2022 Travelers' Choice Best of the Best
The resort is located on 27 lush acres near the rain forest and what is now a world heritage site. It is therefore secluded yet in the heart of all of St.Lucia's natural attractions like the open volcano, botanical gardens, rain forest, waterfalls, and other fine dining to enhance your experience of the island's local flavour. It captures the famous Petit Piton and Caribbean sea. Its villas have an open air design with 4 poster beds, hammocks, private garden showers and private pools. This resort was rated the number 1 resort in Soufriere by discriminating travelers - TripAdvisor. Please note that all guests at Stonefield must be 18 and over.

We had a great time at the Stonefield Resort. We stayed with another couple in the 2-bedroom villa. We loved the location of that villa in the resort. The place was cute, comfortable, and clean. We especially liked the outdoor showers and private pool. We spent a lot of time at the restaurant. The food was excellent, and the servers were very nice. The staff was very helpful with transportation and any other information we requested. The little shop had lots of nice souvenirs, bug spray, sunscreen, and other helpful items. On the last full day of our trip, we went down to Paradise Beach which was great. We were able to rent chairs, purchase drinks/food, and put them all on our bill with the Stonefield resort. The resort also transported us to and from the beach. They made it very easy to enjoy our day at the beach. The resort is also only a short car ride from Soufriere and other tourist destinations. We would stay here again.

I would give more if I could. Nice quiet isolated resort. First rate service and amenities. Friendly staff, good food and a great view.. Nice little beach just a 3 minute shuttle ride away and a magnificent Piton view. If you are there on a Saturday be sure to go the cooking demo.

The resort was amazing, read the important points I have listed out below since most of the reviews are the same: -The resort mainly tailors to couples, we went with friends as two couples and stayed in the 2 bedroom villa (it was perfect and spacious) -Bring cash for everywhere but the resort, credit card machines go down often. -In the resort, the Mango tree and even the private beach they take you to, you can charge everything to the room. -Breakfast is included each day at the Mango Tree. This includes choices like: Eggs, meats, pancakes, fresh fruit, cereal, coffee, homemade jams and bread. Get the daily juice, it is very good. -Service is wonderful at the resort and restaurant, dinner can sometimes be very long. They are very in-tune and accommodating to dietary needs. -We arrived on a Sunday and all the stores and shops are closed due to Lent. -There is a shop next to reception that sells booze, bug spray, sun screen, water and snacks. We went to town the second day and bought a lot of groceries, but could have gotten by with less shopping. -The beach they have a shuttle to is amazing. Do not walk it, it is steep. There are chairs to rent, which are very affordable, the food was amazing and the service was good. Plenty of space to swim or take a nice walk. -The hotel will get you a cab and it costs about $12 to take to town. -We felt very safe throughout our entire time and even though tourism is big on the island, nothing felt forced. Everyone was so kind and helpful but there was never any pressure like other islands we have been to. We wanted to do a land and sea tour and used Julian's Boat tours, please read my review on them. I have never had a BETTER tour on a tropical vacation before, Well worth the money and got to do everything that you could want to over the course of a day around the island. I also wrote a review about transportation from the airport, we used Marc's transportation service and were very pleased as well. Very personable and went out of his way to make sure we had a good experience, highly responsive.

We are over the moon after our Stonefield vacation. The staff was highly accommodating and kind. We were blown away by how attentive they were to every excursion and travel plan we had. We never had any issues getting to and from the beaches and trips. This place is truly a gem and best bang for your buck in Sourfriere! Stonefield is the perfect combination of rustic and luxury. The villas were clean and the views were beautiful. We were able to relax but also add some adventure. Thank you stonefield for such a wonderful honeymoon.

My husband & I just returned after 14 days on St. Lucia of which we spent 8 days at Stonefield Celebrating our 45th Anniversary. We were greeted at the airport immediately upon our arrival by Peter who drove us to the resort. Once we arrived at the resort we were offered a local juice, checked in and given a cell phone so we could connect to the front desk etc. After a couple of days they actually called to make sure everything was going well for us. Stonefield is a well- kept resort on the quiet side of the island and near many interesting spots. The grounds are constantly being manicured, the maids kept our villa clean & well stocked. The villa has a stove, refrigerator, some pans and dishes. The plunge pool was large, the porch has a double hammock and a nice sitting area inside the villa. Malgretoute beach (3 minutes away) is accessible to the Stonefield guest and they provide a shuttle there. Paradise Hotel is right on Margretoute beach. They have chairs & a restaurant and are able to charge items to your room at Stonefield. We had the most magnificent view of the Pitons and the sunsets from our villa and the restaurant. Our first day we enjoyed a couple’s massage at the resort, a great way to relieve the stress and get in touch with island time. The following day we had a car delivered to the resort so we could explore the rest of the island. On the east side we did a zip line, Soufriere we hiked the Tet Paul trail and enjoyed a double rainbow at the top. We also went deep sea fishing with Mystic Man and their sunset cruise. All of this is easily done from and through Stonefield. Later in the week we had Peter drive us to the volcano and waterfalls. He was a wealth of information and really enjoyed all the local history he was able to tell us about. We could have driven but choose to hire Peter for the history. Our intentions were to visit off site restaurants for dinner but after our first dinner at ”Mango Tree” we were hooked. The waiters, waitress, Bartenders & chefs were great! The service was fantastic and the food delicious. They asked at each meal whether we had allergies and after breakfast asked if you would like maid service, always making sure we were being taken care of! The menu changes daily and some evenings there was live music. The day we had an early morning fishing trip they put together some items that we could take along. We would personally like to “Thank” the Entire Staff ( I would list all the name but wouldn’t want to exclude someone should I forget) for making our 45th Celebration a memory we will never forget. Everyone went above & beyond and we can truly call each of you “Our Friends”

We have just completed our stay at Stonefield and we were incredibly happy with every aspect of our stay. The rooms were lovely, very private, and the views were spectacular of the ocean and the Petit Piton. The staff was fantastic - friendly from the moment we were picked up at the airport and every single person we encountered was kind. The grounds are beautiful and well-kept. Sachin at the front desk greeted us with welcome drinks and gave us an overview of the property and a tour to our villla and of the room with detailed instructions and information. He was very patient and knowledgeable with any questions we had. The room was clean and our fridge had water, soft drinks, piton beer. Coffee maker and tea pot. The air conditioner worked well and the “Ocean View” room had an unobstructed view of the ocean and the Petit Piton. The pool was clean. The entire resort was very quiet and relaxing. Housekeeping is offered every day and they did a wonderful job. We set up excursions through Stonefield prior to our stay via email and they were all on time and well organized. We did all inclusive. It was definitely worth it and we had no regrets at all. The Mango Tree restaurant was fantastic. The dinner menu rotates daily and has a nice variety. Breakfast and lunch menu stays the same but also has such a great variety with many options. Everything was fresh, flavorful, local. We absolutely loved it. The drinks were delicious and had many options as well. Thank you to chef Claire for the delicious food! Restaurant staff - in particular Gibson, Ancia, Jenny, Brad, and Onan - went above and beyond to be kind and were excellent servers/hosts/bartenders. They were kind enough to let us order a couple of meals earlier in the day to accommodate our excursion and departing flight time. Thank you so much to all! We highly recommend Stonefield and will be telling our friends about it as well. Thank you for the lovely stay!

After reading all the good reviews I was really surprised about this property. Upon arrival we were greeted by a woman at the front desk no warm smile just give me your passport info then she told us the room was not ready we were walked to the restaurant and received the same cold treatment there. After waiting half an hour I asked if we could be served and the lady didn’t respond at all and ignored me, then after a few minutes looked up as I was still standing there and said I will be with you in a moment with what seemed like attitude. I found out later this wasn't intentional as she was like this with all guests but she should probably be trained to be friendly. The food was actually good so that is a plus. We finally got our room after an hour or more, our room had old furniture and would speak in the night with creeks and cracks. The view was spectacular and that is basically all you are paying for when you get a room at this property. The bathrooms were not clean faucets had limescale or calcium buildup. I only showered twice while I was there and did not have hot water for one of the showers. The showers are outdoor and because of that there are mosquitos that find their way in to the rooms. The rooms have AC but the main area where the kitchen and dining room are do not. We saw a few dead cockroaches during our stay as well. When we were ready to check out we asked for late checkout since it was only fair as our room was given to us very late. Sachin the boy at the front desk said we could not have it as there was an early check in at 1pm. This was a bold face lie because the next day a lady from front desk called to say we could get late check out. There is no consistency in the hotel policies here and we were very unhappy the boy at the front desk lied to us. All in all I hope this property puts more effort into training staff on how to handle guests and clean rooms. The property is beautiful and provides an amazing view and good food but the service is terrible and rooms are old and dingy and not clean enough to be a 4-5 star. I would not return.

Thank you for your feedback. We take any negative feedback very seriously as this is not reflective of the product we work to deliver. It is however highly unlikely that our staff would lie about a late check out availability. In hospitality, arrival times of guests frequently change, which would have opened your villa up for a late check out despite it not being available the night before. Our villas are architecturally designed with the tropics and our views in mind. Our one bedroom ocean view villas are FULLY air conditioned, however, our larger two, three and five bedroom villas have AC in all bedrooms only. We are clear about this online. This is very common in the Caribbean. All bathroom shower areas have doors as well. This review will be used as an asset for our operations team to assess the areas that you referenced. Thanks again for the feedback.

My wife and I stayed one week at Stonefield and loved every minute. The villas are well-maintained with incredible views. I would recommend getting one with a Piton and ocean view. It is one of the best vistas of any place I have ever stayed and I have traveled all over the world and stayed in many first-class resorts. The hotel is very environmentally friendly, and the spacious villas come with a wonderful outdoor shower with water that is solar heated. YouTube videos can provide a much better description than I can here. The grounds are beautiful, and you must schedule a walk to the petroglyphs with Poncho who is in charge of the grounds and is also incredibly knowledgeable about sustainable agriculture and history. He was one of the highlights of our trip. You can see the incredible garden that he and his team maintain that provides fresh organic food to the onsite Mango Tree Restaurant. Mango Tree Restaurant's food is delicious and the staff there are very attentive and friendly. I recommend getting the All-Inclusive Package for all of your delicious meals and most drinks. The menu changes throughout the week. It would cost you more to eat away from the resort because most restaurants are at other resorts that you would have to drive to or take a taxi and those meals would be more expensive. The front desk staff were very welcoming and helped us arrange excursions that are reasonably priced. We enjoyed the Tet Paul Trail guided excursion that provides and awesome high-altitude view of both Pitons. The snorkeling trip with Clyde and Sean who was great. We went to two different beautiful spots. Hike one of the Pitons if you are in great shape and in no way afraid of heights with almost vertical climbs on the Petit Piton. The road to and from the airport (UVF) is very curvy and the drivers tend to take them fast so if you are prone to motion sickness, pack some Dramamine.
