About
Description
Ladera is the pioneer of the open air three-walled concept in St. Lucia and has since been distinguished by a wide range of international publications, awards and accolades from Conde Nast Traveler, Travel + More Leisure, Forbes Life Caribbean Travel and Life, Brides Magazine and countless others. Ladera was once part of Rabot Estate, one of Soufriere's oldest plantations, which still borders the resort. In the late 1960's a parcel of land was sold and developed into a small cluster of condominiums and christened Dasheene, named after the thousands of large, glossy-leafed dasheen plants (also known as elephant ears) harvested on the site. In 1982 it was transformed into a unique resort and changed hands a number of times before emerging as Ladera under the current private ownership. The mission has always been to offer an unparalleled guest experience that is quintessentially Saint Lucian, one that embraces the magnificent views and offers harmony with the surrounding natural beauty and rich bounty of the island. Today, that commitment to sumptuous authenticity is evident in everything from the innovative renderings of fresh local dishes at Dasheene restaurant, to the use of Caribbean timbers, stone and tile work used in the guestrooms and public areas. Yet it shines through most effectively with warm and welcoming Saint Lucian staff. Less

Some of my friends have asked how my hubby and I liked our two nights of “glamping” on Saint Lucia...in my opinion, they are missing half of what this resort is all about.

My hubby and I stayed in Paradise Ridge #3 for two nights to celebrate our wedding anniversary. It was a P

The resort has breath taking views!! We stayed in the hill top suite, pictured below. If we did not have the view of the hilltop suites (I was told by other guests not all rooms did) I would NOT spend the money to stay here. The suite came with a heated pool, which was amazing,

Hello. I've been reading up on crime in St. Lucia in advance of my upcoming trip. Does the "three wall" concept at this resort open up all rooms to anyone that happens to walk by? Is the missing wall area easily accessed from the outside? Does the resort have security?
The open wall is on the mountain side overlooking the ocean and the resort is gated. My husband and I felt very safe the whole time!

Hi, I am visiting St Lucia via cruise ship. I would like to visit the report for the view and having lunch there. Is it allowed?
Yes, definitely. Even if you don’t stay at the resort, you can certainly go for lunch or dinner. And the view is totally worth it. You won’t regret it.

The activities listed on the website is primarily things to do off resort at an extra cost. What activities are available at the resort? Tennis? What other activities?
The point of coming to this resort is to relax I think there is definitely a calm and serene feel to it. Also, romantic as there are a lot couples who stay here. I don’t know about you, but the food and resort pool and the amazing view is all you’ll need. We had a plunge pool in our 2 story room which was ah-mazing. We did the excursion to the waterfall, botanic garden, volcano etc. It was ok except the volcano was cool we did the mud bath which was def. different. if you want to save some money though just go to sugar beach with the free shuttle. It’s a great beach for relaxing. They also do excursion there you will definitely be approached by the guys selling them. You won’t regret going there!

What kind of tours can we do from leadera resort
There are no tours directly from the property, but they can arrange anything and everything on the island - some are a 5-15 minutes drive - sulfur springs, snorkeling, etc while others are a little further away. zip lining, hiking, buggy tours, plantation tours, etc The staff will take good care of you and make sure you are with the best tour guides around
