My husband and I stayed at Stonefield for 5 nights. We got the all inclusive add on, so all of our meals and drinks were included at their restaurant the Mango Tree and it was WELL worth it. The food was delicious every single time, neither of us had a single thing we didn’t like. The staff at the resort are so kind and willing to help you with basically anything. The rooms themselves are phenomenal, they all are their own private villa and pool and each has its own gorgeous view of the ocean and/or pitons. We stayed at the bottom of the hill the resort is on, so we did have to do a bit of an uphill climb each morning, but by day 5 that was no problem haha. It’s location to Soufriere was great too as it did not take long to get to our tours. We only wish we could explore the town more had Covid not been a thing. We highly recommend checking stonefield out whether you are on a vacation or honeymoon! …
What can we say...Stonefield was everything that we wanted and needed our honeymoon to be! First and foremost we want to thank Stonefield for their flexibility. We were originally supposed to travel in September, however a very active Atlantic storm season had us looking down the barrel of a full week of rain and wind, with the possibility of a hurricane. After chatting with us Stonefield allowed us to rebook any time in the next 12 months with no penalty! So we chose January and the choice was PERFECT. Stonefield is a romantic, relaxing paradise. Despite being a resort property our personal villa left us feeling completely secluded, as if we had a rainforest all to ourselves. The privacy was calming and relaxing and made just hanging around our villa a treat in itself. The villa itself was well put together, with our own "plunge" pool for floating or cooling off whenever we wanted - and the pool even had colored lights for night swimming! The hammock and porch furniture were perfect for relaxing and having a morning cup of coffee, or just taking a breather. The bed in the villa was huge and quite comfortable - and there was plenty of storage and bathroom space to make the villa complete. And the outdoor shower was so wonderful! Nothing like getting clean and taking in the tropical sun at the same time. As for the rest of the resort they have it gorgeously tucked away within the forest. There is a nice short walking path through the rainforest to the Ancient Petroglyphs that are represented in Stonefields logo. Then it is a very short distance to their on-site farm that provides all of the fruits and vegetables served at their restaurant, The Mango Tree. Personally, we loved The Mango Tree. There are breathtaking views of the Pitons and the Caribbean Sea - an absolutely wonderful place to take in a meal (and a sunset!) We booked our stay with an all-inclusive package that allowed us to eat and drink to our hearts desire the entire stay. All of the menus have a wide variety of food to choose from, allowing a little something for everybody. They also did a good job of updating certain parts of the menus throughout the week so that the options felt stale. We definitely doubled-up on some items throughout the week but that was only because they were so delicious! Finally, the excursions offered by Stonefield are definitely worthwhile! We highly recommend the Tet Paul Trail, the Sunset Cruise and taking advantage of their numerous shuttles to some of the best beaches on the island! One GREAT tip that several people at Stonefield gave us is that there are NO PRIVATE BEACHES on St. Lucia. So if you choose to spend a day at the nearby Sugar Beach or up at Anse Chastenet do NOT let their employees tell you otherwise! They can charge for their beach chairs but not the beach itself!. The only hiccup we could find with their tours was in the Sulfur Spring tour. While the tour is definitely worthwhile ( very informative and ends with a healthy mud-bath near the springs) it is billed to have "bubbling pools of lava", which is not the case. St. Lucia's volcano is a caldera, with lava only existing below the earths crust. What do you do is bubbling sulfuric mud pools. Interesting in their own right, but we were a little bummed after we thought there would be lava. We suggest a quick edit to Stonefield's on-site list just to prevent future confusion! All-in-all, a VERY minor blip on what was the perfect honeymoon. Many thanks to the Stonefield team! We'll be back as soon as possible!…
I really wanted to give this resort 5 stars. The location was ideal—stunning views of Petit Piton and the ocean, the lush rainforest setting with flowers and palms throughout the resort, the lack of loud children. The staff were generally very friendly and helpful, even setting up a snorkel/boat cruise last minute when we returned from our hike early. On our last day we had reserved beach time (48 hours in advance) for 9:30 but when we got to reception they didn’t seem to realize that we had booked. We ended up leaving at 10 and had rushed the morning for nothing. The food at the Mango Tree restaurant was delicious and the dinner menu changed every night so I ended up eating there every night. I do wish the dessert options had changed too. The breakfast that was included was good too and big enough that I never had to eat lunch. My biggest problem was the fitness center. On the website they advertise a “fully equipped” gym which is a blatant lie. There was one bike that had no way to increase resistance and one old rusty one that kind of worked. There was also a small treadmill that was a little janky but still worked. There were weights at well but I didn’t use those. The gym was open to the hot humid jungle air and had no air conditioning, so it’s a good thing that there were towels and water provided. My other problem was one of the security guards at the beach. We wanted to set up our towels a little bit away from the other tourists, which he allowed but didn’t seem too happy about. Later we walked down the beach a little ways and when we returned he told us we can’t leave his sight (which we hadn’t) and basically threatened us by saying “I’ll be keeping an eye on you.” All he had to do was say to not go beyond the rocks. After this we couldn’t even leave our towels without him coming to see where we were going. When we walked to the other end to take pictures he came and told us off again, saying some bull**** about how that part of the beach is more private and you have to pay for stuff over there. Other guests from Stonefield had been going over there for drinks and snorkels without being yelled at. So if you aren’t a gym rat who likes some freedom, I guess it would be 5 stars. …
I loved the villa and the grounds of the resort. The gardens and views of the sea and Petit Piton were amazing. The staff were very nice and accommodating and booked tours or beach time. The beach that we went to was beautiful. My only problem is that the gym/fitness center was a joke. For cardio there was an ancient treadmill that I expect will be broken soon, a broken bike, and an ancient stationary bike that was rusty and half broken. There was no air conditioning in the gym. For the price of this resort I expect better.
My husband and I cannot thank Sadia & the team enough, at Stonefield Villas. After rescheduling our honeymoon for the 3rd time, we FINALLY go to experience the beauty of St. Lucia & Stonefield Villas! We absolutely loved our room ("Orchid") with views of the Piton. The private pool was spectacular. This isn't just a dip pool...this is a true luxurious pool, all to yourself. The Mango Tree restaurant had stunning views, was relaxing and spacious, with a delicious menu. We had some great meals and cocktails. Everyone there was sure to take good care of us. We loved the tours & excursions that we were able to book, right thru the resort. Thank you SO much. Highly recommend to anyone who is looking for privacy and memorable moments, with views of the Pitons!
