Atrium Resort & Spa by Festiva Resorts is your getaway in paradise. The smallest island in the world to be shared by two sovereign powers (The Netherlands and France), St. Maarten provides a winning blend of Caribbean hospitality and European sophistication. Rolling hillsides, blue lagoons and breathtaking views are just a few reasons why so many visitors return every year to this island. With its half mile of natural beach and an array of nearby water sports, the Atrium is practically paradise. This quiet, beachfront resort overlooks the calm Caribbean Sea and is minutes from the glamorous nightlife and duty-free shopping of both the Dutch and French sides of the island. Adjoining the resort's pool area is a Spanish tapas bar, Picante. In addition to light and delicious fare, Picante also features a jazz club. If tranquility, luxury and a full-service staff are what you want, then Atrium is the place for you.

My mother and I stayed at Atrium for 4 nights in February after returning from 10 nights in St. Bart’s. We have stayed here a few times pre and post Irma. We have no complaints. The front desk ladies are just delightful! They are very professional and helpful. Lord help them having to deal with some of the clowns that approach the front desk. These ladies have the patience of Job!!! We enjoyed a massive two bedroom condo with a beach and Billy Folly Rd. view. It was perfect for us since we dine in most nights so having the activity of the street was entertaining. By 10pm it was very quiet for the most part. Although there technically not a restaurant affiliated with the hotel on site, immediately next door and opening onto the pool is the Green Parrot and Buccaneer Beach. Immediately across the road is a store and the Market Garden is a three minute walk away. You will want for nothing in this location. The Dutch side has done a fabulous job with the clean up and rebuild in my opinion. Yes, work is ongoing but that’s a good thing! Simpson Bay Lagoon is home to only a few sunken yachts but nothing to be shocked about. Some owners have opted to walk away without removing their boats so what is the island to do? I’m sure that in a prioritized manner the vessels will be removed and I hope that infrastructure for local residents is of higher priority. The two bedroom is as comfortable as the one bedroom we booked the year prior for two weeks. The beds are incredibly comfortable. Kitchen is fully equipped. Excellent air conditioning. The safe worked great. Just follow the instructions closely and be sure to press the button on the inside of the door cover. I read a disturbing review accusing the housekeeper of theft. Who does that? I guarantee it’s the guest’s ineptitude with regard to programming the safe that stupidly prompted her to leave her belongings between the mattresses. To accuse a housekeeper of theft, jeopardizing her livelihood is pretty reprehensible. Then to moan that the hotel wouldn’t feed you or give you money! What world am I in? Personal responsibility is something that people struggle with. Much easier to point a finger and accuse. Anyway, yes pool is small but there are very few who use it and therefore it does the job. It was always clean and refreshing. We tend to arrive to the beach around noon. Never did we have an issue getting beach chairs. As a hotel guest, it’s part of the deal. There will be cruise shippers coming and going day to day but they are generally kept to the right side of the beach (if facing the water). Kim Sha beach is busy and fun. People watching is great! The main reason we book Atrium is because of the convenience. Everything you can possibly need is walking distance. We particularly enjoy a stroll and dinner at the yacht club. The front desk ladies are super friendly and always helpful. Their job is not an easy one. We thank them for always taking great care of us. So overall, my mother and I had a great holiday. We flew to our beloved St. Barts for 10 days in the middle of our trip. The weather this year was rainier and windier than usual. We were away for 16 days so we managed to catch some good sun. We are already planning our return for next year!

numerous small maintenance issues create a larger displeasure, but do not overshadow the greater experience. We have owned and been coming since 1996 starting with 1 week and now at 5 weeks. The people are great when you bring up a problem, but many could/should be handled by alert staff.

This is a very nice resort. The rooms are very well furnished and the bed was one of the most comfortable I have ever slept in. The resort is a short drive from the airport and it's near great restaurants, a couple of grocery stores, and the Red Piano Bar.
