I have very mixed feelings about my stay at this resort. While the views are incredibly stunning, and perhaps even better than you see in the pictures, my issue comes more with the customer service side of this hotel. When I called to book this hotel, the gentleman working in the office informed me that there would be a free...

We could not have been more delighted with our stay at La Haut. It's beyond beautiful--the pictures do not even do this place justice. The infinity pool is like nothing I've ever experienced--literally makes you gasp when you see it. Swimming there overlooking the mountains and town and beach and ocean is about the most beautiful experience imaginable. The rooms...

This hotel's trump card is evident the minute you arrive: the view. The beautiful pictures on this site of swimming pools in the foreground and the glorious Piton peaks in the distance are not deceptive; the location is really that gorgeous. One can see the Pitons from either of the two pools and from all the rooms, which have either...

The view from the balcony was stunning. The room was nice and big, and it was convenient to have a mini-kitchen in the room. The quality of service was a bit poor, I thought. We booked for three people, but there were only stuffs for two people in the room(e.g. towels). It took a night and half-day for them to...

We had the whole 2 floors cottage #7 with kitchen. Location beats all flaws. I liked the quietness of the place and beautiful views. I liked huge balcony with hammock and small table that looked more like stool, where we had breakfast and supper enjoying the landscape. I liked full kitchen with the stove and big fridge, microwave and electrical...

This Hotel was really nice.. We stayed in Cashew 1 and the views were spectacular. This room is a bit far from the main area and so we had to do a bit of walking. but the grounds are very rustic and there is alot to see and explore. The resort provides food but it is sub par by the...

The resort is set quite high up in the hills overlooking Soufriere. From the infinity pool, there are amazing views over the town below, out into the bay and of the Pitons. We had the room "Cashew 1" which was a free upgrade based on an electrical issue in our original room when we arrived. The room was cleaned every...

We stayed in Cashew 2. The view was wonder. If you are an outdoor and nature lover, I would definitely recommend this place for you. Very quiet and relaxing. There are quite a few animals to see, from fish, turtles, to birds, donkeys, rabbits. We got to see an old cane mill being used just as in the old day. They...

While the property is very beautiful and the views are absolutely breathtaking, I was a little bit disappointed with my stay in Cashew 1, having stayed there some years before. I had extremely high hopes for this much needed weekend getaway with my friends, being that I had spoken so highly of the resort. It was very evident that the...

We stayed in Cashew 1 for 2 nights and it was quite an experience. The views are amazing....practically breathtaking, even though it was blocked by some trees we enjoyed waking up to such a wonderful picturesque view every morning. The internet service (WiFi) was a bit iffy when we just got there but then it started getting better and stronger...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
La Haut or Le Haut literally means "the height" in Patois, a French dialect that is commonly spoken by St. Lucians. La Haut sits on a hill overlooking Soufriere, one of the oldest towns in St Lucia.Part of a 52-acre former coconut and cocoa estate, the main Guest House possesses a unique history. Nearly 100 years old, the main guesthouse was originally a cocoa house used for fermenting and drying cocoa beans hand-picked on the estate. In 1995, the building was converted and refurbished into a 6-room guesthouse. The nearby cottage was a former copra house where coconuts were once processed.Although the rich aroma of cocoa beans no longer wafts through the air, at La Haut you can enjoy the perfume-scented, tropical fauna or the salty breeze that blows off the Caribbean Sea. ... more   less
