Ladera is absolutely stunning. I've traveled quite a bit and there's nothing else like it. Waking up every day between the Pitons in our 3-sided room, jumping into our personal pool, showering looking down on the Caribbean, and falling to sleep with the amazing rain forest "breeze". What an experience. A true romantic experience and one that my wife and I will never forget. Everything about the resort is top notch. The food at Dasheene is first class and Chef Nigel would come around every night to make sure everyone was enjoying their meal. We did wine and food pairing another night and it was divine. Nielbert (sommelier and restaurant manager) guided us through some wonderful pairings and it is an experience not to be missed. Caroline was fantastic helping us book all our excursions even as we changed them minute to minute. And of course there is the one and only Vianney. Heart of gold and led us on our Fish Fry excursion (which is a must) and highlight of our trip. He went above and beyond and will always be a wonderful part of our trip to St. Lucia. If you're looking for a truly amazing, romantic, wonderful experience, then Ladera should be at the top of your list. Hands down a trip that will never be duplicated.…
10/10 MUST GO! We visited in October on our honeymoon and stayed at Ladera for 4 nights before traveling to another resort north on the island. The pictures do not do justice to the beauty of this place. The staff is amazing and there are unbelievable views everywhere you go. Waking up every morning we could not believe it was real. We did multiple excursions from Ladera. The staff set everything up and assisted with transportation making everything very easy. A visit to the beach is also a must! You have a beautiful view at the bottom of on of the Pitons. The views don’t stop in your room. There is a nature trail on property with a vista point and activated along the way. Meals were amazing and the views continue in the restaurant. We will be recommending Ladera to all of our family and friends. If you plan on visiting St. Lucia DO NOT MISS OUT on staying here even if for only a few nights. The south of the island is the most magical place.…
A beautiful hotel nestled between the Pitons. Perfection! Where do I start? Your stay starts with the best welcome we have ever had in a hotel. A lovely greeting from Tanisha, a delicious Ladera Rum Punch, a refreshing cold peppermint towel after a long journey followed by a tour of the resort which ends up in your room. I guarantee the view of the Pitons from your room will take your breath away. We had one of the Hilltop Dream suites which had a two seater swing seat over a private heated pool and an open shower decorated in mosaic tiles. The room is completely open planned (except for the toilet) and your bed looks directly out onto the glorious view of the mountains and the ocean. It is a view you will never get tired of and one you’ll certainly never forget. The gym is excellent and offers a number of classes. There are also TRX straps available in the gym which I really appreciated. There are yoga, meditation and fitness classes you can sign up for throughout the week and don’t miss out on the opportunity for sunrise yoga. There is also a trail on site which takes you to a multi-storied tree-house, an outdoor gym made of wood (you have to see it to believe it!) culminating in an exquisite vista of the Petit Piton from a viewing platform. There are numerous excursions you can explore which I’d encourage you to book via the hotel to make your life easy. All transportation and guides are arranged. Although the hotel isn’t by a beach, there is a beach that you can travel to via a free hotel shuttle and it has some of the best snorkelling on the island. One of the snorkelling tours even visited the beach! You can also get a taxi to other beaches which can be arranged easily through the hotel. The food is excellent, with the breakfasts (try the Creole Breakfast!) and lunch (the jerk fish wrap is a must!). However what makes this trip so memorable is the people who work there. Everyone wants to say hello to you and ask you about your day. As Cynthia said, we want you to feel like family. The whole team really went out of their way to make sure our trip was as good as possible, in particular we would like to say thank you to Cynthia, Lee, Isha, Tanisha and Tenderly, as well as Ladera’s No. 1 Spurs fan whose name we didn’t catch but who made us smile every day. Thank you for the holiday of a lifetime. We will definitely be back! David Seymour & Fiona Cox…
My friend and I decided to rendezvous for a girls trip in St Lucia and stayed in Ladera. We booked the Gros Piton Suite, room V. Reasons why I'd highly recommend Ladera: 1) Incredible staff: the concierge, Sherin, Cleotha, etc. They are soooo organized, which you will appreciate when trying to coordinate directly with other lodges. Clear communication, patient, hospitable, fun, funny, etc. 2) Other guests were cool, down to earth considering how expensive it is. I was surprised that the other guests were other middle aged (30s-60s), adventurous, super friendly people. Good mix of chill friends and couples. No ragers, obnoxious, stuffy/snooty people. 3) Views and grounds: Every spot in the resort has an impeccable view. The suites, the hike with sunset view, the outdoor gym and treehouse, dinner and breakfast. I don't think it's possible to have a bad view. Just book this place already. 4) Excursions: wonderful options for activities. Well organized. They give you a phone for communicating with Ladera. We did sunset cruise, superman Hike, tet Paul Hike, soufriere experience, hotel chocolate tour (LOVED Hotel Chocolat experience)...we also went to Zakas Art Cafe, Anse Chasanet's "Vegan" Restaurant Treehouse, and Sugar Beach. I recommend going to all of those places and signing up for all those excursions. Things I'd do differently 1) Skip free beach shuttle to Paradise Beach. Food not great, beach is better at Sugar Beach so just grab a taxi and go there instead. 2) Mix it up with other dinner venues. Although I do recommend the Chef Demo with Chef Nigel!! Dasheene is great but wish we explored more. Hotel Chocolat and Sugar Beach (Jalousie Grill) were delicious!! 3) Stick around for the Ladera Friday Fish Fry cruise. We were leaving the next day so wanted to relax instead, but sounded like it would've been memorable 4) Split our stay with Sugar Beach vs all 7 days at Ladera. Or try North Side too. OR extend our St Lucia stay for another week! Sugar Beach has a cool vibe, Ladera romantic + relaxing..only hesitance about Sugar Beach and North Side: bigger your groups get access to beach and north sides where you find Sandals/big ol resorts. So if more private experience is for you, then stick to Jade Mountain or Ladera. I will definitely come back to Ladera!!!…
We finally got to take our Honeymoon last week and stayed at Ladera. We were supposed to go back in 2020 but Covid had other plans. Ladera was more than generous with giving us a credit for future travel (we paid in advanced). We were so thankful for their generosity as we had to reschedule many times. Based off the photos alone I was anticipating this to be one of the most beautiful places I had ever stayed, let me tell you the photos do not do it justice! We stayed in room "D" it was the "Heritage Suite" and it was heaven on earth. We had breathtaking views from both levels of our suite of the Pitons, ocean and the jungle below us. The suites are beyond breathtaking with hand carved wood, beautiful furnishings and a gorgeous pool. The pool was much warmer than I even anticipated which allowed for beautiful nighttime swims looking up at the gorgeous night sky. All the staff was so generous and kind... Tanisha really stood out and went above and beyond. I am a planner TO THE EXTREME and have to have EVERY aspect of a trip planned before arrival. Tanisha corresponded very well through email and phone and helped me execute every aspect of this trip. Even throughout the trip she was always checking in to see if we needed anything else. One night she even got me a cream to help with the bug bites. (Note: Don't be worried about the bugs... Ladera does a great job at spraying the property and having nets to keep them away... I have always just been prone to bug bites, my husband didn't get a single bite!) If you are planning a visit to Ladera do yourself a favor and deal with Tanisha she will make it the most beautiful trip. The restaurant had breathtaking views, great drinks, friendly staff and good food, I highly recommend the Chicken Roti. The ONLY con, and seriously I mean the ONLY CON was the room had some lizards because there is no fourth wall. For someone that is terrified of reptiles that was definitely a hard thing to overcome but well worth it. My husband and I will definitely be back.…
The staff was so attentive and the views were unreal. Ladera as a whole surpassed any expectations we had and our honeymoon could not have been more perfect. Best food we’ve ever had, concierge booked all the excursions we wanted, all the staff knew our names by the second day, and you can tell they go the extra mile on literally everything. We will absolutely come back and only stay at Ladera.
I do not even know where to begin. Our stay with Ladera was perfect from the time we arrived to when we departed! The staff, food, accommodations, location, and amenities were all top notch! Special shout-outs to Nigel, Caroline, Darrel, and Theo for making our stay just incredible. We cannot wait to return again! Cannot recommend this resort enough.
My girlfriend and I had the best weekend ever! The beautiful views and by far the absolute best staff of any resort we have ever been to. We will definitely be back. Thank you for such a wonderful trip. Sherin at the checkout was great also!
This is a romantic and peaceful place, situated in the mosaic town of Soufrière, overlooking the iconic scenery of the Pitons and the connecting ridge. It’s so picturesque that the a rainbow would often play the main character. All members of the staff, especially Tanisha, went above and beyond to ensure our stay was comfortable. I was so impressed with the invisible web of behind the scene operations that made our visit effortless. The transportation was always on time, the room was always spotless, and everyone and I mean everyone even the restaurant attendees knew our daily schedule so as to speed up the food prep as needed. The room. I have to pause as all of the beautiful imageries just flooded to my mind. The pictures really don’t do justice. We stayed at E (for Excellence) and I really had to be dragged away on the day of our flight back home. The amenities were well thought out and placed. The most convenient part was the two different dual voltage outlets right next to each other so you can pack more bikinis instead of bulky transformer and adapters. Dasheen restaurant- The breakfast had the best omelette and eggs Benedict we’ve ever had. If you like spicy food and is into trying different hot sauces make sure to ask for the hot sauce (yellow pepper based). It’s going to be real difficult for me not to compare every future hotel/resort to Ladera going forward.…
Absolutely loved everything about this hotel, from the airport pickup, the introduction to the hotel and room, right through until checkout, I could not have been more relaxed or looked after any better by all the staff, not just the butlers. The concierge arranged taxis and trips as we wanted, the food in both the regular restaurant and Dasheen were excellent as were the choice of wines. Will definitely add this hotel to my list of future stays
