After reading the reviews it was as expected a great place to stay! We had booked a garden bungalow only to be told we had been upgraded to the main hotel which we knew wasn't the case so don't be fobbed off. Some of the rooms haven't been updated and garden bungalows have so after two days we moved into one. Food was above average but bit samey after a week, cow foot an goat curry not for me. Fine dinning night was lasagne so certainly not fine dine. The bar should be always open an the rooftop bar never opened this needs to change. An when it's BBQ eve the main bar should also stay open. Had a massage which was $75, don't bother was no effort put in was not good. Staff are very friendly and welcoming nothing to much trouble. The visitors was a mix of brits an Americans/Canadians. Some tacky Brits & benifit cheats knocking about but easy to avoid. Castries is a proper dump an although beach nice the surrounding area rough. Boat trips great the coastline beautiful. All in all top place won't be returning tho better islands to see.

Wow. What an amazing ten days holiday. From the moment we arrived at Bel Jou, we could tell this was the best choice of accommodation. Warm, welcoming and super friendly. The hotel is very clean and rooms well appointed. The staff however were on a different level…..nothing was too much trouble for this amazing team. From reception to housekeeping and everything in between, you really couldn’t ask for better. All team members focus on making your stay one to remember. We felt part of the family by the end of the week and genuinely sad to leave these lovely people. Special mention to Jodine, Samantha, Brendan, Kisha, Joufree, Kimberley and Princess. Seems wrong to single out some staff members, as all are amazing. You won’t go hungry or thirsty at Bel Jou, a good range of food on offer and drinks aplenty. I Highly Recommend Bel Jou if you want to feel relaxed and welcome.

I really do not know where to start. By far the best holiday, hotel, staff & experience I have ever had! Special mention to Princess for looking after us in an evening. Cyprian, your drinks were the best! Verkessa, thank you for putting up with my endless coffee's in a morning. Alvin, some of the best food I have ever tasted! Jahfree, sorry i didn't take you up on your aerobics offer (The blues man). Dean your team are the best I have ever experienced! The room was fantastic, we had a small issue with mosquitos, however, this was sorted immediately by the staff who went straight in to fumigate. Everything about this hotel is just perfect. The location is great with fantastic views over Castries. The gardens and all areas of the hotel were immaculate. Please do not even consider another hotel in the Castries area. We will definitely return to the Bel Jou it is amazing. Thank you to everyone who made this the most incredible holiday ever. Simon & Claire :)

We are sitting in reception waiting for our car to the airport, leaving this wonderful resort is sad. We can not fault anything. The room was spacious, food and drink plentiful. Swimming pools lovely temperatures to cool you down. The gardens are beautifully kept. But the best feature of Bel Jor is it’s AMAZINGLY staff from top to bottom. We are not going to list people individually incase We miss someone, We have traveled a lot but these guys are by far the happiest kindest and most welcoming staff we have met. Can’t wait to come back next year

I had an enjoyable ten-night stay at the Bel Jou hotel. One of the best things about it is the staff (Quincy, Jafree etc.). They work extremely hard, are very friendly and helpful. The hotel is in the process of refurbishing its accommodation. My ocean view room, at the end of the main block, needs updating however it was spacious and clean. I saw a couple of other guests newly decorated garden bungalow rooms and understand some rooms in the main block have also been updated. Guests were a mix of holiday makers, business travellers, and local, short term stay visitors. The hotel was peaceful and quiet for much of my stay. A large, noisy group, took over the lower pool and self-service bar, drawing complaints from other guests, however they only stayed for a few days. There's a wide choice of food and drink options. The hotel also arranges a barbecue with traditional Caribbean food, and entertainment, on Thursday's. The Bel Jou is secluded with no easy access to a beach or island attractions. Walking to or from the hotel isn't recommended. There's a free hotel shuttle service to the town centre or Vigie Beach five days a week and a onsite rep offering various excusions. For anyone without their own transport and wishing to travel to other parts of the island independently (e.g., Rodney Bay, Pigeon Island, or other beaches), the taxi service used by the hotel can be expensive with higher prices, charged in US dollars, for guests. Overall, I enjoyed my time at the Bel Jou. Its plus points: the staff, location in Castries, amenities etc. would encourage me to stay there again.

We (my wife, daughter and myself) returned here in September and had, once again, a fantastic holiday. Just like last year all of the staff (and I mean ALL) were absolutely wonderful - so friendly, polite and helpful. It was, for us, like returning to see old friends and we were given such a warm welcome back. Previous reviews have all extolled the numerous plus points of both the hotel and staff so I will not labour the point, but suffice to say that I doubt very much that we have taken our last holiday at the Bel Jou - we will return!

The hotel itself was very nice and secluded, this may be a big factor for some though. The hotel was at low occupancy when I stayed, there was only one restaurant running. Breakfast was the same everyday, with dinner being something different nightly. Slightly disappointed in how the security guard treated the stray dog which was outside the gates most nights. I know I’m in a different country but seeing how these dogs are treated was easy to watch. It only wanted a bit of shade and he shooed it away! There was no sun lounge reserving which is what I like to see! Although getting a tower for the pool could’ve been explained. You have to go to lulus cabana to pick them up. The hotel offers a shuttle to the town Castries or the beach which is only a 5-10 min drive down. You could walk but it’s a massive hill. Overall a good hotel. I felt relaxed throughout.

Fabulous hotel in an amazin setting, we had an amazin 2 week holiday here. We stayed in bungalow 12 spotlessly clean, room staff are great an work very hard. We had a very chilled and relaxin time @ Bel Jou an would highly recommend it. The staff @ Bel Jou are amazin they can't do enough for you, we made some great friends and had some great fun dancing, singin and lots of laughing with Samantha, Kasha, Princess, Brendon, Devon to name a few. Food @ Bel Jou was very good lots of chose like Caribbean bbq, A La Carte & Lulu's Cabanna. Entertainment was fabulous Caribbean music, fire eaters Steel bands. Drinks were plentiful at Cabanna, restaurant and serve yourself at bottom pool area. We went into Castries, to the beach on the free hotel shuttle bus and also did the Soufre catamaran trip which was amazin. We were sad to leave as it was an amazin holiday and will hopefully return in the near future💚💚

I can't say enough about this hotel & staff, the staff are exceptional nothing is too much trouble & very friendly. Hotel entertainment is excellent & the hotel caters for everyone, the hardest thing is choosing what to eat. The rooms are a very good size with everything you would need on holiday & the whole complex is extremely clean & tidy. There are plenty of sunbeds and sheltered areas if you want a break from the sun. I would like to thanks the following staff for making our holiday one to remember, Samantha, Lyndon, Andrea, Willis, Natari, Jahfree, Urias & Devon the head chef. Thanks guys for a brilliant stay & look forward to returning.

Apologies this review is so delayed, but I had to write one. My sister and I stayed at Bel Jou from Dec 26th 2021 - Jan 8th 2022. From the moment we were warmly greeted with a delicious drink after our long flight from the UK, we knew we made a great choice. Check-in was swift and easy and our bungalow room was lovely, very spacious with good amenities, another bonus is it was a few seconds walk to the pool (1 of 2). The hotel itself and grounds were pristine, the food was delicious and plentiful with a good variety. During the day there are 2 restaurants you can choose from, I preferred the buffet restaurant as there was always a different spread each day, whereas the restaurant by the pool had a fixed menu. There is a more formal restaurant at night, which you book at the front desk. Covid measures were exemplary, there was a nurse taking our temperatures daily, with appropriate social distancing and hand washing stations around. There is a free shuttle that does a round trip to the nearest beach (about 5 mins away), and to Castries. This is organised very well, and you can book your drop off/pick up time which is co-ordinated with other guests. Whilst Covid had shut most of island down with curfews in the evening, Bel Jou kept us entertained with live bands, singers and one of my favourites was the steel band. We were always moving in our seats at dinner, and one night were dragged to the bar to dance which we really enjoyed. New Year’s Celebrations were not too shabby either. An all white party with delicious food, drinks plenty and floating lanterns was incredible. We had a really good time and when the music had to go down we continued with a silent disco, which was such a nice touch. When talking about Bel Jou, cannot forget the staff who make it such a great stay. Sadly cannot remember all your names, but Dean (the manager), the waitresses, chefs, groundskeepers, reception, drivers, nurses, and everybody that works to make Bel Jou such a great place to stay - THANK YOU! Your hard work and excellent customer service was really appreciated, and didn’t go unnoticed. Will always recommend Bel Jou as a place to stay in St Lucia, and if you’re reading this, and still undecided, just book it. You won’t be disappointed!
