LaVista was amazing. So peaceful and quite. Beautiful views from every room. The guests were all mature adults and the location from the airport is a quick cab ride for $15.00 US. There is a little deli with everything you would need for the week within walking distance. The staff were friendly, the cleaning staff were very attentive and checked in every day to make sure I have everything I need. The On-site restaurant was excellent with a good food selection and friendly efficient wait staff. There are two beautiful pools on the property. There is an infinity pool up on the Hill portion of the resort and another pool right on the Ocean. I happen to be there during the annual Heineken Regatta and the races took place right in front of the resort. I highly recommend this resort to anyone looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of life.

We have owned a week at La Vista since 1993. One of the best purchases as young newlyweds. We honeymooned there and have gone back every year since. The resort is safe which is a huge issue for me when I leave the USA. I can really relax when I am there. It is also very clean, the housekeeping staff is very attentive, if something isn't up to your liking it is attended to promptly. The location is awesome. We own at La Vista Beach. The views are spectacular, every unit faces the ocean. The pool deck is beautiful and we love watching the sunset from there with cocktails, it is a nightly occurence. The units are fully equipped with everything you need to make your own meals if that is what you want to do while on vacation. If going out to eat is more your preference the on location restaurant The Hideaway is top notch, great food and staff. There are a variety of close restaurants off site also. Plenty of parking, ice machines, and laundry facilities. The staff is the best and go out of their way to make your vacation perfect. 6 stars for us is why we return every year! St Martin has a lot to offer and La Vista is a gem!

This is a very nice place with wonderful people working there, a great dining area outside by the very nice pool, and a beautiful deck and views in unit #28. The service was impecible, the towels etc were top quality, nicely stocked kitchen and great water pressure in the showers. On the con side ... the resort is in layers and VERY difficult to get around for seniors. Parking was a nightmare as was the driving in St. Martin . There are no side walks and it is very dangerous to get around. On the whole I would not recommend this island for seniors, handicapped or and young families.

We have visited St Maarten many times but this was our first visit to La Vista. What a charming resort built into the hillside right next door to the Simpson Bay Resort. Our third floor unit overlooked the extensive deck and pool which is right on the beach. The staff was so thoughtful. I mentioned that we would be celebrating our anniversary the week we were there, and when we arrived, there was a beautiful gift basket delivered to our unit! In addition to the ocean pool, there is a beautiful infinity pool near the Hideaway Restaurant. They serve a wonderful breakfast and we recommend the french toast and eggs. There is even a lending library in the office. Maintenance was so helpful when we had a problem with our microwave. They had a new replacement within 15 minutes! There is a Daily Herald delivered early every morning. One thing missing was a unit dishwasher, which necessitated hand washing of utensils and dishes. The bathrooms were fine with good shower pressure. If you want an alternative experience to the bigger impersonal resorts, this is the place to stay. We can't wait to return.

The 180 degree view of the ocean was incredible. Being at the top level, from the front balcony of the condo, we could sunbathe and watch the different sizes of boat navigating.
The Vista is situated in a very quiet location, next to the Simpsons Bay.

My husband and I had a quick 4 night stay in St. Maarten and we so glad we chose La Vista. We were lucky enough to book a third floor one bedroom unit with a beautiful pen floor plan and large sliders to leave open and enjoy the fantastic view of Saba, cruise ships heading off, daily kayakers, and sailboats out on day sails. The staff is so warm and welcoming attending to your every need and answering any questions you may have. We walked to get fresh crosissants every morning at the Peli Deli and ate dinner two nights within easy walking distance. Lovely grounds, lovely staff, lovely room, a great place to stay !

La Vista is a family owned resort located in Simpson Bay, St Martin. The resort is conveniently located to dining, shopping and casinos on the Dutch side of the island. Most important, the rooms offered a dutch blue decorum with a second floor kitchen and were kept very clean. The friendly staff was accommodating and attentive to our needs. Without reservation, we would happily stay here again.

Great week at a great place on a great island. LaVista Resort was amazing. The view from our studio room was breathtaking. The infinite Pool is the icing on the cake. They would clean everyday which is unheard of at a timeshare resort. Great service and ultra friendly staff. Debbie at the bar is the best. The owner even went out of her way to accommodate a late checkout request by upgrading the people who were coming in to our room to another. Best island experience we ever had. We will come back to LaVista. We even had temporary pets with 3 resident cats on the property who would greet us on our balcony at sunrise. Make sure you have a rental car and go to the Carrefour supermarket for groceries. There are 4 on the island. Other stores have very limited selections. The restaurants shop at Carrefour supermarkets. A couple of highlights are the Rainbow Beach bar and the mountain lift ride at the tallest peak on the island. A great beach is Anse Marcel on the French side. You can travel back and forth with out custom checkpoints between the Dutch and French sides.

An amazing time, we were upgraded to a penthouse with so much space. The staff are wonderful and very helpful. This was our third time staying and cannot wait to go back again. Also with Covid the staff took every precaution to keep us safe. Every time we come and visit we find out more about the location and the surrounding area.

I cannot say enough about this resort. We stayed in #18, the Penthouse unit. It was two stories with so much room. Two bathrooms, lovely balcony looking at the ocean, and so incredibly clean. There are several stairs to get to this unit however, and a rather dangerously spiral staircase going to the lower floor. Definitely not for anyone older or disabled. The other units, I'm sure are just as nice. They service them everyday, which was surprising. Swap out towels, empty garbage and even wash the dishes. There is an onsite restaurant, which is only open for dinner Friday and Saturday. Otherwise, open for lunch and breakfast except Mondays. A lovely infinity pool which is pretty quiet most of the time and very clean. No timeshare sales pitches, which was really nice. An easy walk to stores, downtown, restaurants, the beach etc. Taxi's are easy and very safe. All in all, a great stay, would not hesitate to book here again.

Definitely kid friendly. I have seen areas where tables were set up and kids were engaged in various craft activities during the daytime. The resort itself is quiet at night, and does not have nightly entertainment except for maybe some karaoke in the palapa bar, but there are many places within walking distance that do, and taxis are always available. This boutique resort has become one of our favorites. Casual and friendly.

We rented a car. You will need one if you want to explore the island.

We indeed have one restaurant on property, but there are many others in the vicinity, some within walking distance. I promise you won't go hungry! Hope to see you this summer!

We didn't have a car the first day but decided to et one the next day just to get to dinner or do some sightseeing. The island is pretty easy to get around and the airport is about 5 to 10 minutes away depending on traffic. Cabs can get expensive if relying on them all the time. cab from airport was 12.00 . When we rented a car it was less then 200 for the rest of the week.
