select our meal and have it ready at 6pm on the dot to make our taxi. They even took us over by golf cart seated and started serving us just prior to 6. It was like a symphony…everyone coming in to do their part at just the right time. What a absolute treat. We even had plenty of time to order a desert before we where whisked away by cart again to make sure we caught our taxi. We will be back and this time, as hotel guests.…
Stupendous hotel, which it better be for the price. But really, everything was absolutely perfect. The room gorgeous, views outstanding, service above and beyond and really friendly. The beach is lovely, food very good but not particularly exceptional except for breakfast which had a great buffet with local things mixed in with excellent poached eggs, fruit, etc. We did not do spa treatments but we did take advantage of the beach drops to remote locales which were amazing. I recommend going off property to dinner and for smoothies at Sips down the road, which was amazing. My only complaint is that the plunge pool in our private suite was not heated, which made it basically unusable. In a place where people go in winter, a private pool should be warm enough to soak in without shivering. …
We love Little Dix. Peaceful and pampering. We may choose to go elsewhere in the future however. The departure security employees at the Beef Island Airport were awful. Two condescending women working there on Sunday, January 15 were dictatorial and did their best to make our experience as unpleasant as they possibly could. It took six of us 20 minutes to go thru security. She handled every item in my large suitcase that I had checked. She wadded my clothes and threw them back in the bag. Not one smile or word other than ordering us around. I felt as though I was in prison. It was early. They were not busy. In fact we went through the line with no one in front of us. I think we will try another island in the future. We will miss Little Dix.
My wife and 11-year old daughter spend 2 nights here in March. Don’t get me wrong, Little Dix is a very nice property on a great beach. And maybe we were spoiled coming off 5 days on Guana Island. But the property felt a little crowded. Breakfasts were great, but the lunches and dinners we had were just ok. Overall, it was a nice stay, but didn’t quite live up to our lofty expectations.
