#1 of 5 B&Bs / Inns in Simpson Bay
Atrium Resort & Spa by Festiva Resorts is your getaway in paradise. The smallest island in the world to be shared by two sovereign powers (The Netherlands and France), St. Maarten provides a winning blend of Caribbean hospitality and European sophistication. Rolling hillsides, blue lagoons and breathtaking views are just a few reasons why so many visitors return every year to this island. With its half mile of natural beach and an array of nearby water sports, the Atrium is practically paradise. This quiet, beachfront resort overlooks the calm Caribbean Sea and is minutes from the glamorous nightlife and duty-free shopping of both the Dutch and French sides of the island. Adjoining the resort's pool area is a Spanish tapas bar, Picante. In addition to light and delicious fare, Picante also features a jazz club. If tranquility, luxury and a full-service staff are what you want, then Atrium is the place for you.

We stayed in a penthouse 3 BR condo the first week of May. This condo was just what we needed for 6 adults (2 parents age late 40’s and 4 adult children (ages 19-20). While I would not describe the furnishings as high end, I would definitely describe them as a nicely furnished apartment with everything we could have needed. All of the bedrooms were very large and like their own master suites with a private bathroom. The porches were huge and had fabulous views! The beds were very comfortable and the showers were large. The beach area was great and Kyle that set up the beach chairs daily was great! We enjoyed the buy one get one free happy hour drinks all day long at the bar downstairs. Pleasantly surprised with the condos. I knew the outside of the resort looked dated, but I would definitely stay again. The location was great to walk to many restaurants and we walked to the grocery several days during the week and made breakfast and lunch in the condo several days.

We were completely blown away when we opened the doors to our suite. This will be a long post. Firstly, we chose to go to St. Maarten on a whim. We originally wanted to go to Hawaii but timing was not on our side. I work for an airline and typically fly standby. Everything going to HI from the States was full and prices were astronomical. I started to think about where we could go that wouldn't break the bank and that we could comfortably fly standby and get our passport stamped. As I researched the Caribbean I remembered "the place where people get jet-blasted on the beach". The flights matched and we set our sights. Secondly, we searched for hotels and found resorts advertising for around $100/day, a third the cost of HI. I found the Atrium Beach Resort & Spa and saw that I was a Wyndam property of which I'm a member. I found a suite for 4 adults for $136/day, again a third the cost of HI. It was billed as a "1 king, 1 full bed, 2 twin beds...luxury apartment" that was the same price of a 2 queen suite. I jumped. Thirdly, we were not disappointed in the slightest. The elevator dinged and the voice said "penthouse"?...blown away! Not only did it have a FULL kitchen, 3 bedrooms with a king size bed in each and the master bedroom UPSTAIRS, 3 full baths, 4 balconies with loungers as well as outdoor dining. Oh and a Murphy bed in the living room! Lastly, the staff was so thankful, gracious, and attentive. From Sonia and Allison at the front desk to Kyle at the beach we were treated like family. We will definitely be back and recommend not just the property but the island to anyone looking for a place to vacation.

Allison the manager was SO helpful I would return just because of her amazing service. Great location and even greater staff. Clean and convenient. Beautiful bathroom, big bedroom and nice new kitchen. Seems like it would be great for families too. Thank you Allison for making my stay so memorable.

This was our first trip to the Atrium and sixth trip to the island. we had never stayed at Simpson Bay and it was great. the location was awesome. You could walk to restaurants, grocery store was around the corner, and the beach was beautiful. While you were in the middle of everything you could escape to the beach which was totally relaxing. We will go back for sure.

Our fourth trip to St. Martin and our fourth week-long stay at the Atrium. Fell in love with location on the first visit and keep coming back. Resort is nice and clean and staff were responsive to any issues that popped up. Great location with two restaurants with bars nearby and very short walk to a great beach.
