They hotel is nice and the location is great, however there are several things they can improve. First, they charge you for everything (lost card key, towel, late checkout, etc). Second, when you ask a staff for a favor, simple stuff, they always need to ask their manager and it just feels like a drag. Third, they only clean rooms every 3 days. Lastly, their billing system is strange. They don’t give you an itemized bill and they put some changers without explanation.

Rented a car from the lobby (Thrifty Car Rental) and was charged ($192) for the worn out tire blowing in the middle of my trip. Went to spa for pedicure list online menu$45, after service was done charged $70 ask why the difference now that it was done was told the prices online not correct $70 was new price!!! Gym charge of $10/person/day is what we were told—no thank you. So anything you plan on, plan on double!!

Kelma your customer service set the tone for my family and I on our first trip out of the US. You took the initiative to help us check in to a room. You interacted with our son well when he was being exactly who he which is being a 2 yr old boy lol. This made us feel even more welcome and at ease. I Alejandro, Daffen and our son Ahmyr thank you so much for leading our way. God bless you and your family and we pray your service is recognized. We hope to see you again. Blessings on top of blessings. Words of wisdom: “Continue to love yourself and be true to who you are, which is a great person.”

I'm not sure what I expected but I think it was more. 3 couples went and we did have a really good time. I'm still on the fence about returning though. We went using our Interval Timeshare and the room we got was not as big or nice as one couple who paid full $$ for their room. Both rooms had full kitchens but hers had a nice peninsula and a larger dining table. Her living room was also about 1/2 as big as ours. The bedroom was a nice size but the window looked out to the walkway so we had to keep the drapes closed all week. We had a hard time regulating the AC but that just might be us. The layout of the resort is crazy! Up hills, across the street, down 3 flights of stairs. Definitely not ADA compliant. We were ok but I kept thinking about handicapped people and what they would encounter. The staff was friendly and the pool bars were operational so we were happy. Prices here are very good compared to other islands I've been to. We ate at Isola twice while there and we all loved it. One night inside for Italian food and fish, the other night upstairs for pizza and salads to see the sunset. Sasha, our server was a doll! We were very pleased and I recommend the restaurant highly. I think the best meal we had was at Chesterfields in Phillipsburg. The food, the wine, the sunset! Perfect! Lots of Pros and a couple of Cons so....

This was my second time in St Maarten, but first time at Simpson Bay Resort. I traveled alone. I had the best time of my life there. You have to provide your own taxi, shuttle to the resort. I used Bernard Tours. I had a private car for 35.00. My room was on the upper B side facing the ocean the pool and bar below and two other pools. The room is kinda darkly furnished but who is planning on staying in the room all day on vacation. The only down side for me was there was no tub. Shower only. I had a one bedroom apt style room with complete kitchen. The balcony was my favorite part of the room. It was really large as is the rest of the apartment. I wish I had that kitchen at home. I slept on the balcony. They have a nice comfy lounger on the back with table and chairs for dining out there. Shout out to Singh , who cared for my room. First day I got there she helped me get into my room because I was an anxiety ridden hot mess. Anja at Isola's!! What great service and the food was slamming. They have room service. Very good. Tips for travelers I wish I had known. They DO NOT ACCEPT AMERICAN EXPRESS. I had paid off the card to use on vacay and could not use it for my deposit of 250.00 you have to leave l on the room when you arrive. They took cash and I got it back when I checked out. If you need to go to the big store outside the gates or to the Peli Market, they will shuttle you to both. I wish I had known about the shuttle to the big market. It is cheaper and has everything.

My fiancé had massages with Angela at Simpson bay resort spa and still raves about her months later- he has lower back spasms. She was able to release his back tensions the first time he went for a massage, and afterwards, he was like a different person. I went to Angela for a nail spa; she gave me the best gel manicure pedicure that lasted months! She was great; professional and thorough- I would highly recommend her!

I had a Mothers Day trip myself and my adult daughter. We were blown away by the view, staff, location. We walked to everything. Our room was immaculate. We stayed in the Villas and had everything we needed. I read other reviews about music from the bars on Kim Sha beach. We shut the door and pulled the black out shades and was a non issue. Metal was our guy at the beach bar, was lovely and took great care of us. His opening line… “ladies, you can’t say you drank all day if you don’t start in the morning.” Aquamania sports is on the resort. We did two trips with them, both were great. We also included the buffet breakfast, well worth the money.

We just returned home from the island after visiting from May 14-28, 2022. This is the 15th year we have visited the resort as owners - family of 6 where my parents in their 70s are owners and my husband and I and my brother and his wife (all in our 40s) have gotten to travel together to make wonderful family memories and experience the beautiful island. The resort remains in great shape, we stay in a 3 bedroom apartment in the Marina building and you can't beat the views from the large balcony. The room has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms and is perfect for a family of adults/couples. Over the years, some of our favorite parts of the visit are seeing the same wonderful staff - Laura at the Marina pool, Ellie who is so sweet when she cleans the room, Tamika at Juliette's, Stacy and Kemisha at the beach bar, and for the last 2 years - Harry, the fantastic shuttle and taxi driver! We met Harry last year and he took us to restaurants near Simpson Bay with the resort shuttle and let us know he could take us further with his taxi service. He kept in touch via text throughout the year checking on our family to make sure we were still well. When we just visited for 2 weeks in May, I let him know in advance we were coming and he picked us up at the airport with a sign that had my name. I gave him a list of places and times throughout the weeks we wanted to go and he picked us up exactly on time every single time and just needed a 15 minute warning text to come back to get us. He is friendly and thoughtful and the prices are more than fair. You can trust Harry to be your driver for any of your island trips and if he is working at the resort and can't take you with a taxi, he has a friend Jai who will step in as another wonderful friendly driver! We hope to make it back next year for number 16!!

We had an issue on the Resort Property with a local group of teenagers on bicycles and reported it to Tayib at the front desk who handled it professionally and with utmost care for the resort guests. He handled these young men with authority and concern for the guests on the resort property. 5 Stars for Tayib B. Shore Parking can be an issue Make sure that the Resort has enough Parking for the Hotel Guests. Be ware that the Hotel workers and Casino Employees park in the Guest areas. It is supposed to be for the Hotel Guests Only

We had an amazing time! All of The staff was so nice and helpful, from the front desk to the Bartenders and everyone in between! Our favorite was Harry (our shuttle driver around simpson bay) we liked him so much we would chant his name when he pulled up! Harry even took us to the airport on his day off! That is the type of service you will never forget! Thank you to everyone at Simpson Bay for making our stay fabulous! See you sooner then later Harry.l!
