Beautiful, peaceful and magnificent. An unbelievable location between the Pitons mountains. Pristine beach. Wow. Friendly and top notch staff. Delicious restaurants. Wonderful experience. Highly recommend
The first thing I would like to say is that the most disappointing part of reading any of the Sugar Beach recent TA reviews are the totally non descript copy and paste replies that Harry Fernandes posts. I strongly suggest he reads and digests excerpts of Geoff Raams celebrity customer experiences. geoffraam.com In these troubled Covid 19 times everyone can make exceptions for the odd slip up but having spent £25,000 hard earnt ££ for a two week break, we now feel we need another holiday to remind us that their is life and customer service after our Sugar Beach Vacation. How can any Hotel Manager or Hotel Group owner who has been shutdown for so long due to Covid allow a mechanical digger and associated machinery to operate within direct earshot of the beach everyday of someones holiday including a Saturday disrupting what should be the sound of the waves and humming birds. Harry Fernandes makes a total mockery of peoples values and their expectations when booking a holiday. Luckily I am able to vote with my feet and will never return to Sugar Beach again and I strongly advise anyone thinking of coming to this beautifully stunning resort to do your due diligence first, don’t just read trip advisor contact actual people who have stayed at Sugar Beach. No one can fault the location, 10/10 the rooms are good albeit Mosquitoes frequent, to regularly and my whole holiday was spent with bites. Even If you come bed and breakfast then you need to have very deep pockets, $65 for a piece of steak + 10% service charge + 10% VAT and then the sides are extra and then they want you to leave a tip. Food quality is at best mediocre and other than the Cane Bar is the same at each restaurant, just dressed up with a different title. If you want proper Caribbean food then you need to get of the resort and go to Souffiere, which is difficult due to its location, Water Taxi by independent is the best way but not ideal and COVID risky. Unfortunately you know when you have made a holiday booking error when those all around you on the beach and in restaurants have the same complaints and frustrations and that scheduled meetings with Hotel Management are an hourly occurrence. Whilst the resort is set in beautiful surroundings , unless you are close to the beach you need a shuttle bus to take and collect you from your room and you have to phone for it, nice guys driving but oblivious to the 10 MPH speed limit and the total lack of any sign of Carbon Neutrality is bourne out by the lack of Solar Panels, electric vehicles and the general layout of the resort 0/10 for sustainability and smell of vehicle fumes. The room was exceptional and perfectly cleaned and a suitable tip left at the end of the trip, the “ so called Butler Service “ was awful, only used for arranging the afore mentioned shuttle, daily events were not updated, we missed BBQ night and sunset on the Pier, some punters saw their Butler daily on the Beach and had temperatures taken, we saw no one, total farce. They have a great snorkelling area, just not enough snorkels, after walking up three times to try and borrow a snorkel, we gave up with staff being oblivious as to how to handle our complaint. Unfortunately this experience has meant that we will also not ever consider another Viceroy Resort, we have stayed at many Hotel Chains in our time and if the service is good we always repeat book, as an example Jumeriah is a chain we stop in worldwide and it is always consistently great. I am a regular TA contributor but have lost my old account due to a hotmail email address being deleted.…
My wife and I stayed at Sugar Beach for our honeymoon and had the most incredible trip! The entire property of Sugar Beach is incredibly located between the Gros Pitons. The staff could not be nicer or more accommodating whenever we had any special requests. All of the restaurants are fantastic, we did not have a single bad meal. We thought that the beach would be very busy given the time of year, but the beach was really nicely kept and situated. The Rainforest spa was by far the best spa/massage I have ever been to in my life! We also took tennis lessons a few mornings which was so much fun! I cannot wait to come back!!!
The people are what made this experience so wonderful. They have a warm and genuine approach to sincerely asking if there is anything they can do for you or help you with. The amenities and food was first class; overall an amazing vacation
We had a wonderful time at Sugar Beach: we loved the room, the views, the rainbows and the sunsets. The staff were without exception kind, friendly, and cheerful. The main pool was lovely and almost always empty! A couple of small niggles: the food was generally excellent, especially breakfast and the grilled fish at lunchtime; but the menus did not change, so if like us you do not eat meat, the choices, especially at the Great Room, were very limited. There was only one vegetarian option. There were also several errors on our bill, which made checking out a disappointing end to a wonderful holiday. Overall though, a really lovely place to stay.
