What a gem! Our fourth visit to the island but our first and definitely not last visit to East Winds. We stayed 11 nights Sept/Oct and had an amazing time, even though Hurricane Ian messed with the weather a bit. The warmth of all the staff at East Winds made up for a little bit of rain. This is a really intimate resort, where staff know your name almost immediately. The rooms and gardens are lovely and well kept. Excellent service in the bars and restaurant from Jay, Mickel, Windel & Miriam. First class dining and chef happy to accommodate changes to menu if necessary. Joe on the water sports is also fantastic and always on hand to assist. Be sure to give yoga with Jill a go as well. She managed to get us 2 old crocs flexing our bodies in ways we really didn't think possible! Thank you, East Winds, we hope to see you again soon.

Our family stayed at East winds in August/September 2022 .Could not of picked a better place to stay . It was beautiful. Amazing location. Lovely well equipped villas situated in mature botanical gardens with paths wandering through the exotic trees and shrubs, the paths guiding you to the restaurants, swimming pool, yoga hall and private beach. Picturesque beach with white sand, blue seas with mature coconut trees . Plenty of water activities. Sailing , snorkelling, paddle boarding etc. Experienced amazing sunsets, whilst sitting on the beach with a cocktail.Plenty of sun loungers placed around the swimming pool and on the beach. The meals were exceptional. Could not fault the food or service . Every lunch and evening you was entertained. I really enjoyed listening to the pianist and the steel band. Also enjoyed the local singers .The staff were outstanding. The breakfast, lunch, dinner service worked like clockwork . Will never forget how we were treated by the staff . They made how holiday the most fantastic and memorable holiday we have ever been on! On arrival we was pleasantly greeted by Judith, Andy and Stanley the dog . Lily supplied us with cold drinks. Very much appreciated. Enjoyed chats with Silva who was always cheerful and had a great rum tasting evening . Loved Trevor’s breakfast, Looked after so well by Jay and Merkel during the hot days with cooling drinks. Andy,Selma,Septima,Kirby,Windel,Kirwin, Devon could not of done enough for us . Always with a smile . Amazing staff. Had a lovely cooking session with Harry who taught us some great kitchen skills and made a delicious curry. Charms was there for any queries. Simeon took us out to the local market and rum distillery. We had a great day at the rain forest. Taking part in the bush walk, skyline and zip wires. Great fun. Had a very interesting garden tour with the knowledgeable Head gardener sylvanus. Enjoyed garden chat with Fresh. Away from the complex. We had a tasty pizza at a restaurant at Rodney Bay harbour. Fallen in love with St Lucia. So pleased we choose East winds to stay. Hummingbirds visiting your villas . Tree frogs singing at night . Paradise !! Will definitely go back . Miss it greatly. This is a small and hotel comprising a number of semi detached guest rooms across the grounds. The hotel has a single restaurant a pool on non motor water sports. The staff were without exception amazing warm and friendly endlessly polite and helpful. First name terms from first meal to last and cocktails in between. Special mention to Miriam and the two main bar lads J & M who looked after us so well. Good food wine and spirits and all included in the package.

It is impossible to fault anything about this fantastic stay. Initially reticent about a small, boutique hotel, I was totally bowled over by the East Winds. Our room was fabulous in one of the cottages. It was beautifully decorated on arrival and housekeeping was thorough daily with a well stocked minibar and coffee making facilities. Initially, I didn’t like the idea of going outside to make coffee but I grew to love the peace of the morning snd watching the birds. The gardens are beautiful and well worth walking around with Sylvanus, such a font of knowledge. I also did a nature walk with Simeon which was great if a little wet! Food and drinks are of exceptional quality with evening meal tasting menus and wine pairing. Chef Harry and Chef Linton do amazing meals and the cooking class is also good fun. Service is second to none snd it is hard to single people out but Silvia and Windel work very hard and laugh contagiously behind the bar. Miriam, Septima and Curlene always welcome you at breakfast and lunch and never forget your name of your dietary preferences. I did a few tours via Simeon - always good vibes and good value. I know we will return just not sure how soon but hopefully in the not too distant future.

This was our third visit to East Winds over 25 years. We were married here, came back for our 15th wedding anniversary with our daughter, and now to celebrate our 25th. We were welcomed back to our honeymoon deluxe cottage, and our room was full of fresh flowers on the bed and bathroom, with a welcoming bottle of champagne awaiting us in an ice bucket. The sounds of the tree frogs and birds that we remembered so well are a delight, and fill the tropical gardens with the sounds of nature. We were given a warm welcome by Jennell and provided with cooling towels and fruit punch. The resort has had an extensive renovation since we last visited in 2013. The cottages and bathrooms have been upgraded to a high standard and are kept spotlessly clean by the hard working housekeeping team. We were provided with Deet spray and mosquito spray for our room and the resort is fogged once a week as in the wet season the mosquitos can be a nuisance. Make sure you use the deet or bring your own to use to avoid being bitten. Judith, Manager - it was so good to finally meet you Judith and to see what an amazing job you have done on the renovations in 2017 of East Winds. Also keeping the resort as it was with it's timeless ambience, wonderful staff (many of whom we have met in the past) and the wonderful Caribbean vibe that continues to make this resort such an intimate and relaxing place to stay. ReceptIon: a big thank you to Charms, Jennell, Lily and and all the team for assisting us in settling in and anything we required. Restaurant and Bar: Thank you to Titus, Elie, Miriam, Selina, Robert and all the restaurant staff for taking such good care of us. Thank you to Germaine, Trevor and all the breakfast and lunch team chefs for providing the most amazing pancakes and omlettes, also an exceptional cooked breakfast. The daily therapy juices and smoothies were fantastic. Thank you to Germaine for bringing out all the peanut shooter desserts, at lunch that I loved so much!. Thank you to Windel, Kerwin, Kirby. Tressa, Sylvia, Jayeh and Mickel, Devon and anyone I have not named for proving us with the most amazing cocktails and bar service. Jayeh and Mickel for our 4pm 'pina colada' o'clock time every day and providing a first class pool and beach service. You were all so much fun to be around and made our stay extra special. Chefs: Thank you to Rene, Harry, Linton and all the team who worked so hard on the delicious menu's, and for having the weekly banana flambe on the menu, which is a firm favourtie of ours doused in the Denros rum! We also loved the BBQ evenings and lunches and the delicious lemon and BBQ sauces to accompany the fish and meat. A huge thank you to Simeon who is the Good Vibes resort co-ordinator. Simeon helped us to tailor make 3 trips for us to the local markets, the Pink Plantation House so that we could purchase the beautiful local pottery, and visits to the Botanical Gardens with lunch at The Beacon. We had expert drivers, Paul and Ali who were very knowledgeable about the island and gardens and took great care of us. Ali even stopped to pick us fresh mangos from the trees that we could have at breakfast. Simeon also organised the zip wire and gondola tram ride for us at Rainforest Adventures, which was a day enjoyed by us all. It was my birthday while we were on holiday and we had a private beach cabana expertly decorated by head gardener Sylvanus. Personalised menus, tied in ribbon and our table covered in sparkles. I had a delicious birthday cake baked by the chefs (white chocolate, lime and coconut) which was such a wonderful treat. Even the local Shak Shak band came out of the main restaurant where they were entertaining the guests, to sing Happy Birthday to me! What a wonderful evening. Everything is so carefully thought out and you are made to feel at home from day one. The entertainment: There is slightly more entertainment now that there was in 2013, which is a good thing. We loved the fact that the steel band still play twice weekly on a Thursday and Saturday at lunchtime and the talented Dien who plays the in-house Steinway piano 3 nights per week during dinner. The Shak Shak bands, the wonderful DJ on a Friday evening, and the singer on a Saturday, all welcome additions and appropriate for a small intimate resort where guests can mingle in the bar after dinner and enjoy the atmosphere. We met up with friends we had not seen for 10 years who are regular's at East Winds and got to know others that have returned for many years to this island paradise. Please do not change a thing, as this very special resort is like no other and we hope to see you all again in the future.

Fantastic, laid back hotel. Can’t praise the water sports team - Damien and Joe - highly enough. Joe took the time to teach our teenage son to sail the Hobiecat and they were both on hand to help with kayaks and paddle boards. The bar and restaurant staff are fabulous; Michel and Jayan on the beach and Sylvia and Devon in the bar. Too many to name! And my husband highly recommends Theresa’s hands of steel for a firm massage, noting that you can choose your pressure rating of course! The only niggle was the mosquitoes - they are an issue, especially in the wet season. I don’t know if there was misting, we didn’t see it but definitely need the 50% DEET. We have stayed at 3 different luxury hotels in St Lucia and this is the best!

Dear familytravelEssex, Thanks for the lovely review, the team will be delighted to hear from you and that you had a wonderful holiday. We do mist and fog at East Winds for mosquitoes but this year seems to have been a bad one. Luckily it doesn’t last long and soon they will have died down. Looking forward to your next visit and in the meantime take care and dream of island beach days! Judith

If you want to relax and not worry about a darn thing - this is the place for you! Special shout-out to Sylvia (and her infectious laugh), Robert (go Braves!), Jayah (best bartender on the island), and Charms (who is the most charming)! This was the last place we stayed on the island and was the perfect way to end our vacay with some downtime. Great property, amazing gardens, right on the beach, incredible people. The BEST breakfast and lunches. Wonderful bar and bar staff. If they don't have it (and they have A LOT), they will get it for you that day or the next. All inclusive (and they mean it! Even watersports, yoga classes, and a few other activities are included in the price). Local bands playing every dinner time and a few lunches. They will sort out all of your off resort excursions for you. There is a pretty great lounge as well that serves afternoon tea, and the bar is open until midnight - so there is always an opportunity to mingle with other guests if that's your thing. There are 26 cabins so they still maintain that small, personal resort vibe that you don't get at the bigger places. Definitely worth taking an afternoon and checking out all the exquisitly maintained botany (apparently the original owner was very into plants and so maintained a lot of original trees etc. on the lot, and added some in). Definitely worth noticing the local artwork they have around the place. You can tell that everyone there is putting a huge effort into making your vacation flawless. Definitely make time for a massage in their garden spa! Listening to the sounds of nature while getting pampered is incredible. I have already recommended it to a few people looking for a chilled out St. Lucia experience. Really, really great place - we will for sure be back.

Nicest people ever in this little slice of heaven. We have been looking forward to our 10-day vacation here in St Lucia after a horrible start at a place masquerading as a resort that's really a one person controlled Airbnb type property in a neighborhood close to nothing, called Tet Rouge. Things continually got better as our next Resort, which I've already reviewed Fond Doux, was fantastic in the jungle but this literally took the gold medal. A sleepy 26 cabin all inclusive family style Resort that sits right on the water. When I say family everybody here treats you like that from the day you get here it seemed like everyone knew our name and unlike our first stop were one person did it all they must have had 30 different employees here working in concert together all for the benefit of the guest. The vast majority of the guest here are from Britain so you do have that little spin which we thought was interesting.. that everyday they have a formal sit-down breakfast lunch and dinner even the tea in the afternoon if that floats your boat. Speaking of floating.. they have a complete water sports center complete with Hobie cats snorkeling gear paddle board anything that you want for absolutely no cost.. no stupid cards you have to carry around just walk up they know your name and you're on your way. Great selection of liquors whether it's Tito's or high-end bourbon I don't remember seeing anything they did not have.. again everything included at no cost.we paid less per night after all was said and done, here as we did for the dump we stayed in the first 3 days, Tet Rouge, but here everything was included including a lot of smiles... A special shout out to Sylvia behind the bar her laugh was infectious you could hear it from all over.. Robert one of the servers and a huge Mets fan so if you're from New York you'll enjoy that banter, if you're from the south go Braves! Which on a side note has outscored them 18 to 1 the last two games while we were here :-) J down at the beach always asking if you were good, as you sat underneath your private thatched Cabana, steps away from the water and there were plenty of those for everybody.. Charms apparently is the new director and obviously she is pushing the right buttons not sure how it could have been any better before, you can tell people have been coming here for years as they've established relationships not only with the staff but with each other as you listening to the conversations. Every night they have a live music while you're eating and afterwards.. combine that with the breezes and a beautiful sunset every night if you're looking for something smaller and more unique to the island, this really is your place. I will address one thing do you hear dogs barking yes you do in the hills.. for us it was minimal for some it might be a little overbearing that is something you have to decide on. I can tell you truly memorable experience for us and will be back multiple times a year moving forward till I'm gone or till things change.

We had a wonderfully relaxing time on our first trip to St. Lucia thanks to the exceptional East Winds family. Our top reasons for loving our stay at East Winds: 1. The most important reason has to be the fantastic staff at the resort. Each and every one of them was very warm, friendly and kind. They really do make the place! Right after our first day, all of them knew us by name and this really adds to the sense of comfort and familiarity with the place putting you at ease to make the most of your time there. Our 10 year old son was also the youngest one at the resort while we were there and he made friends with everyone at the resort and will definitely be thinking of all the lovely times he spent at the resort for a while. 2. The breakfast smoothies and therapies and the local cuisine at the lunches were our favourites. The four course meal every night was lovely too. We would love to see even more local cuisine at all meals and fresh coconut water at lunch every day please 😃 (Sylvanus’ handy bottle of rum by the coconut counter just makes it even better!) 3. Fantastic gardens in the resort. Really does feel like you are living in a slice of the rainforest. And loved all the birds that visited us daily and some joined us for meals too. 4. Joe! For being so incredibly patient and enthusiastic with our 10 year old and teaching him how to paddle board and sail! Two life skills he will keep with him forever. Thank you! 5. Sylvanus for being super kind to us and bringing us all sorts of natural remedies from his carefully grown gardens for bug bites and my son’s sea sickness. We really appreciated your support to get our son up and running quickly so he could still enjoy the last day before leaving. 6. Jayah and Mikhael for keeping us entertained and in high spirits both pool side and on the beach! Our son also thanks you for all the Shirley Temples, Virgin Pina Coladas and Virgin Strawberry/Mango Daiquiris 🤣 7. Simeon for the good vibes (and the good vibes punch)! Highly recommend the sunset cruise and the Piton tour. 8. Teresa for her magic hands at the garden spa! 9. The surprise birthday cake for breakfast and the adorably decorated cabana for my husband’s birthday dinner and decorations in our room too! You really made his birthday special with 48 hours of surprise celebrations 🎉 10. Meeting all the wonderful guests who were there who also added to the community feeling with familiar smiles and lovely chats. It’s the first time I’ve actually met so many people on a holiday! You don’t usually end up knowing others as well in big resorts. Thank you so much East Winds family for making our first trip to the Caribbean so memorable! We will be back again!
