We booked the Ultimate Peak to Beach package which allowed us to split our time between Ladera and Cap Maison. We stayed in Paradise Ridge #2 and it is beyond anything you can imagine even from the pictures posted. The views are amazing and ever changing as the light of the day changes. We were a bit nervous about the open wall but had no issues at all with any creature sightings. We had massages in our room and it is an experience worth booking! The concierge helped us book the Sulphur Springs excursion which included the mud baths, waterfall, and botanical garden. We enjoyed seeing all 3. The staff is really what makes the resort. Leah at Dasheene made every night amazing! She even decorated a special corner table with fresh flowers and candles for our Anniversary. The hotel grounds are awesome and their nature hike gives you a platform with an incredible view of the Pitons. Make sure you find it when you're there! The only "complaint" I had about our stay was the constant signing of our receipts. Whether it was just a cocktail or a full meal, we booked the "top of the line" package they offer which was all inclusive so it was a bit cumbersome to do at every turn. With everything included and the staff asking your room number for every order I feel like this process could be more seamlessly handled.…
10/10 MUST GO! We visited in October on our honeymoon and stayed at Ladera for 4 nights before traveling to another resort north on the island. The pictures do not do justice to the beauty of this place. The staff is amazing and there are unbelievable views everywhere you go. Waking up every morning we could not believe it was real. We did multiple excursions from Ladera. The staff set everything up and assisted with transportation making everything very easy. A visit to the beach is also a must! You have a beautiful view at the bottom of on of the Pitons. The views don’t stop in your room. There is a nature trail on property with a vista point and activated along the way. Meals were amazing and the views continue in the restaurant. We will be recommending Ladera to all of our family and friends. If you plan on visiting St. Lucia DO NOT MISS OUT on staying here even if for only a few nights. The south of the island is the most magical place.…
We visited Ladera to celebrate our anniversary and were spoiled from the moment we arrived. The architecture is charming and full of island character, but it's hard to even notice the beautiful rooms with the insanely gorgeous view of the ocean and pitons right in front of you (especially when enjoying from your private plunge pool). The front desk staff was fantastic and very helpful, the restaurant staff was wonderful and the food was delicious. This was the perfect place for a romantic get away. The location is great for accessing many of the wonderful activities on the island, as well as other restaurants for a change of scenery (but we still thought Dasheen had the best food and wine list). With the 3 wall suite, I was slightly concerned that bugs or noise would be a concern, but had no issues with bugs and the waterfall on our pool ensured we didn't hear a peep from any other guests. 100% recommend.…
I could not get over our room and view at Ladera! I am convinced it's the best one on the island. Right in between the pitons, high up in the private jungle. We upgraded our room to the Hilltop Dream Suit and it was worth every penny! I could not wait to get back to our room to dip into the plunge pool every day! Every day, I would wake up, and look up and could not believe the view I would wake up to! The hotel room only has 3 walls, so the one side of the room is completely open to the jungle, waters and pitons! I would totally stay at Ladera again if I were to go back to St. Lucia. The staff was all so very nice. The food was great, although the Chocolate Project restaurant across the street was amazing, and was completely walking distance! The service and organization of the hotel was perfect! Definitely recommend it!…
My wife and I celebrated our honeymoon in St. Lucia with the Classic Peak to Beach package to divide our stay between the Ladera Resort and Cap Maison properties. We were greeted at Ladera with peppermint scented towels and a delectable ginger punch before being escorted to our suite. Upon entering our suite, we were greeted with an expansive overlook from our private heated pool to see both the Gros and Petite Pitons nestled between our view. The view was just as in the pictures if not better! It’s one thing to see pictures though; it’s another to see it yourself. Our quarters were split between a living and dining downstairs area and an upstairs bedroom loft. The constant breeze and the fans kept us refreshed and cool. A mosquito net surrounded our four-posted bed, and the resort provides bug spray, aloe spray, and insecticide. We also typically had lights off with the setting of the sun to reduce any encounters we had with bugs. We both enjoy camping, hiking, and backpacking, and our resort offered opportunities to have some of those same feelings while being able to enjoy the luxuries offered. We spent a lot of time in our room in our private pool, but we also took advantage of the hot tubs and the infinity pool open to all guests. The property offers an array of activities including a short series of nature trails with scenic overlooks, a five-story treehouse lounge, and an expansive assortment of handcrafted exercise equipment and games (in addition to a more traditional fitness center and board/tabletop game room). There’s also sunrise meditation, yoga, and pilates offered, but my wife and I did not partake in those activities. Our reservation package came with an all inclusive meal plan, so my wife and I could, at our leisure, order room service or eat at the on-property restaurant. The concierge at Ladera is an absolute jewel. She patiently worked with us to select and plan expeditions. My wife and I are relatively adventurous and fond of experiencing local culture and nature, so we booked a tour of Soufriere, Sulphur Springs (with mud bath), and the botanical gardens (with mineral bath and waterfalls); a hike up Gros Piton from the Fond Gens Libre; a zip line course, and the 9-mile rainforest tour: ERA Secrets of the South Adventure. Each expedition is highly recommended by us. The sights from Gros Piton are well worth the hike, and the rainforest tour was absolutely amazing! The entire staff at Ladera is friendly and accommodating. My wife and I were not on premises long before everyone called to us by name and asked after our expeditions. We had a real sense of familiarity and genuine closeness with everyone, and we could tell that the staff prided themselves on this. The general manager and his wife also followed up with us and inquired as to our thoughts with an honest sense of concern and an endeavor to use guest feedback to tailor and improve the Ladera experience. The Ladera Resort facilities and staff ensured my wife and I had an unforgettable honeymoon! We can’t think of a way that we could have experienced St. Lucia better than through Ladera and the expeditions!…
So to start with, Ladera was able to work with us to push our honeymoon stay out one day when our flight was delayed. Their flexibility and ability to accommodate our changed schedule was super appreciated! We were very glad to arrive, and were greeted with professionalism and kindness. The view of the Pitons out of our heritage suite room was beautiful!! We thoroughly enjoyed our heated, private pool as well. We did find it helpful to spray the provided insecticide around and under the bed each day, and then we also sprayed ourselves with the provided bug spray each night before bed. The views out of the 3 wall room, though, made these efforts worth it. The staff was very personable; they made an effort to know our names, greet us, and even remembered which expeditions we were getting back from. Ladera is located close to the Pitons and Soufriere (most of our taxis were about a 20 minute drive, which was awesome), so we got to do a lot of expeditions (which we found to be very reasonably priced) and didn’t have to spend a lot of time driving; we did the Soufriere experience, the Ziplining, hiked Gros Piton, and did the 9 mile rappelling tour that ERA secrets of the south lead. (We had fun with all of these, but HIGHLY recommend the rappelling. Literally the most fun ever!!!) The concierge was very accommodating and was excellent in getting all of our tours booked. When you get to Ladera, go visit the concierge like first thing; it was there that we learned about other expeditions that we hadn’t seen on the website. We never did go down to the beach during our Ladera stay, but we did the Classic Peak to Beach package that they offer so after Ladera we spent time at Cap Maison and did beach stuff there. The staff were all wonderful and went out of their way to make the experience unforgettable. We ended up eating almost all of our meals in our room, and food was delivered on time and was pretty good. Room service was quick and responsive as well. The hot tubs and outdoor workout station are super cute and we enjoyed spending time in the hammocks and treehouse as well. The couples massage was very relaxing, as well. The nature hike on the property leads to a beautiful overlook; definitely worth doing that if you’ve got a half hour free. :) Overall this was an excellent experience and I would definitely recommend it. Thank you, Ladera, for a wonderful honeymoon!…
My husband and I stayed at Ladera for a week for our honeymoon. From the second we arrived at the resort to the second we left, we were showered with excellent service, a bottle of champagne with a fresh local fruit platter, a clear client-oriented mentality, impressively extensive hygiene protocols (especially during COVID), and endless opportunities to dive into Saint Lucia’s natural beauty. Everywhere around you, there is locally handcrafted terracotta and mosaic flooring, luxury hand-carved wood features throughout the resort, tropical foliage, friendly island creature faces, and staff who treat you with the utmost respect and compassion. We hired the resort wood carving artist, B. Modeste, who took the time out of his busy day to create a piece of custom artwork for honeymoon memorabilia; it was so beautiful it brought tears to our eyes. Additionally, the service at Dasheen—the world class farm-to-table restaurant—was impeccable and consistently the best flavor of Saint Lucian food (we compared it to the other five star resort restaurants around, and Dasheen was a clear winner). Even breakfast was served in multiple courses with a variety of condiments and coffees/teas/juices du jour. One of our favorite experiences was exploring all of the hidden gems and nooks and crannies of Ladera. At every corner, there are semi-private amenities such as a hot tub room, game room, reading nooks, poolside seating, and zen gardens. Some of our favorite features were the various nature trails which contained unobstructed Piton views, endless fruit trees lining the paths, a giant 5 story treehouse built on a Mango tree, and an outdoor “Flintstone” gym with yard games and dumbbells created from tropical wood. And then there are the private, gorgeous rooms. Huge 800+ sq ft rooms with the fourth wall open to the elements and a canopy over the large king/queen bed. We had a spacious heated plunge pool with arguably one of the best views of the pitons in Saint Lucia! The room also featured a large mosaic tiled walk in shower with rainfall shower head, walk in closet, fridge, two sitting areas, and beach lounge chairs for tanning. Several times a day, the cleaning staff would refresh drinks and ice, make beds, deep clean the room, fold the clothes on the ground, light insect repellent incense at night, and drop off fresh baked goods on the bed (different baked good every night). We could go on and on about our fantastic experience, and we will definitely be back! Thank you for making our honeymoon beyond our wildest dreams, Ladera staff.…
The best views you will ever see! Friendliest staff, great food, all around amazing!! We went on our honeymoon and are already looking forward to our anniversary trip back! Every single staff member was so king and friendly and nothing beats waking up to those spectacular views! Special shoutout to Leah who was the best!!
My husband and I visited Ladera as part of their “Peak to Beach” package for our 10 year wedding anniversary and we were blown away by the room and service. We stayed in the Heritage suite for all 3 nights we were there. The room is huge (2 stories!) with a large pool and great sitting area. The 3 walled design is unlike any place we’ve stayed and it was amazing. I couldn’t get over how cool it was to have our own private pool with the most incredible view. You might wonder, with only 3 walls can you hear your neighbors? We never heard anyone around us. The bugs aren’t too bad. They burn mosquito coils for you every night and provide complimentary DEET free bug spray. I suggest bringing an anti-itch cream to treat any bites you might get. The grounds of the hotel were spectacular- hand carved wood structures all around, beautiful flowers, many fruit trees, and soothing ponds. Definitely hike the trail on property to check out the tree house, outdoor gym, and even more incredible views of the pitons and coastline. The bugs/frogs and even rain at night can be very loud but the hotel provides complimentary ear plugs, and it was kind of like a real life sound machine so we had zero issues with sleep! The food at Dashenee is good with nice variety, but after eating at The Cliff at Cap Maison I have to say it paled in comparison. Overall, this resort has everything you need for an amazing and unforgettable vacation.…
My wife and I stayed at Ladera to celebrate our 10 year anniversary for 5 nights. It was AMAZING! We started off in the Petite Le Fleur room since we were a bit nervous about the bugs. That room was great—nice and large, air conditioned and amazing views. It was at the top of the hill so it did get pretty windy/loud at times, just be aware of that. There are also random downpours of rain without much notice, and that can be pretty loud regardless of the room you are in. Just be prepared with an umbrella when you go walking (provided by the hotel). This room is also at the top of a hill so walking takes some effort, but the staff is more than happy to drive you up and down to the room any time in the golf carts. A nice touch was that the rooms are equipped with US outlets so no need to bring adapters if you are from the US. For our last 2 nights we stayed in a Paradise Ridge suite which was even better! Sweeping views of the Pitons and ocean, a very large living space and private pool. This room was open-air but we didn’t have any bug problems. The mosquito net on the bed worked well. In terms of the highlights of our trip, I would call out the entire staff. They ALL went above and beyond to check in on our experience, ask us if we need anything, and make sure it happens. When you check in you receive a cell phone with access to a dedicated butler for anything you need—room service, a ride, taxi service, you name it. I’ll say it again—the level of service provided here is the top perk. A tip—bring lots of small bills for cash tips. The food at Dasheene was really great, good variety, and drinks were great too! Service can be a bit slower than what you may be used to, but that’s ok, it’s vacation! We did a wine/cheese tasting with Jeremy that was really fun—we learned that we liked Prosecco and bleu cheese together, which seemed like such a strange pairing at the time. The hotel itself is designed to fit in with the local culture. There are wood carvings everywhere and beautiful plants/gardens that we were in awe of. It was beautiful. The resort also has a very nice hot tub area that isn’t advertised, as well as a game room with TV, pool table, games etc. We definitely used the hot tub several times and were very happy with it—nobody else was there. Do the nature trail if you can so you can see the treehouse and outdoor gym—they are so creative and it’s a nice little hike to get some exercise. You are rewarded with some nice views at the top! We also visited Sugar Beach and Paradise Beach. Sugar Beach is quite nice, part of the Viceroy hotel, but everything costs extra $$ (it also has nice white sand!). Paradise beach was just ok, kind of hard to enjoy it after we went to Sugar Beach. Last tip! Get an in-room massage. We did a couple’s massage and it was fantastic. The spa itself is under construction as of June 2022 so must services are unavailable. We had such an amazing time at Ladera and we plan to tell all our friends/family about it!…
