A very nice and cozy hotel at great bay, facing the amazing Caribbean ocean. I’d like to highlight the kindness and joyfulness of the staff (I have emphasize Keisha). They were amazing. Loved the time I lived there. Strongly recommend. Loved spending time in my balcony overlooking the beach, the food was nice too.
Had lunch here with a group of friends. Perfect spot overlooking the beach. Excellent appetizers and entrees. Some items on the menu were not available, but there was a good variety of things to choose from. I had the burger which was cooked perfectly and was super tasty. Fries were crispy and delicious. Everyone at the table was pleased with their selections. Staff were friendly and helpful. Great hospitality. Looking forward to a return visit!
This is one of the best hotels I've ever stayed in. Please read my review carefully. Location. The hotel is located in the Philipsburg area, where you will find a lot of places to buy jewelry, sunglasses, duty-free gifts, etc. Also, you will find some restaurants and bars, but please take into consideration that most of the places close around 6-7 pm, so if you don't rent a car to move around the island, it will be difficult to find another place to eat rather than the hotel restaurant. This is an excellent location if you're looking for a nice rest vacation. Hotel. This is a non-pool place (I saw that many hotels there does not have any pool), so if you have kids, please consider this. As soon as you arrive at the hotel you will be received by a very friendly receptionist that will help you with all the doubts you have. Check-In will take no more than 5 minutes and you will be able to go to your room to rest after that long trip. The air conditioning will be on so you will feel at home after the hot weather out there. The bathroom is nice, I like a lot the shower that was in my room! If you paid extra, you will be able to have an amazing view of Philipsburg bay that is amazing at sunset. Room cleaning happens in the morning when you are taking the included breakfast, so your room will be ready when you return from that amazing meal. Parking. Parking is available for all guests at an extra cost (I think it was USD 15 per day). There are 2 parking available: the first one is located just right in front of the hotel and the second one is a few blocks away, but it's also really close. It depends on how many people are using the parking at the time you ask for a place but don't worry. We were walking at 2 am on the street and it feels safe. Restaurant. The food is amazing! I enjoyed eating breakfast every day there. At breakfast, you will have 7 options to choose from, already included in the price, and also you will have a lot of options available for your choice at extra cost, but it is worth it. We also have dinner for 1 day there and we loved the food, just expect to pay more than USD 100. Believe me when I say that this is the best restaurant on the south side of St. Maarten. Conclusion. Overall, this was a great experience, all the people working there were very friendly and helpful. This is one of the best choices to stay in the Philipsburg area!…
This Was my daughters home for 3 weeks whilst on a yachting course- Kim treated her as if she was family. I would recommend this accommodation to any person - don't even look elsewhere. It feels like home with the dogs and cats on the property and they are so friendly that my daughter wanted to adopt.
I’ve been here just for the beach club, due St. Marteen is a point the cruise ship stops, the service is excellent from Sheniqua! Most of the beach clubs have the same deal of umbrella, chair and drinks. However here you’re able to pay in card. Also they have some items that you can used like paddle board.
Enjoyed the attention, good food and service. Especially toya and rey are pro's in giving attention and interest that is missing alot these days. Great location close to the ocean. So I would recommend a visit.
This was our first trip in 2+ years; our first with our new baby; and my wife's birthday celebration, too. Unfortunately, due to a room mixup at La Playa Orient Bay (review forthcoming pending a dispute), we had to change hotels after our first night, and Naomi and the rest of the front desk staff literally saved our vacation by getting us into a spectacular full ocean view room on Day 2 of our vacation. So first things first, a *HUGE* shout out to Anissa, Davia, Latoya, John, Kelly, and Mathilda! You guys totally treated us like family; and we miss you all. Thank you for your kindness, your sincerity, your helpfulness. Our little one says hi! :) As for the hotel itself: - Vibe: 5/5. Very modern/chill Southern California vibe but without a crazy party ambience; the perfect balance of "cool" yet "relaxing" - Food: 5/5: By far the best food around SXM - Service: 5/5. Everyone from the front desk, restaurants, beach bar, and even the room cleaning team, is second to none (though room service is not provided). - Comfort/quiet: 5/5. Exceptionally quiet and comfortable rooms. The upgraded rooms are awesomely modern, but the non-upgraded rooms actually offer a few benefits like a ceiling-mounted fan so you can turn off the AC at night and leave the window open to hear the waves outside. (We experienced both rooms due to limited availability necessitating a room change.) - Beach: 3/5. It's calm and pretty, so good for families with babies in the sense that it's not rough waters; unfortunately however, the sand is full of debris including broken glass that made for an unpleasant feel. Also, frequent cruise ship passengers spike the beach crowd from several 10s of people to several 100s (or more). Fortunately, Divi Beach is just a 5-10 minute tax ride away and is one of the finest beaches on the island with no crowds, great casual food, and beach chairs/umbrellas and cabanas available ($15-$30). A huge thank you again to the entire team at Holland House. You guys rock. We'll miss you! *hugs*…
My stay was a dream. I just returned and can not believe the amazing experience I had. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by Neera at the front desk. We originally had the executive city view but when I informed her it was my birthday she immediately asked the reservation manager Diana about upgrading my room and they accommodated us to have the beach view on the executive floor for a small fee. Every single person on staff is attentive and treated my boyfriend and I with great care at every turn. If you stay here some things to keep in mind: - Philipsburg itself really accommodates the cruise ships so things here close early. It’s recommended to rent a car if you’re interested in late night spots. But also the front desk can hook you up with amazing drivers who will drop you off and pick you up. - All the rooms are great and spacious but if you want a super luxe vibe book the executive rooms on the 4th floor. Special special shout out must go to Luisanny!! She is extremely knowledgeable and helped my boyfriend make my birthday extra extra special. It was my best birthday vaca to date. She assisted my boyfriend in a huge surprise transforming the room full of balloons, chocolates and love notes that blew me away! This was our second time in SXM and the best thus far. I look forward to making this an annual stay for years to come. Thank you everyone!…
We are so happy we chose Holland House, the staff were extremely friendly and couldn’t do enough to make sure our stay was perfect , everyone from the front desk, bar, restaurant and house keeping. The location is amazing, you can walk right onto the beach to the hotels loungers and take a stroll along the boardwalk, or out the main entrance to great shopping. Food at the restaurant is amazing, so fresh and tasty and lots of choices for breakfast. The rooms are a good size with a nice balcony. The front desk were really helpful about organizing a boat trip for us, which was amazing by the way!! All in all a great hotel to enjoy all St. Maarten has to offer, we highly recommend it and can’t wait to go back.
This was the third time we've stayed at the Holland House, and it is perfect each time. It's in the perfect spot in town, and right on the perfect beach. You can walk through town, or walk the boardwalk. The staff is wonderful and friendly and very accommodating, always with a smile on their faces. Rooms are great on the beach side, the view is excellent.
