We stayed for two nights and although we arrived late, the staff was very friendly and helpful. There were some minor problems, the biggest being the location of the hostel. It's outside of Philipsburg and there are no buses, so you have to walk for 15 minutes. The best thing would be to rent a car, wich is not expensive.

Nice clean rooms with the friendliest hosts. Keep in mind that this hotel is away from pretty much everything, but it's a cheap way to stay in an island where sleeping isn't cheap at all. A good option if you have a car and if you want to explore the island.

Hi All - firstly let me say this is a Hostel, not a Hotel. However, this is definitely a fantastic, affordable, clean, comfortable and very friendly Hostel, just outside of Philipsburg, St Maarten (Dutch Side). Transport - Julian (the fantastic Husband to Patricia, the manager) will pick you up from the airport for a mere US15. Julian has so many stories to tell, and is just simply a wonderful person! To get into 'town' (aka. Philipsburg centre), its about a 25min walk from the Hostel, or hail a local down for about US3, or catch a taxi into Town for about US10, or hire a scooter/4-wheeler for the day! Accomodation - Patricia is fantastic, and always willing to help out with anything when she can. The rooms are well maintained, there's air-conditioning in the rooms (or fans where required), the sheets are replaced about every 3 days (which is great for Hostels in this area!), and the beds are comfortable - especially for the price (approx US25 - US60 depending on room type). The security of the rooms are quite good too (you get your own good sized locker). Ammenities - There are kitchens within the rooms, and Patricia can cook you breakfast for a small sum. The toilets and showers are great for the value, and always kept clean. FREE WI-FI!! Relaxing - Currently there are a few upgrades going on so there are only a few areas to chill out and have a chat with fellow travellers. However, there is still enough space! Location - The Keys is not the best, highest-class location on the island, but that's understandable given the cost of staying here. They are in the midst of upgrading so next time there might be a cool view of the Salt Lake! All in all I highly recommend Vicky's Keys if you're looking for a cheap, safe, comfortable, friendly place to stay in St Maarten and don't mind if its a bit of a walk/drive to the beach.

First of all, if you are even remotely considering a stay at Vicky's Keys, stop thinking right now and do it. Trust me, you will love it. Patricia is such a kind spirit and an awesome manager. She runs a world class hostel that sets the bar so high, that I was thoroughly spoiled. She is very knowledgeable about the area and answered many of our questions. The hostel itself was very well maintained and extremely clean. In the 48 hours I was there, I made life long friends from around the world and had a fantastic time. Julian. If you are reading this, I miss you. Julian is Patricia's husband, an architect with the funniest sense of humor. He was very helpful and all the guests adored him. The hostel offers an airport pickup/dropoff service and it is very affordable. The airport was only a 20min car ride. Some people rented cars, so that is an option too. I had a lot of things planned for the short time I was there and I was able to get everywhere with no problem. Thank you Vicky's Keys for being the best hostel I have been to. A promise is a promise, and I will be back again this summer!
