The Soco House offers a vibrant atmosphere that blends lively social experiences with serene moments, though some guests have noted a need for quieter music. While its prime Rodney Bay location earns praise for proximity to beaches and nightlife, reviews suggest the hotel's value is compromised by slow service and inadequate facilities. Cleanliness generally receives commendations, but travelers call for improvements in housekeeping and quicker meal services. Comfortable beds are a highlight in the rooms, yet maintenance and noise issues detract from the experience. Service is often described as lackluster, marked by disorganization and long waits.

On arrival we were welcomed with a fruit punch and bags taken to our room. Soco House was better than we anticipated, the room was a large top floor bedroom with a huge balcony and housekeeping kept the room spectacularly clean every day the sand we brought back from the beach disappeared!

Set a ten minute walk from the centre the hotel is in a perfect location for Reduit beach which is a two minute walk across the road. Beach towels are provided and a cool box pack up with a choice of drinks, there are sun loungers and an umbrella provided on the beach too.

The food is fresh everyday and cooked to perfection. Catch of the day was our favourite everyday and nothing was too much trouble for the chef especially being dairy intolerant they really accommodated me.

We will definitely be back to Soco House in the future, it's a great base for adventures and has car parking at the front and a water taxi access point 100m to the left of the entrance.

Thank you so much for your gracious hospitality, beautiful food & outstanding housekeeping staff!

Eloise is the personality of the hotel and can answer any questions about the island and also arrange fantastic trips and experiences 😊

We arrived around 8.40pm and met by a stark white reception. The lady on reception who checked us in did ask if we would like a rum punch that never materialised. It would of been nice if she advised that the restaurant closed at 9pm so we could of least eaten rather than just given us an envelope with details in so by the time we got to our room the restaurant had shut.
We had a ground floor room which was sanbagged to keep out the rain. The room was spacious and probaly one of the most comfortable hotel beds I have ever slept in. More convenient sockets would be helpful plus USB sockets. The bathroom was very poorly lit so hard to put on makeup. Room was very clean.
The bar and restaurant staff were very pleasant but in the week we were their we noticed a rapid staff change. We heard this was due to the poor wages at $2 an hour or 5 caribbean dollars so the hotel needs to pay decent wages to keep staff.
The food is excellent and could not be faulted.
The mangement need to listen more carefully to guests. The reception/loungs area is filled with unsittable large chairs and never saw anyone in there and the bar was closed. Only the pool bar open. The gift shop opened during our stay but who wants to buy the odd beach bag or hat.
Renovations to rooms was still ongoing so not very pleasant lieing by the pool listening to a drill. It would of been better to close the hotel until finished completely.
We never saw the pool being cleaned during our stay and the cabanas at $50 were ignored. More sunloungers needed. You are taken on your first trip to the beach to show you the hotels allocated area and can take beers and water but not before 10am.
We did enjoy our stay and great not to have buffet food as could not fault the restaurant.

I visited the Soco Hotel in Barbados a few years ago (it was right next to our hotel located in a beautiful and quiet beach front) and decided to give his sister venue a go. My partner and spent 10 nights in this hotel (the first two weeks of June during the Jubilee). We booked flights + hotels directly with BA which was a real bargain for an all inclusive holiday in the Caribbeans. We got a warm welcome and offered a rum punch and swiftly taken to our room.

We booked the upgraded room via BA but were placed in a standard room which was grubby. However, we were tired and decided to unpack and enjoy our holiday. In addition, we didn't have hot water for 2 days in a row (on and off as the handy man, bless him came over to fix it) then the room safe got broken and was removed from our room. At that point, we spoke with receptions and we got moved into a new room where everything work fine. This was end of day 3 so we couldn't relax much at the beginning of our stay. Once we moved to a room which had a functioning safe and hot water the holiday finally commenced. The hotel definitely need some maintenance overall and the rooms should do with some refurbishment. However, they get cleaned every day and towels changed regularly. On the other hand, the hall and the restaurant are both nice and the bar and the pool lovely. The location of the hotel is fantastic: 3 mins walk to a gorgeous beach and 10 mins to the mall and the main restaurants and bars.

The food in the restaurant is good quality and the a la carte menu provided several options for breakfast, lunch and dinner. We also had several lunches at Spinnakers at the beach and dined in town many times but we really liked the food here. The restaurant staff is simply the best, always smiling and accommodating and made us feel special and welcome. Gemma and Eloise are superb entertainers and I hope they will move to guest relations soon. We also enjoyed the cocktails at the bars and Quincy and Marlon were excellent.

The clientele was made of Brits and few Americans and Europeans. Many friendships were formed around the pool and bar area. We kept to ourselves as we want to spend time together.

The bell boys were great and escorted us to the beach with a cooler packed with drinks. I loved the beach but the bumsters and vendors were annoying and pestering us for drinks and money every single day. A word of warning bring food and/or small cash for them if you want to relax.

We've been to the Caribbeans (several islands) 7 times and St Lucia is a little gem. I suggest you go on several trips or hire a guide to discover what this island has on offer.

The hotel has a lot of potential and I shall hope it will be refurbish properly then I can consider going back for the lovely people and food.

We arrived at this hotel with a warm welcome, we were showed our room, which was not clean, the shower leaked all the way through on to the bathroom floor , making it extremely slippery. We told the reception about this , they sent a guy to repair it with sealant but like everything in this hotel it was bodged, and still leaked.
I asked for a hair dryer for three days in a row, I was then given one which did not work. The socket for a hairdryer is no way near the mirror. The electrical sockets around the hotel are dangerous with bare wires that hang out of the walls. They have soap dispensers in the bathroom with no soap. There is no where in the bathroom to put your wet towels
There are 22 sun beds at the hotel for 75 rooms, it was like a fight every day trying to get one and trying to get a clean beach towel was almost impossible.

The public toilets hardly ever had any soap in them and never any paper towels or a hand dryer. I even saw the chef come out of the kitchen to clean the toilet floor, and then she went straight in to the kitchen to cook lunch.
The staff are all demoralised and only did what was needed of them numerous had left in the time we were there, as they had not been paid.

while we where there they run out of Coke sprite Gin croissants Bananas Yogurt Spiced rum Water Sausages Mushrooms Bread Gronola Vodka Beer Baileys Ice etc
It became a joke with all the unhappy people who stayed there, what would they run out of today.
The wait from ordering your meal to receiving it was on average one hour 20 mins.
The food was the only good thing about this hotel and the only member of staff that stayed cheerful was Marlon, we all felt sorry for him as he had to say again and again that they had run out of what you wanted
This hotel obviously has major problems and no money to pay staff and suppliers.
I complained to the manager and he told me I was not happy with his Hotel and he advised me to leave. Which I did.
Please don’t be fooled this is not a new hotel it is an unclean hotel that should not be open, definitely not covid friendly
The spa is not a spa it only offers massages nothing else.

First impressions as we walked into the hotel was fabulous foyer is clean and bright with white and blue furniture. This idea was quickly dispensed with on getting to our room which had shabby furniture supposed revamp was a quick lick of paint and new beds. To be fair the beds were really comfy and we slept well if you put ear plugs in to drown out noise from pool bar! Our main issue was no hot water for showering which we reported several times even to the CEO Ralph people came to try and fix it but to no avail one maintenance man came with a wrench just looked at shower and walked away with no attempt at repair! After an 8 day stay with only 1 hot shower we transferred to Harbour Club for the rest of our stay! What a difference both supposed 4 star hotels but no comparison!
Our Second issue was for 7 of our 8 days the pool was filthy. I swam in it the first day and got a Ute diarrhoea and sickness because of it which cleared up when I stopped using the pool. This hotel seems to take a “smoke and mirrors approach” as we saw painters busy working for the grand opening on Sat 25th March whilst neglecting to deal with the basics- clean pool hot showers etc.
The dining room is a joke although food is good when it finally arrives! Who wants to spend 2 hours 3 times a day out of precious holiday time waiting for food . We very rarely complain an expect a wait for freshly cooked food but I hour wait for an omlette seriously!!
Other issue is sunbeds or lack of them totally unacceptable with space taken up by cabanas at 30 dollars a day no way! I asked for a glass of Prosecco as on AI but was told that was only available if I hired a cabana! Cool box to take to beach good idea but allocated beach beds and umbrellas really tatty and dubious characters on beach trying to extract money from you! This hotel is Fawlty Towers at best I recommend you stay elsewhere! We are currently in the process of getting compensation from BA for 8 days of loss of enjoyment of our holiday!

This review was read. The pool was sorted the second day after we received the guest complain. We are certainly not a perfect hotel but we would never have a pool filthy and out of service for 7 or 8 days. The CEO came to your room to help to assist with a hot water issue. This happened because your happiness is very important to us.

I spent an amazing 11 days at the Soco House and couldn't have asked for a better experience! I was traveling alone and instantly felt like I was at home. I almost cried when I had to leave lol. The hotel was spotless and beautiful and my room was fantastic! Halcyon and her team made sure my room was sparkling clean everyday and I would often return to fresh flowers and water being chilled in the fridge.

Upon checking in I was greeted by Rocher who was so kind and very helpful throughout my stay. She had great recommendations for activities to do and local restaurants to check out.

The food was outstanding and very high quality. I love that there was a la carte service for all meals daily and I didn't see a menu item repeated once for lunch or dinner. Hats off to Chef Rhea and her team for all of the delicious meals! Irene, Tamara & George greeted me on the first night in the restaurant and I looked forward to seeing them every night thereafter. They were so nice, funny and kind, and consistently made sure I had everything I needed. Lea the morning hostess was also absolutely lovely and remembered almost every guests name and room number. The servers were all very professional and remembered all my special requests like extra hot sauce and my favorite cocktails.

The bartenders were also amazing and Michelle, Warren and Rose made sure I always had a nice drink in front of me, even when I was working at the bar on my laptop.

Cindie and all of the managers were ever-present and run a tight ship! They were also very kind and made sure that I had everything I needed at all times.

Special shout out to Eloise for being my bff during my stay and helping me with everything from making reservations in the dining room to providing excursion info. I looked forward to seeing her every day and she went above and beyond to make me feel welcome. She was very popular amongst guests too and I saw her everywhere around the hotel taking care of business.

The hotel is located a few minutes walk from the beach, lots of restaurants and there is a mall plaza just down the street. Overall the hotel is in a great location and I recommend to anyone looking for a beautiful space to relax and enjoy some good food, drinks and hospitality. I can’t wait to come back and see all my new friends in the paradise of St. Lucia!

What an excellent hotel.

This Boutique style hotel, situated in a prime location in Rodney Bay, lived up to all our expectations and more.

A small hotel (74 rooms) by comparison to others in the area, this place specialises in individual care & attention.

Adult only, all inclusive package and a la carte service for all meals, we were pampered from start to finish.

The grand entrance hall / reception is spectacular in white and blue & even boasts a baby grand piano in the foyer.

The rooms are bright, spacious and airy, with everything a traveller needs.

The poolside bar is well stocked and we were never short of suggestions for a cocktail

The pool are was quiet and relaxing. There was always space on the sun beds and the pool was never crowded.

When visiting the beach, the staff were happy to make up a complementary cool box and show us to the designated sun beds reserved for this hotel on the beach, just a very short walk from the hotel. You can even arrange to collect lunch from the hotel if you stay at the beach all day.

The food was fantastic. Good quality fresh produce made and served to order by very attentive waiters. Also, we stayed 12 nights and were surprised at how few dishes were repeated on the menu throughout our stay.

What makes this hotel stand out though, is the friendly happy atmosphere created by wonderful staff who, apart from doing their own jobs, take a genuine interest in their guests. Always happy to offer travel tips, impart local knowledge and make suggestions to help us get the most out of our stay.

I would absolutely recommend this hotel without question.

We have mixed feelings about our stay at Soco House. Many of the complaints voiced by others recently are valid from our experience. Some of the responses however, are disingenuous at best.
Soco House is a small place and has potential. It's been brought up to date recently but some works are still going on, so some advertised facilities like the tennis court are not available.
Restaurant service was variable and on many occasions ridiculously slow. The range and quality of food was generally OK but there were some irritating issues such as not always receiving what you'd ordered and the catch of the day was always Dorado! A quick lunch option would be a good idea.
A number of restaurant staff were efficient and welcoming but some were very much the opposite. The overall impression is that the F&B operation is only just coping most of the time, which needs addressing.
The number of available sun loungers is a problem and the new double bed cabanas exacerbate that, just to drag in a few extra dollars.
Cool boxes for the beach are a nice idea and appreciated. The shortage of sunshades however, often made the beach less attractive.
The pool bar service was mostly good but the same old music rotation all day was wearing and often unnecessary.
The room was pleasant enough and kept clean by a friendly team; the A/C worked well and having a fridge in our room was good, but we had to collect small bottles of water from reception twice a day with no other beverages offered. A wasted resource really.
On the whole, we enjoyed our holiday but we would find it hard to recommend this hotel due to the current issues.
It needs to improve significantly to live up to its own description on this website:
"SoCo House offers the unique charm and exclusivity of an ... Boutique Hotel for a discerning customer who requires a modern, high quality Hotel facility, and service"
At the moment it doesn't, but it could.

St Lucia is a beautiful island! Soco House is an amazing hotel and everyone is so friendly. Soco is quite small but that just means you get to know all the other guests and all the brilliant staff, sitting around the lovely central poolside bar in the sun with a cocktail or beer talking to the fantastic and entertaining bar staff. A quick dip in the pool, sunbathe on a lounger or read in one of their cabannas then back to the bar to cool off and have a chat with Yurnel or a dance from Michelle ...and Desma's laugh just kept us smiling ... it was very relaxing.
The meals were always just around the corner and were all A la Carte with lots of choice and always presented professionally ,you was greeted by the wonderful Eloise and lots of other amazing waitresses but do remember you are in the Caribbean and not everything is always available or exactly as it says on the menu.
Our room at Soco House was at the top but there is only 3 levels, the bottom rooms do look appealing as they have a patio area right next to the bar and pool but we also liked our room at the top as you looked over the pool from the balcony or could look out to the sea from the back corridor and the air con was glorious as it was hot and humid when we stayed.
The beach is just what you imagine of the Caribbean Sea,shallow, clear water and golden sand. The beds assigned to Soco are quite far up the beach past Spinakers Bar and you will have to mention you are from Soco to one of the locals and give them a few EC dollars and they will dig you in a parasol. But we found we were quite satisfied with floating around in the calm seas watching the world go by.
We went on an aerial gondala and zip lining in the rainforest, climbed the fort at Pigeon Island ( take a water taxi) did the Gros Islet Friday night street party and got drenched on the one stormy day that we had when we had booked a trip to Sulphur Springs and the Waterfalls. We booked through reception but do be aware that due to the bad weather the waterfalls and baths could be closed which was very disappointing!
One negaitive was the transfer from the airport as it takes 1 1/2 -2 hours by road .

Myself and my hubby stayed at the Soco house for 2 weeks, I must say this is the Cleanest Hotel I have ever Stayed in with the Most comfortable bed. The staff really do make this hotel, nothing is too much trouble for them, the food is chosen from a 3 course menu for Breakfast, lunch and dinner and never failed to impress, we never made it for lunch but the dinner menu was changed every 2 days always making the choice of meals really good, on the evenings there was not much we fancied the chef would always cook some fries so we could just have chicken and chips or steak and chips. Our cleaner did an excellent job of cleaning our room every day, the only thing that could be improved in the room was to have the fridge stocked with water, soft drinks, beers, you only had water on arrival and then had to collect water from reception each day there after. A lot of previous reviews say about the lack of sunbeds and yes I would agree with that although it never bothered us as we love the beach so spent our days there, we were supplied with a cool box each day to take to the beach and there were sun beds allocated to the Soco house and there were guys on the beach who would dig a parasol in for you although some of these are in need of replacing. We met some lovely people and my only negative is that there is no comfortable seating around the pool bar that you can spend an evening having a chat with people, the bar stools were very uncomfortable so most evenings we would end up standing up, same at the indoor bar, some lovely seating in there but not arranged to be group friendly again to sit and chat.
We went on a catamaran excursion to the Pitons and sulphur springs and booked through a guy on the beach but I would recommend booking through your holiday rep or direct at the hotel as they seemed to have a better experience than we had, walked into town a few times and went to Kee Bees to watch rugby and then the triangle bar across the road for food and I would recommend that, felt safe at all times, also ate at Spinnarkers on the beach and although the meal was lovely I did feel this was a little expensive. We went to the street party and had a fun evening but this is what you make of it, lots of street food, bars and loud music but not much else happening.
My only other recommendation for this hotel would be to have a coffee machine or coffee/tea station available all day and maybe more snacks on offer throughout the day, not everyone wants a 3 course meal in the restaurant every lunch time so snacks would give another option.
I would recommend this hotel and will be back someday as we did have a very relaxing time here which is just what we we were looking for.
