During our honeymoon in SXM we stayed 3 nights at The Paradise Peak. We had such a great time staying in this true paradise. We stayed at the L'Atelier suite, which was beautiful and very clean. We saw monkeys from our terrace and truly enjoyed the whole experience. Highly recommend!

My partner and I stayed at The Peak Paradise from November 27 until December 11, 2021, on the advice of some friends who had stayed there a few weeks earlier. We travel often but had never spent two weeks at the same hotel before, so we were a bit apprehensive about whether we would like one place for that long. We arrived shortly before sunset and Happy Hour and were offered glasses of sparkling wine while we finished the checkin process and were shown to our room. We immediately felt welcomed by our hosts Tess and Hugh. We were shown to the Sunset Room and it certainly deserves its name. The views from the terrace in front of the room were breathtaking. The room itself was spotless, tastefully decorated and comfortable. We knew instantly that we would enjoy the two week stay. Tess and Hugh were great hosts. In addition to the daily sunset Happy Hour, they served us a very tasty continental breakfast each morning with warm croissants, and other pastries, home made jams, yogurt, fruits, cheese and cold cuts. A few mornings they even experimented with some hot breakfast offerings like quiche. The food was always delicious and plentiful. The drive up to the guesthouse is on a very steep, and in many places, very rough road that is only partially paved before turning into a dirt road. We had a small Hyundai but were able to make it up the hill, albeit very slowly and carefully to avoid the pot holes. Next time we would rent a taller car with higher ground clearance but one definitely doesn’t need a 4X4 to reach the guesthouse. By the end of our stay we felt like our hosts were roommates or family. We were sad to have to leave and would definitely return, hopefully soon. Tess and Hugh both grew up on St. Maarten so had lots of great recommendations for restaurants, beaches and activities on the island, which was very helpful. We would highly recommend staying at The Peak Paradise and look forward to returning.

Situated in a very secluded area where your privacy and pampering are guaranteed. Rooms are meticulously clean and provide the necessities for one to relax. Sheets are flawless. Mattress is superb. The views are breathtaking. What is missing? The fresh croissant and baguette for breakfast? Not! It is here too. The place is run by a couple - team of great people who provide you with all you need. What's missing? You are.

We are still marinating in happy memories from our visit to The Peak Paradise. Tess and Hugh are warm and generous hosts who assisted us with our every request including restaurant suggestions, excursions details, and even a last minute catamaran booking. The hotel is small and, blissfully, removed the common path of tourists. We adored St Martin and hope to return soon.

Gorgeous spot with stunning views, high above the bustle of Saint Martin. Once we arrived, we saw no reason to leave. Tess and Hugh have put tremendous effort into restoring this gem, and the experience they provide is nothing short of exceptional. The rooms are beautiful, well appointed, and spotless. The pool area is charming. The breakfast is a relaxed, no fuss, continental style selection with a little extra - just go at your own pace. The afternoon apero is a great way to chat with other guests and enjoy the sunset before going out for dinner. We walked next door to the Hibiscus for a multi-course meal on our first night and it’s still the most memorable meal of our trip. If you don’t want to go out they have a selection of ready-made meals in the common fridge. There’s an honor bar as well! Tess and Hugh were delightful hosts, prepared to attend to their guests but not overbearing. We are already talking about a return visit.

If you are looking for a unique lodging experience on St. Martin, look no further. We absolutely loved staying at Paradise Peak. We wanted to spend a few days in a jungle/mountain area, just to have some contrast from the beach hotel experience. The view from the main house and pool area is breathtaking. I looked for lodging with a similar view and there is nothing like it on the island. Our room and bed were comfortable and stylish! Tess and Hugh go above and beyond to make your stay special and unique. They really are the perfect hosts and you can tell they really enjoy and take pride in their work.

This really is paradise. Such a wonderful place to stay, the peace, the view, the garden, the pool, the nature….and the impeccable hospitality. We loved everything about it and would return in a flash! You do need a good 4x4 to get there! The Hibiscus Restaurant is next door and is superb too.

July 2021 Bottom Line: Book. This. Spot. ASAP! The Location: -Quick drive from either airport -The last mile or so will be an adventure for most Americans but it's safe and there is an amazing vista every 100 feet! Like all the great things in life, it might not be easy, but it's worth it! -Right next to the amazing Loterie Farm and Villa Hibiscus for all of your day drinking debauchery and elevated customized tasting menu needs respectively -Take a hike from your front door to the top of the world, or at least the highest point on SXM! -You're in the middle of a gorgeous jungle at the top of a mountain with panoramic ocean views, get into it, it's truly unique and incredibly special! The Property: -Rooms were immaculate! Clean, well appointed, spa-like bathrooms (+++water pressure was perfect), and many different views to choose from. -Bed was huge and extremely comfortable, AC was kicking which was awesome in the summer heat, once it was time to unwind for the day. -The patios, terraces, lounging nooks, pool deck, hot tub area, massage deck, kitchen, and main reception area were all kept in great condition and well appointed with comfortable seating and ample space for whatever activities you'd like to engage in. -Friendly critters abound from geckos, and monkeys, to a local family of turtles who will enjoy whatever you don't finish for breakfast, and even Tess & Hugh's cat Bubs who often joins them at work. -Finally, the view, the gardens, the old world feel of the grounds in general make it feel like this place has been there forever and has always been the top tier destination it is today. There's truly no way to put into words what it feels like to be there, so take a peek at the pictures, or better yet check it out for yourself! The Vibe: It's all about relaxing! Tess & Hugh make it very easy to settle in and start relaxing as soon as you walk through the door. You're never far from your next cocktail, or a body of water to plunk yourself into. The hot tub even has a lounge chair inside of it so you can get your sun while you're in the water! The fountain, the gardens, and the local critters of all kinds add to the atmosphere, and you really have no choice but to relax. I think this is one of the great positives of the location because once you're there it's not super convenient to leave, but you never really want to anyway. Breakfast is no frills, just healthy, local, & delicious! The eggs come from their own hens, fruit was hand-picked that morning, and even the pastries are made down the street! Most Americans will find familiar flavors, but I'm their original and natural form which is just incredible... have you ever actually eaten a passion fruit right out of its rind? It's insane! The trio of local jams is a signature and you've gotta try them all...Team Mango here for sure! The Hosts: My people! Tess & Hugh are just wonderful humans, and I'm so thankful that they're the stewards of this extremely special and unique place in the world. I loved just chatting with them about the history of the place, their own lives and travels, and learning more about the island and things to do. They were extremely accommodating of every need, from booking a private massage on site (Bianca is the actual best, book her... now), to helping me remove a bee stinger after an unfortunate run in with a local critter. I even was able to send them a message while I was on a hike to the top of the mountain when I thought I took a wrong turn, turns out I did, and I'm so glad they were able to respond quickly and get me back on track, or I might never have made it out. Tess & Hugh are full of energy in a low key kind of way, and as locals who were raised in the neighborhood have a vested interest in and thirst for making sure The Paradise Peak continues to serve the LGBTQIA+ community and their allies which is rare in the Caribbean, but feels just right here in SXM. I clearly can't say enough of wonderful things about these humans and this place, so what are you waiting for?! The timing of our visit turned out to be pretty rough - just as borders were closing and travel was grinding to a halt. We had to cut our holiday short and Tess & Hugh could not have been more understanding and hospitable. It felt like we were leaving friends who would warmly welcome us back anytime. We look forward to our return!

It’s difficult to capture the beauty of this place in words. The setting, the view, and the accommodations are simply perfection. We’ve stayed here previously when it was called Villa Rainbow and were a bit nervous to experience it again under new ownership. Any doubts faded the moment we met the new owners, Tess and Hugh. Their warmth, passion, and attention to detail made our stay exceedingly memorable. There is nothing quite like enjoying a wonderful breakfast or having sunset cocktails on the expansive terrace with stunning views of the landscape and sea. While St. Martin has so much to offer in terms of beaches and sites, one can just as easily spend your days on this lovely property enjoying time by the pool. We simply cannot wait to return and are already talking about planning another stay.
