My wife and I and our good friends had the distinct pleasure of visiting the Sugar Mill Hotel the week of February 24th to March 2nd. After traveling the Caribbean for many years and many beautiful islands; the BVI Sugar Mill Hotel is now our favorite new destination. The Management Team of Andrea and Rupert are outstanding and make it their personal goal of insuring each and every guest enjoys the vacation of a lifetime. They go out of their way to develop and maintain smooth relationships with guests, and show awareness of, and consideration for the many requests of their clients. The resort is a very quaint and charming boutique hotel; from the great guest rooms, lovely restaurants and beautifully manicured grounds. The food is loving prepared by Chef's Bernard and Tony and is consistently outstanding ...... day in and day out! The Waitresses: Kina, Annie, Rosella, Nia and Chantel go out of their way to make sure every meal is a pleasure and build great relationships with their guests. The Bartenders: Victoria, Jason and Sandra are always ready and able to offer a great libation at lunch and especially dinner. Our Housekeeping Team of Savilla, Laura and Cavion ..... were quick to make sure all rooms and special requests were taken care of quickly, and much appreciated. Hard working Stoutt and Richard maintain the beautiful grounds and landscaping. Once in a lifetime you come across a beautiful resort like the Sugar Mill Hotel with a delightful Management Team (Andrea and Rupert) and a supporting cast who display a high energy level and work long and hard to insure their guests a great experience and memories of a lifetime. I can't wait to book our next adventure at the Sugar Mill next year and see my "new" brother Rupert! Greg

If you are searching for that special, laid-back spot in the Caribbean, no glitz, no real nightlife, just great food, fantastic, personal service and a really unique small [24 units] boutique hotel, The Sugar Mill on Tortola's north shore is the best. My wife and I have just returned from a wonderful week, hosted by owners Dennis and Mary, along with managers Rupert and Andrea. They and their whole staff are terrific people who simply cannot do enough to see that each quest is comfortable and happy. I recommend the 7-day, all-inclusive package, which includes, on top of food and beverages, a full day sailing trip and a round the island tour delivered by Dennis or Rupert. The Sugar Mill is outside of town, close enough to access by cab or rental car but far enough away for peace serenity. There is a top notch main dining room, serving the best food in the Caribbean, as well as the Tramonti Beach Bar and restaurant, serving great drinks and lighter fare. Casual, unique, personal and the best of it all...that is the Sugar Mill. By day two, I had booked our return visit. You won't find a place like this, at very, very reasonable prices, anywhere in the islands!

Well managed by a delightful husband and wife team. Full of local flavor and charm with an excellent restaurant on site. Great water views from the north coast of Tortola. Easy car access to Road Town, Nancy Cay and the west end ferries. Newly renovated since the hurricanes, everything was ship shape, clean and well cared for.

A lovely relaxed hotel, with a noticeable lack of the usually hotel formalities. Our room was good, not amazing but as we expected, and everything worked, wi-fi, air con etc. A reasonable view of the sea. Hotel managers and staff were always friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good, I particularly liked the lack of buffet! Everything was cooked to order and arrived fairly quickly. Food at the main restaurant was very good, with great cocktails served at the bar. Food at the less formal Tramonti was underwhelming, we tried it one night and that was enough – a limited menu (even more limited as they’d run out of the starter we both wanted) and pizzas were small for the price. Great setting though, with a lot of potential to improve. Location is good, and driving is relatively easy, whilst the roads look scary, people drive slowly and there is very little traffic.

Just returned from our second visit. Last went in early 2017. Everything's been beautifully rebuilt. This is a standout boutique hotel. We chose the all-inclusive for a week. The inclusive is much more than 3 full meals a day. Also included is a day trip around the island with a super lunch on one of the pristine, postcard-worthy beaches, a day trip aboard a 50 foot catamaran for snorkling and island touring, a daily stocked refrigerator and they'll pick you up and drop you off at the ferry for your arrival and departure. The on-site couple team of Andrea and Rupert do a terrific job. Nothing is missed. All of the details one would hope for are there. Additionally there's an on-site chef and we'll also single out Annie and Rosella for thanks but honestly the entire staff is a friendly and professional operation. There is no place in the world to have such a relaxing stay and recharge.
